Peach Blossom Valleyis one of the main scenic areas of the Taihang Grand Canyon and a charming view in the Grand Canyon of Taihang. This valley within a valley is approx. 4 km long, with an altitude of approx. 800–1,736m and a height difference of nearly 1,000m, with "a spring every three steps, a waterfall every five steps, and a pool every ten steps," and clear streams that flow continuously. The valley features towering, rugged peaks. A winding Peach Blossom Stream runs through the canyon, with vines hanging from both banks and endless forests where the green waves, stirred by the mountain breeze, roll like the sea. Attractions in the valley include Huanglong Pool, Feilong Gorge Waterfall, Feilong Gorge Plank Road, Nine-Cascade Waterfall, and Peach Blossom Cave. Huanglong Pool isPeach Blossom Valley's highlight, with water so clear you can see the bottom, radiating different colors in the sunlight. The upper and lower waterfalls and pools are connected, also known as the "Parent-Child Pools." Standing by the pool, you can see the patterns on the pebbles at the bottom and watch fish swimming freely. Follow the Feilong Gorge Plank Road up to Feilong Gorge, where the banks are filled with exotic flowers, rare plants, and birds, creating a delightful atmosphere. Further up, you can see the Feilong Gorge Waterfall, which resembles a giant dragon with its head raised, playing with a pearl in its mouth.Peach Blossom Valleyhas nine large drops within 200m, forming nine waterfalls known as the "Nine-Cascade Waterfall." If you include the smaller drops, there are over a dozen in total. The Nine-Cascade Waterfall features murmuring water and visible rock layers, making it particularly spectacular. Especially on clear, sunny days between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, if you stand at the top of the Peach Blossom Waterfall cliff and look down, you can see a seven-colored rainbow in the mist, which is beautiful and pleasant. Peach Blossom Cave is located halfway up the mountain in Peach Blossom Cave Village, with a towering cliff above it. The cave is divided into east and west sections. The east cave is larger, 30m deep and 10m wide, while the west cave is 16m deep and 6m wide. A well-preserved stone mortar is kept inside the cave. On the cliffs surrounding the cave, peach trees often bloom in the snow during the depths of winter, sometimes covering the trees in pink blossoms and sometimes with a single flower, creating a unique spectacle.

Eight Spring Gap
No. 1 of Best Things to Do in Grand Canyon of Taihang

Eight Spring Gap

4.6/5
7.5k reviews

Eight Spring Gap is located in the middle section of the Taihang Mountains Grand Canyon. Originally named "Badao Water," it takes its name from the eight springs in the canyon that emerge from a single source. The attraction covers an area of approx. 24 km², with a low point at approx. 600 m above sea level and a high point at approx. 1,400 m, a drop of approx. 1,100 m, combining the grandeur of northern mountains and rivers with the soft beauty of Jiangnan waterscapes. The attraction is divided into four touring areas: the gatehouse view, the canyon view, the cableway view, and the trail view, with water routes, land routes, and aerial cableways connecting in alternation to create a three-dimensional touring experience. The water route begins at the sightseeing dam pier, where visitors board a boat to enter the gorge, passing through the emerald waters of the high gorge and calm lake, with cliffs pressing in on both sides and the full force of a sliver of sky visible at a glance. After landing, visitors follow the Quiet Valley Listening to Springs and the Hanging Streams Dripping Emerald deeper into the canyon, where spring water gathers into streams and eight flows tumble over flat rocks, their sound echoing at the bottom of the valley. Pot Hole Grotto is a continuous arc-shaped grotto formed by mountain spring water eroding the mountain body over hundreds of millions of years—an easily overlooked detail that is well worth a stop. Along the trail route, the Cliff Hanging Ladder is built against the cliff face at approx. 60 m above ground, and walking on it offers a panoramic view of the dam; the sightseeing elevator is built vertically against the mountain, with an operating height of approx. 200 m, and a cantilevered transparent viewing platform at the top, making it the highest point for overlooking the canyon. The Cloud Cliff Walk consists of thousands of steps and several thousand meters of cliffside plank walkway, hanging among the clouds on the precipice and leading to high points such as Yuhuang Square and North Heaven Gate. North Heaven Gate is a natural stone arch, over 20 m high, standing atop the peak and echoing the pictographic rock views such as the Chinese Zodiac Worshipping Heaven on the opposite ridge. The Turning Cableway spans more than ten mountain ridges, offering an aerial panorama of the canyon and a commanding view of the layered Taihang mountain scenery from above. It is advisable to allow ample time, as the water, land, and air touring options each offer different viewing experiences; along the way, small views close to the cliff face, such as Pot Hole Grotto and Dripping Valley Nine Lotuses, are easily overlooked and deserve extra attention to the signs along the path.

This scenic area is beautiful. Walking from Peach Blossom Valley to the Taihang Sky Road bus stop isn't too tiring; the route is well-designed. In the afternoon, take the bus from Dream Valley directly to the scenic area exit, avoiding backtracking.

Having learned about the Red Flag Canal, I deeply admire the older generation who painstakingly carved and carried the canal by hand, much like a modern-day Yu Gong (a legendary figure who moved mountains), benefiting the local community. The scenery at the scenic area is rather ordinary; if you don't consider the historical significance of its manual construction, it feels somewhat unremarkable. Furthermore, the memorial hall and the Youth Cave are bundled together for sale, and the two attractions are quite far apart, with no shuttle bus provided. I suggest this place be designated as a patriotic education base and opened to the public free of charge.

The sightseeing buses arranged by the scenic area were excellent, and the connections between each stop were seamless, making for a very comfortable experience! Climbing to the highest viewing platform offers a breathtaking and awe-inspiring panoramic view of the Grand Canyon. A 5A scenic area, highly recommended!

We took the kids to climb the Red Flag Canal. The scenic area is very large. We walked along the narrow paths and saw the One-Line Sky and the Twin Dragon Cave. The scenery was very beautiful, and there were very few people. Most people took the cable car or walked the flat path below. The Youth Cave was crowded, so we didn't take a boat tour. We spent the whole morning at the Red Flag Canal and didn't even have time to see the memorial hall. The kids were exhausted. It's definitely a great place for kids to learn and have fun.

The Taihang Mountains, like the backbone of North China, are a majestic sight, spanning three provinces. Their majestic and precipitous peaks, dotted with cliffs and deep valleys, reveal a true manifestation of nature's workmanship. This region is not only a geographical demarcation but also a historical stage, bearing the memory of the perseverance of "Yugong moving the mountains" and the flames of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Lush forests crisscross the mountains, offering a changing landscape each season, from spring blossoms to autumn fruits, creating a natural masterpiece. The Taihang Mountains blend natural splendor with the strength of Chinese culture, a towering monument to the Chinese spirit.

There were no peach blossoms in Taohua Valley. The staff said that the peach blossoms would only bloom in the caves during the coldest days of winter. We went there on May Day, so there would be no peach blossoms. But it didn't affect our mood for fun. Taohua Valley is one of the scenic spots in Taihang Grand Canyon. The battery cars inside are so awesome. There were no large numbers of tourists waiting during the May Day holiday, which is difficult for ordinary scenic spots to do. The prices inside are also very affordable. In short, it is worth going during the May Day holiday. There is no such thing as a ready moment in life. No matter what you do, you will have the answer when you start. Thousands of miles of towering Taihang Mountains Between red rocks, clear water and white clouds

The scenery was beautiful. I bought a combined transportation ticket for 180 yuan, and the trip wasn't too tiring. A single ride on the cable car costs 130 yuan. Whether you have a combined ticket or a single ride, you should definitely take the cable car; it offers a panoramic view of the entire canyon from the air.

This is a place worth visiting. The scenery is stunning, especially at night. I recommend staying here at night. My only regret was that I was unable to visit the hanging wall due to weather.

In 1975, the Red Flag Canal Memorial Pavilion was built at the diversion gate of the Red Flag Canal main canal hub project. It was expanded in 2000 and later renamed the Red Flag Canal Memorial Hall. The new hall opened on May 1, 2014.
