Petrovaradin Fortresstowers over the cliffs on the right bank of the Danube River, guarding the waterway from its strategic position, and is often called the "Gibraltar of the Danube". During the Roman Empire, a fortress named Cusum was built here as part of the Danube River defense line. The existing fortress is a bastion-style structure that the Austrians began building in the late 17th century, a project that took nearly a century to complete. The ancient fortress is divided into two main parts: above ground and underground. The underground works consist of several levels with tunnels stretching over 10 km, winding and crisscrossing like a labyrinth. Such a large-scale underground military system is rare in Europe. The above-ground section is particularly famous for its clock tower. On the clock, the hour and minute hands are swapped in length, with the long hand indicating the hour and the short hand indicating the minute. It is said that this design was intended to allow fishermen on the Danube River to see the time from a distance, and because the movement runs fast or slow depending on the temperature, locals jokingly call it the "drunken clock". Climb to the top of the fortress for a panoramic view of the Danube River and the old town. Today, the upper barracks house the City Museum, a planetarium, and numerous artist studios, transforming the ancient fortress into a space for exhibitions and creation. Every summer, the famous European EXIT Festival is also held on these walls.

The Šargan Eight

The Šargan Eight is a narrow-gauge sightseeing railway in western Serbia, running between the stations of Mokra Gora and Šargan Vitasi, with the entire line being approx. 15.5 km long. The line was once a section of the narrow-gauge main line connecting Belgrade and Sarajevo, extending as far as the Adriatic coast. After being closed for many years, it was restored and reopened as the sightseeing railway it is today. To overcome an elevation difference of approx. 300 m over just over 10 km, the tracks wind through the mountains in a giant "8" shape. In some sections, the train even passes the same spot twice, which is how it got its name. Riding this nostalgic train, nicknamed "Ćira," half the fun is outside the window: the railway runs between Tara and Zlatibor mountains, passing through 22 tunnels and over several bridges in succession, with some tunnel walls still dripping with mountain water. The carriages retain the style of the 1930s, and the wooden details are full of old-world charm. To see the full "8" shape, you can look down from the viewing point near the Krst station, where the upper and lower tracks look like two railways stacked on top of each other. On the return journey, the train stops at a spot with a wide view for passengers to take photos. There is a longer stop at the final station, where you can get off and explore the old station building. The area around Mokra Gora station has been developed into a museum-style tourist complex, with a restaurant next to the station serving home-style Serbian dishes, andDrvengrad, created by director Kusturica, is not far away and is often visited in combination with the train ride.

Located in the small town of Zlatibor in southwestern Serbia. In the border river between Serbia and Montenegro. In the past, people spent the summer in the river and stayed there for fun. It was not built by Milutinovic's nephew as the legend goes.

If the Church of St. Sava is a symbol of the Serbian spirit, then the Petrovaradin Fortress is undoubtedly a testament to their military strength! This fortress, one of the largest and best-preserved ancient fortresses in Europe, sits firmly on a 40-meter-high volcanic rock on the right bank of the Danube River in Novi Sad. Its altitude and terrain are exceptional, which is why it is called the "Gibraltar of the Danube".

Serbia has a long history, and its capital Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe, especially here with different art, architecture and cultural landscapes! Of course, the scenery here is also very good, and there are various stalls in the square, which are worth visiting.

The National Museum of Serbia, located in Belgrade’s Republic Square, is the country’s largest and oldest museum, offering a fascinating journey through history, art, and culture. Established in 1844, it houses over 400,000 exhibits, including prehistoric artifacts, medieval treasures, Renaissance masterpieces, and modern art. Highlights include works by famous European painters, ancient coins, and stunning Serbian medieval frescoes. The museum’s well-organized galleries and detailed explanations make it both educational and inspiring. Its neoclassical building adds to the charm, standing as a cultural landmark in the city. A visit here provides a deep understanding of Serbia’s rich heritage and artistic legacy.

It's a very old train, each carriage is different, the scenery along the way is pretty good, but there are many caves. If you can't buy a seat ticket during holidays, you can stand at the connection of the carriages to take pictures for a better view (the front of the train is too noisy). Ordinary people can't tell the difference between wide gauge and narrow gauge. The journey is too long and it will be a bit boring later.
