Reviews: 1-Day Xi'an Tour: Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Army) + Huaqing Palace [Chinese/English Guide]

I was delighted that this tour was led by our expert guide, Brother Zhang Hu. He was like a walking history book, providing detailed explanations of every historical site, building, and tree we visited. Traveling shouldn't just be a superficial experience; understanding the historical background and immersing oneself in the culture is far more important. Brother Zhang was incredibly attentive, resolving any issues quickly and effectively, and showing great care for each member of the group. I was extremely satisfied with this trip.

It was amazing to spend the day with Linda.  We had a nice driver take us directly to the Terracotta Warriors and Linda made sure we entered quickly and seemed to know all the ways to bypass the crowds.  She was very informative, and always checked with us to ensure we understood and to feel free to ask questions.  Even though we had all read about the history and fairly familiar with the Qinshihuang's Mausoleum, we learned so much from her!  She made the stories all so real and interesting, and we felt her sense of pride and enjoyment at being a tour guide.  She was thrilled when we wanted to pass along so much of this information to our Canadian friends, and I would highly recommend Linda as a tour guide.   We wanted a tour of Huaqing Palace with explanations and she was so obliging, helping us to get cable tickets, and toured us around the site to explain the love story of the Emperor and Lady Yang. A beautiful day that was very memorable because of Linda!  Thank you!

The performance was beautiful, but the location itself looks like a dive bar. This spoiled the experience. The performance was short, about 40 minutes.

I usually use a physical SIM card when traveling, but this time I was in a rush and didn't have time to buy one, so I tried using an eSIM for the first time. I thought it would be a lot of work, but it turned out to be so simple – just follow the instructions! The reception is great. It didn't load at startup, which I thought was a problem, so I turned it off and on again, and then it worked. It automatically connects to the network when crossing borders, which is very convenient! After this initial experience, I will definitely buy an eSIM to replace the physical SIM card in the future.

Tour guide was friendly and informative. Our Chinese was limited and may missed noting some info. Tour guide 许导 is very helpful; we misunderstood the timing and came back a bit late missing the bus. 许导 waited for us and arranged another bus back. Very grateful for the good service!
