⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the best activity we did in Japan! While the location is off the main tourists’ route, the entire experience is well worth the journey! Hiro, Sumi, and Yoshi are incredible instructors and are clearly so excited to share their crafts and handiwork with you. Their English is great and they know so much about the area! They are all very talented and very supportive of you as you polish, assemble, etch, and sharpen your knife! My friend and I showed up early due to train delays, and after barely any waiting, Hiro picked us up and got us started on our knives early. I loved the atmosphere—it reminded me of when I was a little girl and would help my grandfather fix cars in his garage. There wasn’t a care in the world, just working away on the task at hand. The meal of pork katsu was incredible, and after all knives were completed, we went to another local business to see how swords are made and admire antique swords. Plan a day in Seki and you will not disappointed!
