Reviews: Meteora: Midday Tour with Lunch & Optional Athens Transfer
Guest User2026-07-23
The trip was phenomenal! First off, the larger bus from Athens was convenient, clean and comfortable! Our specific bus was newer and had usb chargers in the seat backs. Second, the taverna in Kalabaka/Meteora we had lunch at was delicious! The soutzoulakia (Greek Meatballs) and Mousaka were exceptional! Once we had lunch, we boarded the smaller tour bus along with Maria our guide and we traveled up to the monasteries. Maria was great and was extremely knowledgeable! I am so very glad we had Maria, as without her we would not have received any of the background on Meteora! Lastly, the monasteries themselves were stunning! Highly recommend this trip!

I took this tour during a trip with friends and we loved the experience. Our guide, Rula, speaks perfect Spanish and makes the tour very enjoyable and fun. It's an experience you can't miss if you come to Greece. 100% recommended!

Reviews: 1-day tour to Meteora sky city from Athens, Greece with Chinese audio guide + optional lunch
Guest User2026-08-10
It was a fantastic trip! A solo trip with zero English required, and I had a great time. The tour guide was very professional, providing insightful explanations of the cultural background and demonstrating a deep love for Meteora. He was also very helpful in taking photos for everyone. There are many tours to Meteora at the meeting point, so I recommend arriving early to find your tour.

Reviews: Athens: Meteora Monasteries DayTrip at 9am, Sunset, Caves & Lunch

Although the round trip took a lot of time, the scenery there made it all worthwhile. I was incredibly lucky that day; it started raining halfway there, and I thought the visibility would be poor, but when we arrived, the fog had a unique charm. Then, suddenly the sun came out, and the scenery was breathtaking! The tour leader said we were very fortunate to see two different types of Meteora in one trip. Rain often lasts all day, so this sudden clearing is rare. It's best to choose a tour that includes meals; there's only one restaurant after you get off the bus, so everyone eats the same thing. You can choose a seat on the right side for better views from the window once you're on the mountain.
