This trip involved visiting three countries in a short period with very short stays at each location. While purchasing separate eSIMs might be cheaper, it wouldn't be possible to predict data usage in each location. So, I opted for an eSIM that works in 100 different regions, which is incredibly convenient. Although customer service advised activating it upon arrival, since it included Taiwan, I installed and activated it in Taiwan before boarding. Plus, it's calculated 24/7, which is truly fantastic.★

Convenient for arrival in the country, works very well. However, topping up data when you reach zero is a real hassle (it's the carrier that's complicated). I never managed to figure out how to top up online with the app, so I had to find a shop to do it.★

We used Unitel e-SIM in Luang Prabang, Van Vieng, and Vientiane. Internet access quality was excellent. It was quite fast, both in cities and in mountainous areas up to 30 km away. Even in caves, the signal was stable. I recommend it.
