We had a 1 day layover at Incheon airport. Our guide picked us up at the airport hotel & we toured the Gyeongbokgung Palace, a Hanok village & a little shopping & lunch in Insadong. He shared a lot of information & stories & was very timely in getting us to the airport with our brief timeline.★

I used an eSIM while traveling in South Korea, and overall it was a very convenient and hassle-free experience.
The setup process was quick and easy. I simply scanned a QR code before arriving, and the eSIM was activated within minutes. There was no need to visit a physical store or swap out my SIM card, which saved a lot of time, especially after a long flight.
In terms of performance, the connection was generally fast and stable. I had good coverage in major cities like Seoul and Busan, including inside subways and buildings. Internet speed was more than sufficient for navigation, social media, and even streaming.
One of the biggest advantages was the flexibility. I could choose a data plan that suited my trip duration, and there was no need to worry about topping up frequently. It also allowed me to keep my primary SIM active for receiving messages.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks. The price can be slightly higher compared to local SIM cards, and if your phone battery★

Sophia was a wonderful tour guide. She met us at the airport, communicated ahead of time where to meet, provided an agenda, but was flexible to our needs. We had a great lunch in a traditional Korean restaurant, loved the tour of the Imperial Palace and grounds, experienced the market, had tea at a traditional tea house, just an incredible to spend the day out seeing Seoul instead of sitting at the airport. She was very knowledgeable about Korean history and culture, was a safe driver, her vehicle was very clean and she provided us with cold water for the day. Overall, we were so happy with our tour with Sophia and it was a great way for us to celebrate a birthday. ★

The only downside to my visit was the person on reveption was rude and abrupt. But perhaps given that some of the customers before me had not been polite to him, I had a bit of sympathy for him. Once in, the lounge was a bit crowded but comfortable. The food variety available was excellent and the staff extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. Definitely good value for money and a great place to break a long flight
