I purchased this for a two-week stay in Australia for language study.
Using it worked perfectly fine.
However, I accidentally turned on roaming after inserting the eSIM in Japan beforehand, causing it to pick up Japanese signals and start roaming immediately.
Be careful when inserting it in advance.★

A must-have for Aussies traveling to Asia – huge savings compared to roaming
Rating: 5/5. This was my second time using this eSIM, and I can confidently say it's a game-changer for Australians traveling to Asia.
I did the math, and the cost savings are significant. To put it in perspective, I looked at the big Australian telcos' roaming fees:
· Vodafone & Optus have a daily roaming rate of AUD $5 for international data.
· Telstra's similar plan will cost you AUD $10 per day.
For a 10-day trip, that's an eye-watering AUD $50 to $100 in roaming fees alone.
Then there's the value when compared to other eSIMs. For example, a popular provider like Airalo charges around AUD $37.50 for a 10GB/30-day plan for a single country like Indonesia. However, this Trip.com eSIM gave me connectivity across multiple countries in Asia at a fraction of that cost. It even worked out cheaper than other dedicated Asia eSIM providers, such as Nomad's regional plan.

This trip went to a more remote place, but the reception was better and smoother than expected, although there were some places on the way where there was no signal, but in the city it was no problem. It's just that there are difficulties when activating this SIM card. It must be installed before departure and used immediately when you arrive at the local area. I bought the SIM card for a trip to Latin America, and it worked everywhere except Bolivia, as stated in the plan. In Peru, the connection was often lost, and I had to manually select a carrier, but this could be due to the mountainous terrain. Overall, I recommend it.★
