The trip took just over 3 hours instead of 4. The boat left at 9:40 and arrived in Yangshuo at 12:55. Boarding was quick — arriving 10–15 minutes before departure is enough. Tickets booked via Ctrip — check your deck as staff may make mistakes. Lower deck has sofas for six people facing each other, upper deck has rows of three seats like in a cinema. The most scenic part lasts 1.5–2 hours with stunning landscapes. Our boat had about 30 passengers, very comfortable, while 3–4 star boats may carry 70–120. Food was modest: endless refilled teapot, some rice and Chinese dishes. Staff warned food wouldn’t be enough and suggested ordering more. Coffee machine was broken, only instant coffee. Payment by transfer or cash only.
