A must-have for traveling in Hokkaido, this pass can only be exchanged in Hokkaido. I exchanged mine at Hakodate Station. Like other passes, you exchange your pass at the counter first, then reserve your seat. The entire Hokkaido itinerary is basically free of extra charges. Unfortunately, Hokkaido only has limited express trains, which are noisy and bumpy, and frequently delayed. Chinese travelers might find this unusual at first.Trip.com Picks
