Reviews: Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater show/concert ticket for Chongqing 1949 (360° rotating stage + lifelike recreation of old Chongqing + heartfelt performances by actors + audio-visual feast)
Guest User2026-04-11
This show was spectacular. The stage production was excellent! Experiencing a 360 degree rotating theater was so worth it. The show is in Mandarin, but they provide you with earphones to translate to English. I would definitely recommend it! They have a separate seating part for pregnant woman and elderly, so just double check when you buy the tickets.

Reviews: West Lake Scenic Area, Hangzhou|Longjing Village tea garden hike + tea picking and frying experience + tasting Shifeng Longjing tea
Guest User2026-04-06
This afternoon tea picking and tasting package in Longjing Village was a well-structured and knowledge-intensive tea experience. Its core value lies not only in the "experience" itself, but also in building a comprehensive understanding of West Lake Longjing tea, from raw materials to processing and even varietal innovation, through rigorous process comparison. I. Immersive Experience: From Tea Garden to Frying Pan The activity began in a standard experiential tea garden within the first-level protected area of Longjing Village. After a brief explanation, professionals guided participants to pick fresh leaves meeting the "one bud, one leaf" standard using the "hand-picking" technique. The moisture content and aromatic composition of the fresh leaves in the afternoon differed slightly from those in the morning, laying the groundwork for understanding the subsequent processing. The true essence lay in observing the frying process. Experienced tea masters demonstrated the key techniques of the "green pan" stage in front of an electric frying pan: "shaking" to disperse moisture, "folding" to straighten the leaves, "expanding" to flatten the leaves, and "pressing" to solidify the shape. The entire process involved precise temperature control and steady, accurate techniques, transforming fresh leaves into flat, upright shapes within twelve minutes, and shifting the aroma from grassy to the signature aroma of roasted beans. This stage brought the "Ten Techniques" from textbooks to life in a powerful and beautiful display of skill. II. Systematic Tasting: A Three-Dimensional Flavor Profile The tea master, using professional evaluation methods, brewed three carefully selected tea samples in sequence, constructing a clear flavor coordinate system: First Pick Before Qingming: This tea represents the highest level of terroir for West Lake Longjing tea. The dry tea is a classic "brown rice color," flat and smooth. The aroma is a complex blend with rich layers: a sharp, tender bean aroma dominates, with subtle hints of orchid fragrance and a touch of crisp "mountain terroir." The tea soup is fresh and sweet on the palate, with a rich, delicate texture and a distinct "contents" feel. The aftertaste is quick and long-lasting, with a deep, cool throat feel, and plump, whole leaves. It embodies the fusion of "refined craftsmanship" and "local character." Pre-Qingming Picked: As a superior asexual variety, it showcases the standardized aesthetics of modern breeding. The dry tea is emerald green in color, with uniform and elegant strips. The aroma is pure and high-pitched, a signature chestnut fragrance, direct and bright. The taste is characterized by its extremely high freshness and crispness. Compared to the "First Pick," its flavor richness, complex aroma layers, and lingering sweetness are somewhat lacking, reflecting the inherent "advantages and disadvantages" of this superior variety. Longjing Red: Breaking free from the framework of green tea, it demonstrates how processing reshapes flavor. With its dark, lustrous appearance and prominent golden tips, it offers a completely different sensory experience. The aroma is a sweet, mellow honey fragrance combined with the sweetness of osmanthus. The tea soup is bright orange-red, with a sweet, smooth taste, completely free of bitterness, possessing a distinct "sweet potato sweetness" and a mild fruity aroma, offering a warm and comforting sensation. It represents an innovation in flavor and also broadens the value boundaries of Longjing tea raw materials. Through a progressive design of "picking the tea leaves—observation—tasting," an in-depth tea education tour is efficiently completed. Participants not only "see" but also "understand" the variety, terroir, and processing logic behind a fine tea through professional comparative tasting, achieving an effective balance between cultural experience and knowledge acquisition.

Reviews: Hands-on Incense Tablet Making: A journey into Chinese Fragrance Culture( (Intangible Heritage)
Guest User2026-01-28
My partner and I chose the incense tablet experience, and it was absolutely beautiful. The space was calm and elegant, with a strong traditional Chinese atmosphere that made us instantly relax. We learned about the cultural meaning of incense and then created our own personalized incense tablets together. Blending the natural fragrances and shaping them side by side felt surprisingly romantic and meaningful. It’s such a unique and memorable couple activity — and we loved taking home something we made together. Highly recommended!
