The service is pretty bad in bali unless you select telkomsel by yourself in network->sim settings. But for the price its still worth it in my opinion and telkomsel isnt too bad (not great either, but not bad! it's a CMlink based sim card routing through Singapore.★

I used an eSIM for my trip from Thailand to Malaysia. It was much more convenient and faster than searching for local SIM cards at airports.
Key points:
Activation: The main advantage is that you can set up your profile before arriving in the country. As soon as the plane landed, the internet was ready.
Connection quality: I was pleased with the coverage in both countries – excellent reception everywhere, high speeds, without any dips in popular tourist spots and at train stations.
Tethering: A major bonus is that you can share your internet connection (Hotspot) with other devices. I connected my laptop easily, and the connection remained stable.
A caveat in Malaysia: Upon entering Malaysia, my phone struggled to find a network. I had to go into settings and wait a couple of minutes for it to automatically connect to a local carrier. After that, I had no further issues. Bottom line: I recommend it for those who value comfort. The connection is stable, activation is simple, and the ability to share internet makes this option indispensable.★
