Having seen many seas, I'm completely captivated by the fluorescent blue of Shipwreck Bay 🌊. Shipwreck Bay truly is a must-see destination. Having traveled to so many countries, I've never seen such a blue sea before. That refreshing, fluorescent blue goes straight to the soul, a truly breathtaking sight.
It's not just about the distant view from the observation deck; a visit to Shipwreck Bay isn't complete without a boat trip. Only by boat can you get up close to the white cliffs, the beach, and the rusty shipwreck. The journey also takes you through the Blue Grotto, where the water shimmers with a clear, deep blue, with light and shadow shimmering on the surface—another kind of stunning experience.
The observation deck has a long walkway. There's a queue at the first viewing point, mainly for panoramic views of Shipwreck Bay. The second and third viewing points are on the same platform. The third point always has a long queue, with everyone waiting to stand on that pillar for a photo with themselves and Shipwreck Bay in the frame. The second viewing point doesn't have a long queue; just walk along the walkway to the left to directly enjoy the stunning seascape of Shipwreck Bay.
Ideally, visit in the afternoon when the sunlight shines on the sea, making the fluorescent blue waters crystal clear and breathtaking.
⚠️Useful Tips
1. The viewpoint is located on the edge of a cliff, and the ground is uneven. Please be extremely careful when taking photos close to the edge.
2. The viewpoint only offers an overview. To see the beach, shipwreck, and Blue Grotto up close, you must take a small boat out to sea.
3. A boat trip can combine a visit to Shipwreck Beach and the Blue Grotto, allowing you to experience the core Zakynthos seascape in one trip.
