Reviews: Bucharest: Top Gear Road - Transfăgărășan Highway Day Trip

It was a very beautiful trip to the base of the real Count Vlad (dracula) castle and the snowy mountain where we had a soup at the mansion of the bear! of course during the wintertime there were no bears, however the beautiful landscape full of snow made up for it completely! We walked up the mountain for 30min, took some really nice pictures and then went back. It was only the 3 of us; the guide Julian and myself and another customer. We had a lot of fun and talked a lot about the Romanian culture and history. On the way back we stopped at the Monastery where the kings were buried, which is a nice pitstop. All in all, I would recommend this trip in the winter as well! It is a good way to see the Romanian landscape in a comfortable way. Thank you Julian for your flexibility and fun and interesting talks!

This tour allowed us to discover the beauty of the Wallachia landscapes. We departed in January, and despite the final stretch of the Transfăgărășan being closed, we enjoyed a magnificent day and breathtaking snow-covered landscapes. A special thanks to Victor, who shared so much knowledge and passion for his work and his land. He immediately put us at ease and, in his perfect Italian, told us unforgettable stories! Highly recommended!

Despite it being a long day, our guide Silvia was fantastic. She made the excursion very enjoyable, explaining things on the bus. We also booked tickets to Peles Castle for an additional €35, with Silvia as our guide. She made it very engaging and conveyed her passion for history.

Reviews: Bucharest: Dracula's Castle, Peles Castle & Brasov Day Trip

Very cold in general so you need good clothing because there is a lot of waiting. Even though we arrived early at the castles before they opened we waited an hour in line to get in because there were a lot of people. Peles Castle is amazing!!! Brasov is nice, nothing special with a large pedestrian street for a walk and a clean city. We spent about an hour and a half eating and walking there. And finally Bran Castle is not as impressive as you imagine the legend of Dracula. The return trip took about 3 and a half hours due to traffic. Our guide Mattia was amazing, explanatory and helpful!!! A nice day trip that you should do if you are in Romania.
