Reviews: Nagasaki: One-Day Private Guide Tour (Public Transportation)

Our guide Haruka both met us and dropped us off directly at the cruise terminal. She seemed a bit nervous at first later admitting that this was the first time she was conducting this tour on her own. She need not have been nervous as it was obvious that she was very well prepared and knowledgeable. Her personal and caring touch especially in being attentive to some mobility issues my wife had was priceless. We crossed paths with some large group tours which I could not imagine being a part of considering the enriching experience she provided as a personal guide. Be prepared though for the stark realities and sobering experience that is the atomic bomb site

The itinerary was well-planned; we started our tour from the East Gate at 8:00 AM. The tour guide arrived early, and there weren't many people at the Temple of Heaven, even during peak season. The tour guide was very responsible, making it a great experience! 😀😀

I brought my elderly friends here to celebrate my grandmother and grandfather's 80th birthday. Our guide, Yuri, was very kind and helpful, and the driver drove very well and took such good care of the elderly. Thank you. Of course, he found great travel spots and explained things well, and we had a really fun time. If I come again, I would like to meet our guide, Yuri, again.

It's a great place to visit. But don't be fooled by claims that you need to spend the whole day there. The place isn't that big. A couple of exhibits are currently under renovation, and there's some work going on on the museum grounds. We specifically left early to take in everything. We rented a golf cart, thinking it would last the whole day, but we ended up seeing everything in just a couple of hours. We stopped near buildings and walked around them. We tried to get to the fight show twice, but were unable to arrive on time due to navigation issues. A paper map is great, but we live in the information age. Get an interactive digital map with a detailed route. I feel really sorry for the elephants in cages, especially the little ones. They want to walk, not sit behind bars, where they're very uncomfortable. I'd also like to highlight the booking on trip.com. As usual, the service was excellent. Everything was fast and efficient. No hidden fees.
