We thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend the half-day trip from Coimbra to the beautiful coastal city of Aveira. Gliding through the network of canals of the city on a traditional Moliceiro boat was relaxing and delightful. Our personable and knowledgeable guide, Xavier, took us to the vibrant main square of the old town of Aveira and the beautiful Barra and Costa Nova beaches. The colourful striped houses in Costa Nova are unique and reminiscent of the brightly painted houses in St. John’s, Newfoundland in Canada. Ellen and Ryan, Canada★
