Departing from Lanzhou, it takes 2.5 hrs to reach the Wushao Mountain Range, where the peaks are blanketed in pristine white snow, creating a breathtaking silver landscape!

Wushao Mountain Range, where the Lianhuo Expressway runs between two mountains, features an observation deck on the right mountain peak. Follow the wooden boardwalk to climb toward the summit, reaching the mid-mountain observation deck for panoramic views.

Departing from Wushao Mountain Range, it takes 30 min to reach Tanyaogou Village, the closest point to Ma Ya Snow Mountain. Here you can admire the majestic grandeur of Ma Ya Snow Mountain up close. The mountain belongs to Qilian Mountain National Park. During fire prevention periods, vehicles cannot enter the village to reach the mountain base. If you wish to go to the foothills, you can either hike or pay for a ride with local villagers' vehicles. Enjoy snowball fights, building snowmen, and all the fun of playing in the snow here.

On the way back to Lanzhou, pass by Danxia Road Trip Campsite, where there's a vast area of wild Danxia landforms that make for great photo opportunities.

The Wushao Mountain Range has been the gateway and strategic passage to the Hexi Corridor since ancient times, a key location on the ancient Silk Road and a militarily significant area of great geographical importance. To the east, the Wushao Mountain Range overlooks Longdong, while to the west it leads to Hexi, making it a historically contested battleground. The Han and Ming Great Walls converge at the Wushao Mountain Range and wind westward. Historically, figures such as Zhang Qian of the Western Han Dynasty on his diplomatic mission to the Western Regions and the Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang on his journey to India for Buddhist scriptures passed through the Wushao Mountain Range. General Huo Qubing of the Han Dynasty led his troops out of Longxi, defeated the Xiongnu, and incorporated Hexi into the Western Han territory, constructing the Great Wall west of Lingju (now northwest of Yongdeng County) that crossed the Wushao Mountain Range via the Zhuanglang River Valley. Three sections of the Han Great Wall can still be seen in Tianzhu, all built with rammed earth, though after centuries of weathering, most have eroded into earthen ridges. Lin Zexu, exiled to Yili, passed through the Wushao Mountain Range and left a record stating, "The range is not very steep, but the climate is extremely cold." The Wushao Mountain Range has a complex and variable climate, often described by locals as "experiencing four seasons on one mountain, with weather changing every ten miles."
