The tour was very well structured, easy to understand, yet still challenging and detailed. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and questions and comments were answered competently and respectfully. As a layperson, I gained a comprehensive overview and saw a great deal, including suggestions for photo spots. If you want to take more photos, it's best to do so afterward and set aside time for them. Restaurant recommendations were also helpful. Women should bring a headscarf for visiting the mosque. A highly recommended tour; it's very intensive and focused, so you should be prepared to walk a lot.

Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.

Guide Wang's explanations of the Forbidden City are incredibly professional! He effortlessly connects the historical context of the Ming and Qing dynasties with the architectural regulations of the palaces, providing detailed and thorough explanations of everything from mortise and tenon joinery to court anecdotes. His presentations are engaging and insightful, avoiding rote memorization. The itinerary is well-planned, avoiding crowds and allowing you to discover lesser-known facts. He patiently answers questions throughout, maintaining a perfect pace. Following him on a tour of the Forbidden City not only lets you see the sights but also deepens your understanding of the cultural heritage behind them – a truly enriching experience!

It was such a lucky coincidence to meet Liu Jiaxin, the top-rated tour guide the scholar had mentioned! This brand is truly trustworthy. The guide was also incredibly dedicated and responsible. He arranged our palace tour a day in advance, and most importantly, "Knowledge changes destiny" was our central theme for the day—it was so crucial! He recited the motto, "To establish a heart for heaven and earth, to establish a destiny for the people, to continue the lost learning of the past sages, and to usher in an era of peace for all generations." Furthermore, he used simple and easy-to-understand language to make the Ming and Qing dynasty palaces sound like a story, which we found very easy to comprehend. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Highly recommend him to my friends! [Sun][Sun][Sun]
