Reviews: Wine Venture and Boat Trip in Douro Valley from Porto

We had an AMAZING day tour of the Douro Valley with BL Heritage Tours on July 20. Our tour guide and driver José was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the drive time fly by with interesting conversation and information. We had 2 visits to small vineyards with personalized tours and very generous tastings with the winemaker of each vineyard, with tapas at the first and a delicious homemade multicourse lunch at the second. We rounded out the afternoon with a private boat tour on the Douro River with more local snacks and portotonicos. Interspersed with our drives were stops at incredibly beautiful vistas for photos.
Everyone we interacted with on our day tour was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to chat and answer questions, no matter how esoteric. And it was all in English, which was much appreciated since my Portuguese is very poor. We cannot recommend this tour enough - it was worth every penny, and tour company thought of everything. Thank you for an amazing day in the Douro!★

Despite the rainy and fog we had a fabulous day. Sarah was an amazing and fun guide. The first vineyard was informative and cosy with 4 wines and some pairings. The second winery had really lovely views and lots of autumnal colours. The final winery had a meal with wine and then a port tasting afterwards.★

Even though the rain was pouring down, our guide did what she could to give us a good tour. Several stops along the way, where she told us about buildings and the history behind them. Very comfortable with an electric bike in the hilly terrain. In the sunshine, it is definitely a recommended tour!
