Melonie was amazing, no complaints at all. Even though the weather was not ideal, she kept her cool, and was very nice to everyone. The meeting point was easy to find, she sent very thoughtful instructions on WhatsApp before our visit. We connected on WeChat so if someone got lost they could call her and if we had any questions she answered patiently. She sends additional info on what to see, where to go, where to eat etc.★

We bought tickets for a group tour, but it turned out we were alone. The guide was a very friendly young man who took us on a tour of the hutongs, explaining in detail Chinese traditions and cuisine, taking us into hidden alleys and showing us the most hidden spots. The entire tour, including dinner, lasted 3.5 hours. We didn't regret a minute of it! His English was good, and everything was crystal clear! Dinner was also filling; my daughter has a gluten allergy, so he quickly changed the dishes. The tour ended at the lake, where the guide explained in detail how to spend our time there and get back to our hotel.★

We took a tour with a Russian guide. Volodya was our guide. He told us interesting facts about China along the way. We shared lunch, which was enough since we're light eaters. The samovar was delicious. We also bought a cable car ticket from Volodya; we skipped the boat. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the city of Gubei; it's very beautiful in autumn. On the way back, after descending the wall, we sat in an open-air foot bath with warm water. It was wonderful, a relief for our feet after a long walk. Then we climbed up to the pagoda, which offered a stunning view of the entire city and the wall. And when it got dark, it was incredibly beautiful! We left on schedule and were dropped off at the same stop where we were picked up. We loved everything.★
