Fitzroy Island, part of the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, is one of Cairns' most accessible tropical getaways. Just a short 45-minute boat ride from Cairns, this lush rainforest island is celebrated for its coral beaches, fringing reefs, and vibrant marine life. Unlike typical continential islands, many of Fitzroy's beaches are formed from crushed coral, built up over thousands of years. These remnants of ancient reefs were gradually reshaped and displaced by hundreds of tropical storms, creating the island's uniquely textured shores that embody its deep connection to the Great Barrier Reef's natural history.Cairns · 96.1km from Dedin

The Daintree Rainforest is located in northeastern Australia and is one of the oldest rainforests on Earth. Visiting flora and fauna is the highlight of any tour here, and spring is a great time to enjoy it, when temperatures are pleasant, there are few storms, and flora and fauna are very active. 1. There are many species of animals and plants The Daincui rainforest has more species of animals and plants on the earth. Under the dense canopy, there are one-third of Australia's frogs, marsupials and reptiles, and nearly two-thirds of bats. and butterfly species. This huge rainforest is also home to some 430 bird species, 13 of which are not found anywhere else in the world. Wake up to their song in the treehouse in the morning, or glide over the river at dawn. From September onwards, you'll be able to spot the fascinating brown-backed honeybirds and Australian kingfishers. Parrots arrive with storms in November, and their gruff calls can be heard in the early morning noise. 2. Outside the rainforest In addition to the rainforest, Daintree also has pure beaches and shallow, warm tropical waters. These are mainly around Cape Tribulation to the north, where the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef meet. This is one place in the world where two World Heritage areas meet. In Daintree, nature has kept its pattern for millions of years. In spring, Vientiane is renewed and so vibrant every year.Diwan · 27.1km from Dedin

Version 1 (Long review of platform order, 5-star recommendation) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect score! The Great Barrier Reef trip completely exceeded expectations, a truly unforgettable travel experience. A boat trip offered breathtaking views of the gradually changing blue waters, culminating in snorkeling at the outer reef platform. Donning a mask and diving in, I was instantly transported to a vibrant underwater garden. Layers of colorful corals unfolded, schools of tropical fish darted around me, and I was even lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle swimming by. Sunlight filtered through the water, creating shimmering spots – a scene so stunning it defies description. The staff were professional and patient, providing detailed explanations of snorkeling precautions. The equipment was clean and complete, ensuring a completely safe experience. The platform was well-equipped, and the meals were excellent. Choosing a helicopter tour offers a panoramic view of the naturally sculpted heart-shaped reef, with the blue and green waters creating a wallpaper-like effect. The itinerary was well-planned and comfortable, without any rushing. Seeing the grandeur of the Great Barrier Reef firsthand truly made me appreciate the wonder of nature. Highly recommended! If you have the chance, you must visit this blue sea yourself! Version 2 (Short and concise, suitable for quick review posting) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-star review! The Great Barrier Reef experience was superb, with crystal-clear waters. Snorkeling allowed for close-up views of corals and fish, and we even encountered sea turtles – the underwater world was dreamy and healing. The guide was professional and attentive, and the itinerary was smoothly arranged. Both the snorkeling and aerial views were well worth it. A trip to this blue paradise in the Southern Hemisphere made all the travel worthwhile; highly recommended! Version 3 (Artistic atmosphere, suitable for travel platforms/Xiaohongshu reviews) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars! Finally visited the Great Barrier Reef, a place I'd been longing to visit. The sea surface was painted in layers of Tiffany blue and deep sea blue. Diving underwater, the corals swayed gently in the currents, schools of fish swam around, and sea turtles swam leisurely – peaceful and healing. Looking down at the reef from the air, the heart-shaped reef lay quietly on the ocean – nature's romance touched my heart. The team's service was attentive and thoughtful, a perfect experience.

The most impressive attraction to us is Army Duck Tour. The ranger was funny and knowledgeable. He introduced different plants and habitats in the rainforest. In addition, there were a few koala, wallabies and wildlife to see. Quite an interesting place to play a half day visit.

The scene was definitely beautiful, we took the cableway around 3PM and was not too hot. Gaby was amazing, we originally purchased the wrong time and wrong departure location. She was able to help us make it right. We also missed our original booked time but the staffs allowed us to get on. Everyone is so nice here 😊

You must visit the 130 million year old Daintree Rainforest if you’re in tropical North Queensland! We went on a day trip from Port Douglas in a hire car. You can spend a whole day there if you plan properly or if you want longer there are multiple camp spots or eco lodges but one day could be enough. Book a croc river tour in the morning with Crocodile Express or Bruce Belcher’s tours which we did. Then drive towards Cape Tribulation by going across the river by ferry and stopping at the Daintree Discovery Centre, you’ll need an hour or so there to make the entry fee of about $30AUD worth it. Continue towards Cape Tribulation stopping at the boardwalk walks that take about 20mins each (there’s about 3 along the way). Grab some organic ice cream while you take in the sounds and smells of the one of the world’s oldest rainforests!

Port Douglas is a small destination in area only. The Port itself is not that big but provides a vast array of accomodation that would satisfy any budget. Port Douglas is out of the hustle and bustle of the main city of Cairns, but provides all amenities.Indeed, it can accomodate that intimate, quiet time out you have been craving for - or deliver an action packed, adrenalin filled holiday thrill seekers are looking for. Anything in between is catered for as well.We stayed during October, apparently reknowned for its winds. And yes, it was windy, but warm.We went to the Habitat and spent nearly a day eventhough we were Aussies and familiar with a lot of the wildlife it was still an intimate exposure to them and very interesting. We did the touristy thing and went out to the reef - hubby did 3 dives and I snorkelled. The Poseidon catered for each of our needs and gave good individual service. I would have been more nervous with a bigger operator. Our Rainforest tour with Tony's Tours was just great. Only 6 people so we heard everything and never felt like cattle being rustled through. Questions were answered and a lot of information and history was passed on. Loved eating at Port Douglas - (hey, I love eating anywhere!) which probably makes me a conossoir right!?You have to go to the Combined Services Club - as quoted 'million dollar views and nothing over $20.00.'The yacht club is pretty good too. But don't go past the good old pub in the middle of the main drag which served up the best steak and for the cheapest price. That's where the locals still go to eat.Our accomodation was great. We stayed at Freestyle where our hosts were just spot on with local knowledge without being obtrusive at all. Our unit was great and reasonably priced. And we knew that if we needed anything then Anne would be able to assist us.Port Douglas is warm - hot in summer - and you always need your sunscreen and hat!!!And always friendly and fun. Loved it!

This place is amazing the koalas are so cute and all the fascinating animals catch my eye the sound of the amazing trees rang in the forest as my mind filled with wonder. Zont is the biggest croc there and the boat ride made me shacked and the show for the crocs was fantastic. The most amazing part is the six metre snake named psycho Sally it was massive in its enclosure and made us look small. All the snakes were amazing and the cassowary was so colourful the koalas are so cool and their grey fur looks like a toy. The baby croc you can take a photo with is so cool and is so special to me as it is a true place of wonders. The scenic Forest made me feel like I was living in the wilderness and it made me feel like it was my permanent home. One of the best parts is when you can feed the cassowary and koalas it makes me feel caring and they are so cute to pet. The snake show was so cool as I learned lots of new things and I think that snakes are now so fascinating instead of scary.

Overall, it was pretty good. The service was excellent; for those prone to seasickness, they provided bags, tissues, and ice. The environment has been severely damaged; the coral bleaching is quite bad, and there are no red corals left. Green Island is still quite beautiful. We were on a glass-bottom boat, so the view was a bit limited compared to a semi-submarine.
