The Achillion Palace was built in 1890 as the palace of Empress Elizabeth of Austria (Princess Sissi) on Corfu Island. It was used as her summer resort. After Princess Sissi was assassinated in 1898, it was sold to Emperor Whilhelm II of Germany.

This place is really worth visiting! It was built by the Venetians who occupied Corfu in the 16th century. It was the ancient city of Corfu before. After it was destroyed, the Venetians built this military fortress. From the castle, you can see the panoramic view of Corfu City opposite and the beautiful blue coast of the Mediterranean Sea! Beautiful!
