In winter, you can come to the wetland to watch migratory birds. Birdwatching platforms have been built, allowing you to keep a safe distance from the birds. You can also rent binoculars at reasonable prices. The staff will tell you the names of the different birds. When a large flock of birds takes flight, they block out half the sky—it's truly spectacular. The birdwatching platforms have sheltered spots, so you won't feel cold. There are also vendors selling local candied hawthorns at the entrance for ten yuan a skewer—sweet and sour, a refreshing treat. Watching them for an entire afternoon won't feel tiring; it's much more comfortable than watching TV at home.
