"I only stayed for one night, but I had an amazing experience. My Japanese is very limited, but the owner and me communicated in a mix of English and Japanese and I felt very welcome. The small bus of the ryokan brought me together with other guests to a Kagura performance in the evening. It was one of the highlights of my trip! The location of the ryokan is very close to the shrine and the best place to stay for a cultural significant experience. I hope I can come back in the future!"

"This is a newly built hotel, very clean and suitable for families. The room interior was also neat, and I appreciated having a small kitchenette where I could wash and eat some simple fruits. It's about a 10-minute walk to the downtown area, making it a good location for sightseeing. For breakfast, I ordered granola, but it was just regular cereal granola. There are no on-site parking facilities, so you have to park in a private lot behind the building."

"I’ve stayed in the twin bedroom several times before, but this was my first time staying in this type of room. Although the building is old, it was clean and well-maintained. The bedding was a simple futon-style setup with a mattress laid directly on the floor, but it was very comfortable and I had no issues sleeping. Since the windows are covered only with shoji screens, light comes in from outside at night, and it gets quite bright early in the morning as well. I’m sensitive to light, so I used an eye mask while sleeping. As for noise, nothing in particular bothered me, and I was able to stay comfortably."

"Great view for the sea view room. Private onsen not very convenient if us a raining day cause need to walk out if the building. As we came back late a bit late and most local restaurant need to book in advance. The hotel is kind to help us to reserve a table for us. The restaurant actually was full but the room was big enough to share a table with the local."

If the weather's good, it's even close enough to walk! My husband really enjoyed it, even going for an early morning stroll through an empty Takachiho Gorge. Our room was clean, and we had a lovely view of Takachiho's deep green scenery from the window. The food was delicious too!"

"Department house の の Cleanliness は Problem なし There are many insects in the public bath anyway. I'm going to go to other hot springs, but there's a lot of them here. I want you to take the insects floating in the hot water regularly. The scenery was very good At night, the light outside is too dazzling and the stars are hard to see, so it's better to be a little weaker. The lobby, the public bath, the view from the restaurant are superb because it is high It was hard to get a light car because I was going up the slope. There are free water bottles for people. There's a cotton swab, emulsion, water server in the public bath. Ice machines, sake vending machines were also in the elevator. Cospa was good The air conditioner in the room seemed to be in bad condition. It's a pretty negative that it's 17 degrees, but it's not cold and it's hot all the time."

The hotel is beautiful and it has great amenities (top restaurants including a high ranked steakhouse,, an amazing bakery, a gym, hot spring, laundry room and several stores including a kimono rental store. The hotel is located close to malls and the subway station. The staff are very kind and are always willing to assist even if they are not proficient in English . The breakfast buffet is also great and was included in my reservation. Visiting the steakhouse is a must , it is a tad pricey but worth the expenditure. Miyazaki is known for its beef and chicken. My only negative comment pertains to showers in the standard rooms (there are three kinds of rooms). The showers are very dated, have a weird smell and the shower heads are what you would normally find  in a bathroom from the 70s. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, if I had known the showers and tub were so old I would have upgraded to a deluxe room. Overall the hotel is great and it is well priced for its amenities.

The hotel staff barely spoke any English, so we had to rely on a translator to communicate. Checking in was a nightmare; they couldn't find our room, which took nearly half an hour. Then, when checking out, they gave us the wrong bill, for a different room, almost charging us an extra 4000 yen! I booked a triple room, but as the picture shows, only one bed was a proper bed, while the other two were makeshift cots. I wonder if this is standard for the hotel, or if we were just treated differently? All three of our rooms were also located near the elevators, which made them quite noisy! The rooms themselves were spacious, though. What was truly frustrating was how incredibly crowded the hotel was. The buffet breakfast could take an hour to queue for. On the bright side, there were three breakfast restaurants to choose from. The Pine buffet restaurant was the most popular, and it definitely lived up to the hype with its excellent quality and incredibly rich selection, far surpassing many buffets back home. Plus, you could eat until 1 PM. On our first day, we went at 11 AM and it was relatively empty, but on the second day, we went at 8 AM and queued for so long we questioned our life choices, so we switched to the Hyuga Kai (set meal) instead. Perhaps it was because it was the weekend, but there were queues everywhere, and the hotel was overflowing with people, mostly Japanese families with lots of children. We didn't go to the outdoor pool or hot springs because they were too crowded. There's a children's activity area on the third floor, but it costs extra. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Miyazaki Station, but ridiculously, there are only three services a day, so most of the time you have to rely on taxis. The location is very remote, suitable for families with young children who want to stay at the hotel, or for those who have their own car! Just to add: No wonder Miyazaki is such an unpopular destination; the transportation is just too inconvenient. I won't be coming back here again.

Room size was just enough for 3 adults and 1 baby. It was good idea to book tatami as the baby can walk around in the room. The room was a bit old but it was fine and good to sleep and rest. The breakfast was good too, transitional Japanese style. The public hot spring was not good, quite old but clean notmal water. I would recommend you to buy some hot spring powder to make your own one hot spring bath in the room 😂
