"The hotel's location is excellent. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Kumamoto Bus Terminal after taking a bus from Fukuoka. The commercial district, Kumamoto tram, and Kumamoto Castle are all nearby and easily accessible on foot. The hygiene is impeccable; you even take off your shoes upon entering the lobby, storing them in shoe lockers on the first floor. The front desk service was superb. We stayed for three nights and changed rooms once, and they immediately allowed us to check in, without making us wait until 3 PM. When we looked lost outside, they promptly provided us with a map, suggestions, and directions. The deluxe twin room, a Japanese-style room, is quite spacious by Japanese standards and elegantly decorated. The washing area, shower, and toilet are three separate, independent spaces. The onsen (hot spring) on the 11th floor is also very clean, with a pleasant environment. Afterward, there are free ice pops and a relaxation area. Free ramen is served at 9:30 PM, which was also delicious. There's free coffee on the first floor, and the breakfast is abundant and exquisite, with a high 'eatability' factor. All in all, I hope to have the chance to stay here again."

"It was raining when we arrived, so we skipped our planned itinerary and checked into the hotel early. Turns out, it was a smart decision! We got to quietly enjoy the hotel's facilities.
The staff saw us parking and immediately came over to help with our luggage; we just handed them the car keys. We were able to go explore before check-in time. When it was time to enter our room, our luggage was already neatly placed inside. The hotel staff were incredibly professional, explaining all the onsen facilities, dinner, and breakfast arrangements. They even had staff who spoke English, so communication was never an issue.
On the second day, it was pouring rain, and they still helped us with umbrellas and saw us off to the car. Because of the heavy rain and poor visibility, along with a narrow exit and oncoming traffic, a staff member proactively offered to switch with me and move the car to a more suitable spot. I'm very grateful for that.
If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that the food taste might not suit everyone's palate. We ended up having some waste. I hope the hotel can create some dishes that appeal to a broader taste.
Oh, and the dessert shop at the hotel entrance has delicious treats and good value for money. Highly recommend!"

I was looking for a place to stay while visiting my parents, and I found this inn where my parents had their wedding, so I made a reservation.
The spacious Japanese-Western room was immaculately cleaned and very comfortable.
The front desk staff were all very kind.
I stayed here with my husband, who is a foreigner, and they were very attentive to my husband's limited Japanese.
The souvenir corner was also well-stocked, and as a native of Kumamoto, I was thrilled to find Kumamon merchandise (lol).
I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit my parents again.

"It was quiet away from the national highway, and the hot water was soft and smooth, and it was nice. The food was also heartfelt and I felt the goodness of Kumamoto. I enjoyed talking to my husband (?). I will come with my family again. Thank you for a beer feast after the bath. The merger made the anzu hill a little lonely, but please make a wish that Kikuka Onsen is the core of the area, mainly in Hanatomitei."

"It's close to the station and there's a convenience store nearby. The location is good and the parking lot is spacious. I really like it.
Also, the loungewear is not like the usual flimsy yukata, but separate top and bottoms, and it's pants. It's easy to relax in, and that's one of my favorite things about it.

The whole experience was fantastic! The inn lives up to its name, surrounded by mountains and forests, with the sound of the river and the aroma of burning longan wood, taking the sensory experience to another level! Every service was incredibly attentive! Unfortunately, I couldn't eat much, but both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious! After a hot spring bath, you absolutely must try the Kurokawa milk and coffee milk! It was superb and so enjoyable! The only downside is that it's a bit far from town, but having the shuttle service is really great! I'll definitely visit again if I get the chance, and staying for a few nights would be even more enjoyable!

What I loved
-Super big room with plenty of space. Very comfortable!
-Free yukata and sleepwear were provided, and they were really comfortable to wear.
-Loved the onsen experience! There are different onsen baths, and everything is connected indoors so you don't have to go outside.
-Buffet dinner and breakfast were amazing. So much variety, and the Aso milk was incredibly fresh and delicious.
-The room had a beautiful view. Waking up to the scenery was one of the highlights of the stay.
-Great place to relax, and I would definitely bring my family back next time.
What could be better
-The open-air parking lot is quite large, and some parking spaces are a bit far from the hotel lobby.

The service was excellent, and the food, both breakfast and dinner, was great. The onsen was comfortable and clean. It's a shame that the massage chair required a coin-operated subscription; normally, hotels of this caliber and price shouldn't charge extra for it.

Guest UserTrip.com wouldn't let me cancel, but I ended up getting the Dormy Inn Hot Springs for its lowest price ever! A double room for just over 300 [currency unit]! Couldn't resist! It's right opposite the Kumamoto Sakuramachi bus terminal, literally a stone's throw away. There's a shopping street, a Gyomu Supermarket, and a tram station nearby. As always, they have 24-hour coffee, tea, and ice cream, along with hot springs, laundry, and late-night ramen... My friends who know Dormy Inn will understand! I wanted to do two consecutive cycles of washing and drying, so I put in 200 yen. The next day, a Japanese guest saw me and told me I had to wait for the first cycle to finish before putting in more coins. I reported this to the front desk, and without a word, they refunded the 200 yen I overpaid. ❤️ Love it! Staying for two nights was an absolute steal.

Amakusa is at the edge of Kumamoto, and transportation is inconvenient. You can take the Amakusa bus from Kumamoto, which takes two and a half hours on the road. There will be no group tours in this place, which is good. It is quiet and the hot springs are basically like a private place. The hotel facilities are relatively new, the sea view is extremely beautiful, and the hot spring water quality is excellent. But there are no places to play around, so in the hotel you can: watch the sea, soak in hot springs, and be in a daze. Note: There are only two ways to leave Amakusa, one is to return to Kumamoto, and the other is to take a ferry across the sea to Nagasaki. Don't choose the Lingbei Steamship plan to go to Nagasaki. If the wind speed is greater than 10 meters/second, the steamer will stop sailing. The wind speed in Amakusa is 16-30 meters/second every day. It depends on the weather to sail. There is a forecast on the blog of Lingbei Steamship. Once it can sail, it will be like good news. If you really want to go to Nagasaki, it is best to choose to take the car and passenger ferry to Oniike Port, which basically will not stop sailing. It costs more than 3,000 yen to take a taxi from Amakusa Angel Garden Hotel to Oniike Port. After crossing the sea to Kuchikozu Port, take a bus to Isahaya, where you can transfer to the Nagasaki Line train to Nagasaki Station.

The hotel is okay, but quite old and outdated, so I'd say it should be cheaper for what they provide.
Location is perfect for an overnight before your flight though. Stuff is friendly and helping, also they gift you a tasty ice cream. Hot bath also looks old, but it's a nice addition to relax before sleep, you can even watch the stars late evening in onsen. You can see the mountains from your window and lots of green houses)
Breakfast cost is 1500 jpy, I didn't use this option.
Overall everything was okay, but I believe they need to renovate rooms.
