Hotels With spa in Catalonia, Spain

"We spent a weekend at Aiguablava Parador in Begur. We were a party of four people. The good points were the location, the rooms (comfortable beds, fabulous sea view, spacious rooms, nice amenities) the hotel is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The swimming pool, at the top end of the cliff, although not massive, is large enough and with fantastic views of the area. A very privileged position with views of Aiguablava cove and a private path down to the cove. Breakfast was varied and good quality in general and served in the breakfast room with gorgeous views. Freshly squeezed fruit juice and good quality coffee. The negatives were the check in experience, too long and with an inexperienced receptionist who lacked aptitude in the treatment of experienced travelers/customers and couldn’t get my name right. There was a general lack of coordination between departments (reception and restaurant) our evening meal reservation was not communicated to the restaurant either of the two days and my name was wrong in all departments from beginning to end even though the receptionist had access to my ID card and the online booking form. The evening meals were sub standard. Generally unpleasant food, tasteless fish and a dirty lukewarm brown sauce, packet custard-based deserts. Brick sized chunks of melon as fruit salad. Some dishes were inedible. A very limited wine list and very expensive wines. The service in the restaurant varied from pleasant to inappropriate with some comments from waiting staff demonstrating their inexperience and unsuitability to work in a hotel of this category, even though they were pleasant and kind at all times. On a final note, I requested by telephone if it would be possible to have some candles on a desert on our final evening as we were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. The receptionist said it would be no problem but it was not communicated to the restaurant and forgotten. As there had been so many hiccups with communication in general I didn’t bother to even try to remind them. "

"The hotel breakfast was absolutely fantastic, truly superb! I specifically chose the Intercontinental for its breakfast – unlimited ham, a real treat! The hotel room was also quite spacious, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a lifesaver in the scorching heat of Spain! The front desk staff were very welcoming and provided detailed information. It's a little bit of a walk from the old town, but right next door is the National Art Museum of Catalonia, which is an attraction in itself! There are also plenty of small supermarkets nearby. Barcelona isn't as scary as some social media platforms make it out to be! I personally believe that no matter where you travel, it's always wise to be observant and cautious. Barcelona is great! If you have questions about children staying for free or at a charge, just email the hotel directly – it's very convenient, and you'll get the answers you need without any hidden fees! Highly recommended!"

"Probably one of the best hotels in the middle of those on the 2nd line in Santa Susanna. Cosy, beautiful rooms with balcony, modern decoration and good view of the inner area with a swimming pool. Access to spa and gym in the hotel is a big plus. A spacious and comfortable hall with a bar. It seems all about the same as in neighboring hotels, but somehow more cozy ... "

"Everything was perfect. My only complaint is that I booked half-board and they wouldn't let me change dinner for lunch. I thought that was a bad idea; they finally changed it, but it was a struggle 😂. The facilities are very new, and the pool is ideal for children. A bit far from the beach. Parking is available in the blue zone next to the hotel. Ideal for families!"

"The room is wide, clean and there are a few simple things provided. The location is very pretty but a little bit far on foot from public transport. Now, the bathroom is only separated from the room by a blind, through which you can see everything from the side. This leaves no place for privacy and is very uncomfortable. Furthermore, it seems to me that we were placed in some kind of suit, where only a door was separating us from another room. Amazing choice of isolation when your neighbours decide to have a very long and loud conversation at 3am in the morning, and you can hear everything. I wouldn't recommend for the price that only one night costed us."

"I might be slightly harsh about this hotel and setting standards too high, but upon checking in to my room, I found the room to be somewhat old (normal given to age), but the water kettle was extremely dirty (hotel was kind to give me a replacement). Service was good, as expected from a 5 star hotel. Location was decent, a bit far from the tourist action which was nice. Saturday nights = party on the roof top bar which meant lots of noise and music even on the 9th floor. I was hoping for better but maybe this is what 5 star meant in Barcelona? I am not sure, I had a pleasant stay for my 4 nights but there were some ups and downs. Good restaurant, nice lobby. Also the bathroom window is completely see-through so if you like your privacy you might want to request it being blocked before you stay. Nice view from the roof."

"The room was spacious, relatively clean, and close to the train station. However, when I inquired with one of the reception staff, they said that free bottled water would be provided every day, but it was only provided on the first day. So I asked how much it cost, and they said it was 1.5 euros for 500ml. I went to a nearby supermarket where they were selling the same volume of water for 0.25 to 0.3 euros, so I bought it there."

"The very large, quiet and comfortable bed room but comes over the stick as a cement stick that is very low that when you leave things in the stick if you don't realize you hit the stick there are signs that more than one has hit my stick Mary has a chicken and a small swallow in the eye, I also gave, taking a little of the night melting you don't hit, another solution for the stick? The bathroom with screws can't be filled because the cap doesn't work and the screws do not work, the perfect shower"

"Sin palabras ,se puede mejorar pero estoy muy contento con todo! Es la 5 ves que voy ,cada vez me asignaron habitaciones diferentes y sin comentarios !! De seguro repetiré 🥳🥳"

"The hotel charges upper end prices while some of the service people lack enough training. in particular one reception desk person with no ID tag has attitude problems. After you pay 250+ euros, the last thing you want is to be stopped at breakfast with the claim that you didn't pay for it. when you show the trip.com email receipt showing you paid for two breakfasts they say well that's a message in your phone, what counts is our records, and this happens in front of your guest which is damaging to you. Rolling eyes, sarcastic tone also are bonus. After me, i heard the same person showing similar attitude to a Chinese professor attending the same conference as me. I will not stay here again. Minor issues are lack of drinking water beyond first day and bo update of instant coffee bags. No slippers. For a hotel that charges 250+ euros, these should not be issues. I do not recommend."
