Romantic Hotels in Shanxi, China

"My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. "The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel."

"Facilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly. Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable. Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed. Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant."

"Absolutely amazing! I was a bit worried about the noise since the hotel is right in the middle of a food street. When I checked in, I casually asked what time the food street closed, and the lovely lady at the front desk immediately upgraded us to a room on the parking lot side – totally quiet, not a sound! Honestly, just finding a hotel at this price in this area is a win, so I didn't have high expectations. But the front desk and concierge staff were all so wonderful and accommodating with every request. Definitely a five-star review! 🥰🥰🥰"

"This place has its own dedicated parking, conveniently located right behind Xinzhou Ancient City, making it super easy to get around. Charging and fueling your car is a breeze. You can bring back anything you buy in the ancient city and enjoy it at your leisure in your room. The private hot spring in the courtyard was a great experience – perfect for soaking while munching on snacks and sipping tea. It even has a retractable roof with lights, so you can enjoy it at night too. The service was top-notch; they provided a pet gift package and a welcome gift, which our dog loved! The staff were incredibly responsive, charming, and generous. We'll definitely be back!"

"The owner is incredibly kind. They messaged us before we even arrived, offering to pick us up from the North Gate of the ancient city. The room was also really nice, and for the price, it's excellent value for money. There's a sightseeing cart right outside that can take you anywhere in the ancient city, and it's also a pleasant, short walk back to the guesthouse. The owner patiently explained how to best explore the ancient city, and even gave us a bottle of vinegar when we checked out – truly wonderful! The courtyard is also very beautiful."

"We checked into Yunman·Xi at 0930. We were afraid that we would not be able to find the hotel at night, so the lady came to pick us up at the parking lot of the ancient city bar. It is very convenient to park and take a taxi there. Facilities: There are not many rooms in the hotel. Each room has a private pool where you can put hot spring water for hot spring bathing (P6). There are curtains so you don’t have to worry about them showing through. It’s very comfortable. You can shower directly next to the pool. There is a Xiaoai classmate in the room, which can intelligently control the air conditioner and TV with voice. Environment: The hotel is decorated in a very bourgeois style, with a koi pond and camping chairs (P7-9, 11). It is very comfortable to drink tea and enjoy the breeze. There is an observation deck on the second floor. We checked in at night, and the night view was beautiful. During the day, refer to P8, 12-13, 1001🇨🇳 is also in time for the National Day When I checked out, I happened to encounter a truck transporting hot spring water (P14). The proprietress said that the store is close to the parking lot and transports it at least twice a day. The hot spring water released from the hot spring is all hot spring water. The temperature when it is transported is 50 degrees +, lower left corner It is the passage for transportation into each room of the hotel. It is imported from the truck with a hose. We were so busy watching this process that we forgot to take pictures hahh😂 I would also like to mention Yunman·Xi’s mascot (P15) - September (named September because they picked up a stray cat in September). It is a super beautiful silver gradient folded ear and very cute. Small, not afraid of life I stayed for one night and had a good rest. The proprietress and the ladies were very nice. I recommend everyone to choose their home and go to the hot springs again next time♨️"

"This hotel, located on a dedicated floor within an apartment building, truly exceeded our expectations in terms of design, service, and ambiance. My parents especially loved the complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails offered daily. The room's design and layout were very well thought out and practical. The WeChat concierge service was incredibly responsive and always ready to help! The location is fantastic, less than 2 km from the Shanxi Museum, and next to a shopping mall. We even caught a movie when it rained, and there are plenty of dining options nearby – super convenient!"

"When checking in, the front desk warned me about potential noise at night. I thought it was just the street food stalls downstairs and didn't pay much attention, especially since changing hotels at the last minute would have been a hassle. Turns out, it was the bar downstairs! Every night after 10 PM, they'd start singing, and it was incredibly difficult to bear. Lying in bed, I could clearly hear every song, the bass penetrated the floor, and the windows rattled. I complained to the front desk, but they just shrugged, told me to bear with it, and said they usually stop after 1 AM... Cleanliness: The toilet was very dirty upon check-in... After lifting the toilet seat, I could see yellow stains... The picture was taken after I'd already cleaned some of it myself."
