"I stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!"

"My stay at the Yinchuan Marriott this time was very comfortable, and I must particularly commend the front desk staff, Geng Wei. She was warm and attentive throughout the check-in process, patient and meticulous, providing an excellent communication experience. The bellhop service was thoughtful and proactive, handling luggage promptly and securely. The entire service team was highly professional.
The room layout was well-proportioned and comfortable, with good lighting and ventilation, and it was spotlessly clean. Although some facilities weren't the newest, they were well-maintained and functioned smoothly. The bedding was soft, ensuring a very good rest experience.
The self-service breakfast offered a rich variety, combining Chinese and Western options, including local specialties, hot dishes, pastries, drinks, and fruits – all delicious. The hotel's location is convenient for travel and sightseeing, and the public areas are elegant and well-maintained. Overall, the attention to service details was exceptional, and the team was very dedicated. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Yinchuan. Highly recommended!"

"Overall, it was a very satisfying and enriching experience. The hotel is located in the Tengger Desert, and before coming, I honestly didn't expect the cleanliness to be so good – it was incredibly clean. I've stayed in a Meliá 'Starry Sky Room' for almost 2,000 RMB a night, and I feel the cleanliness here was comparable; not a single grain of sand, pristine white bedding, and the desert right outside the door. It had a private bathroom and a smart toilet, very clean. The room was a bit small, but for a desert location, I was perfectly happy with the conditions. As for the service, they provided pick-up and drop-off many times. When my child felt unwell after an activity, the owner even came to pick us up, ensuring you didn't have to walk an extra step. When leaving, they took us right to our car. They were incredibly responsive to every request. Regarding the hotel's arrangements, I personally felt they were very enriching. The 'star study' and 'straw checkerboard' activities were very meaningful. There were fireworks at night. Finally, about the activities: my husband tried every single one and said the 'Blade' was very thrilling. My child and I only tried the 'Wave Car' and camel riding. I personally get a bit carsick. For those who are timid, afraid of heights, or sensitive to weightlessness, it's worth checking these activities thoroughly. Phones are not allowed on any of these activities, including camel riding, so I couldn't take any photos. Overall, for this price, I am very satisfied with the service. The only dissatisfaction was the very poor attitude of the parking lot security guard, but of course, that's not within the hotel's responsibility."

"As soon as the kids were out for summer break, we quickly booked a desert hotel. It was less crowded, and the experience was great. During the weekdays, dinner is à la carte, but on weekends and during the summer holidays when it's busier, dinner becomes a buffet. The à la carte dining was reasonably priced, with home-style cooking. Bottled water was complimentary and readily available. The hotel staff were all very friendly. When we took the kids to Shapotou, the hotel helped arrange a taxi for convenient pick-up and drop-off. The hotel offered a wide range of family-friendly activities, which the kids really enjoyed."

It was really terrible; it might just be a hardware issue with that particular room."

It's an established five-star hotel, and the service, from the front desk to the rooms and even the lobby bar I visited, was excellent. Every staff member greeted me with a smile and provided attentive service. It was a fantastic experience. I also really appreciated the sour plum juice at the front desk – a glass of it instantly quenched my thirst upon entering the hotel on a hot summer day! "Highly recommend the Hampton by Hilton Zhongwei! Our stay was excellent.
The hotel's location is super convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to get around and explore. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was spotless and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was great, so we slept really well. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted good. Overall, it's fantastic value for money. Check-out and invoicing were also very fast, and they even helped us register our license plate for free parking.
It's perfect for both leisure and business travelers. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Zhongwei!"

GGuest UserAlthough the hotel is not particularly new, it has complete facilities and the surrounding environment is relatively good and quiet. The heating and air conditioning are sufficient, giving southerners a full sense of security. There are also many types of breakfast, and in order to avoid waste, they are very considerate and cut into small pieces. When breakfast is about to end, they will knock on the door of each room to ask if you have eaten breakfast. The service was very good and enthusiastic. The air conditioner was already on when I checked in. The lady at the front desk also helped to deliver the luggage to the room and explained the precautions very considerately.

The only drawback was the lack of fast charging in the entire parking lot, with only three slow charging stations. Many electric vehicle models couldn't be charged there and had to be driven 8 kilometers to the township power supply station to charge.

GGuest UserA very artistic homestay with a very tasteful decoration style. Every decoration is just right, and even the breakfast is so exquisite. There were only two breakfasts originally, but we brought children with us, so the boss made a special breakfast for children, which was so thoughtful! There is also a beautiful souvenir. Although it was opened in 2018, the whole homestay does not seem to be old, and it is still as new. It is a great experience. I recommend it to friends!

Taking advantage of the off-peak season, I came alone to experience the Yellow River Homestay. Each homestay has a different decoration style. I chose Xipo on the recommendation of my friend and was very satisfied. The facilities and services corresponding to this price are really worth it. The price of two nights in the off-season is equivalent to the price of a normal night. The hair dryer is Dyson, and the toiletries are all from the laboratory. There are also beer + drinks in the mini bar, freshly ground coffee, and freshly made bread (forgot to take a picture). The sea salt rolls are super delicious, and the scones are also good, not sweet at all, which suits my taste.
The whole homestay is very quiet, close to the Yellow River, and there are trails. If there are many people at night, you can drink, eat barbecue and watch the stars by the Yellow River.
The service of private butler Xiaoying is really excellent. She will contact the guests about three days before you check in and help arrange some matters, such as car pick-up, introduction of food, drink and entertainment nearby, food, drink and entertainment in Zhongwei, and travel photography needs. She will also recommend it. After check-in, she will also take meticulous care of the guests. She deserves 100 points. Such a niche place is highly recommended for family and couple travel. GGuest UserThe hotel's exterior aesthetic is definitely on point, and the small decor outside each room is perfect for photos. You can easily spend half a day exploring the surrounding farms and the Ming Great Wall. The entire Yellow River Homestay complex also offers a good variety of businesses.
However, the interior of the room was quite disappointing. While they claim the dim lighting is for stargazing, I personally don't believe a vanity light would significantly impact the night sky. The dim lighting coupled with the square room shape, to put it nicely, made it feel a bit like a creepy escape room. You couldn't even see your face clearly in the mirror, and I imagine children would be quite scared.
The cleanliness was also subpar. The air conditioner panel was covered in a layer of grime, making the numbers illegible. There were two giant millipedes in the bathtub, which no one seemed to care about. They said they crawled up from the drain, but isn't blocking drains standard procedure for hotels now?
One of the bedside lamps was broken, the desk lamp switch had fallen onto the floor, and the TV power cord wasn't plugged in. It felt like they expected guests to discover all these issues themselves.
They also forgot to send the evening dessert. The explanation was that we checked in too late, past the designated time. However, during check-in, we clearly heard them asking other guests if they wanted evening milk. (Though, I'm lactose intolerant and don't drink milk anyway, and they did compensate by sending coffee promptly the next day).
Furthermore, when guests raised issues, the hotel staff always tried to defend themselves first instead of readily admitting to problems. Their customer complaint handling definitely needs improvement.
