Romantic Hotels in Anhui, China

On the first day, it rained almost continuously during our hike, so we missed many scenic spots. Even with raincoats, we got soaked, cold, wet, tired, and disappointed. However, as soon as we arrived at this hotel, a staff member named Xiao Ye provided almost one-on-one service. She escorted us to our room, turned on the heating, and thoughtfully advised us on how to dry our clothes and shoes. She also gave us detailed tips for the next day's hike, which became the highlight of our day. It's not easy to build a hotel on a mountaintop, but they were well-prepared with heating, shoe dryers, umbrellas, flashlights, and down jackets. In the evening, the hotel staff put on a performance, and early the next morning, there was a guided sunrise tour. Unfortunately, it was foggy, so we didn't see the sunrise, which was a bit of a letdown for our Huangshan trip. However, the excellent service at Baiyun Hotel exceeded my expectations. If I come again, this will definitely be my first choice.

First off, I have to point out something odd: in a hotel in Hefei, the decorative map in the room (picture 7) was actually a map of Anqing (facing west). A bit out of place! **Facilities:** The separate shower and toilet are great. The room also had a projector, smart toilet, and electric curtains – very modern overall. However, the air conditioning's auto mode seemed to be broken; it wouldn't blow air, so I had to manually set it to heat. **Hygiene:** Very clean. There were alcohol wipes and disposable toilet seat covers next to the toilet, and all the personal hygiene products were well-stocked. Overall, it was clean, bright, and odor-free. **Environment:** The modern decor was fresh and bright. It's about a five-minute walk to the nearby BRT and subway stations, making transportation convenient. However, the soundproofing for the toilet and shower area near the room's entrance wasn't great; I could clearly hear loud conversations from the next room. **Service:** The front desk staff were very friendly. Check-in was super easy; you just scanned a mini-program QR code at the front desk. The restaurant was closed for the holiday, and even though I booked a room without breakfast, the front desk kindly provided a small pastry and milk as a complimentary breakfast.

My stay at Xihai Hotel during my Huangshan trip far exceeded my expectations! Located at an altitude of 1600 meters in the core scenic area, I just had to open my window to see unique pines, strange rocks, and a surging sea of clouds. The service was amazing: the butler was attentive throughout, proactively sending weather updates and sunrise times, and even planning my routes. They even provided down jackets for climbing free of charge – the attention to detail was exceptional. The restaurant buffet offered a wide variety, and the Huizhou cuisine was authentic; to find this quality high up in the mountains was a delightful surprise. The location is incredibly convenient, close to the Grand Canyon, Paiyun Pavilion, Danxia Peak, and 'Monkey Gazing at the Sea' – no long commutes needed to catch the sunrise and sunset. To stay this comfortably at the summit of Huangshan is incredibly good value! I'll definitely stay here again next time, highly recommended!

This stay was so comfortable! The hotel is super conveniently located, a 7-minute walk from the snack street, and surrounded by supermarkets and restaurants. The room was clean and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the noise-free nights were quiet, allowing for a wonderful night's sleep. Junjun's service was friendly and efficient, and the check-in was quick. He also offered tips for visiting the scenic spots. Every attention to detail was meticulous, with separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, and no odor. It's an excellent value, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in this city!

My experience at the InterContinental Hefei this time was fantastic! Service manager Maria was incredibly helpful, providing attentive butler service throughout my stay. The room had a great view, overlooking the lake and Intime City. The round bathtub facing the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an absolutely stunning view. The location is absolutely top-notch. It's a 10-minute walk to the Hefei Grand Theatre, and a 15-minute taxi ride directly to the high-speed rail station. Plus, Intime City is right across the street, making it super convenient to grab a Kwangka bubble tea during an evening stroll.

Negative: - staffs English is not good, they still use cellphone translation - response time at reception for a a keycard replacement was slow - you can see that the corners in the rooms and bar are not thorough cleaned and that although it’s a fairly new hotel, it already looks a little run down here and there - in one of two rooms has been smoked before, although it’s a nonsmoking floor - waiter at breakfast argued that the water will cool down when I asked for cold water and he brought hot, instead of bringing cold water when I asked. After further arguing he finally brought a cup of cold water. - hotel cannot issue an invoice or fapiao so you have to go via Ctrip, which is an additional annoying step Positive: - got a WeChat contact who spoke English and was very helpful and asked if I want to change the room with the smoke smell - breakfast is great - elevators are arriving fast - view is great Have not tried the pool or gym.

We had a lovely stay at Yujian No.8 in Huangshan Tunxi Old Street. The room was very spacious and beautifully designed with an artistic and elegant touch, creating a warm and unique atmosphere. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Tunxi Old Street. It was very convenient to simply step outside and enjoy walking along the historic street, exploring the shops, local snacks, and the charming surroundings. The butler service was excellent. They kindly helped us arrange transportation to Huangshan Scenic Area and also to the railway station, which made our travel very smooth and convenient. They also provided great recommendations for delicious local food. Their warm hospitality truly made our stay more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful experience and a perfect place to stay while visiting Huangshan.

The lady at the front desk was so kind and offered very attentive service! The room was spotless, with a great wet/dry bathroom separation. The TV comes with a Tencent VIP membership, which is fantastic for watching current shows in super clear quality! The breakfast was quite rich and varied, with beef noodles and sweet fermented rice with red beans – so delicious! It's close to the light rail station, making travel convenient, and there's a lounge on the first floor. Plus, there's a convenience store nearby. All in all, a pleasant surprise!

Due to the rain, we were slow getting up the mountain and arrived at the hotel after dark. Housekeeper Xu met us at the entrance, immediately offered ginger tea to prevent colds, and thoughtfully arranged a family-friendly scenic room with three beds. She then led us all the way to our warm and comfortable room. Many thanks! 👍

I'm giving this five stars. First, let me address the downsides: 1. Hotels in Huangshan are incredibly expensive during holidays. It was 2000 RMB a night during the Qingming Festival. The buffet is 180 RMB, and kids under 140cm are half price. So, check your wallet first. 2. This hotel is great for kids, but there's no elevator, so seniors will have to walk up several flights of stairs. Now for the advantages: 1. It's expensive for a reason. Firstly, the hotel is relatively new and well-equipped. You have to remember that Bright Summit is at an altitude of 1860 meters, and all along the way, I saw porters carrying supplies. It's incredibly difficult to transport so many goods to the mountaintop. During holidays, when it's crowded, finding a comfortable hotel and spending two days hiking Huangshan is truly rejuvenating. 2. The kids loved it! The hotel has a great design. Right outside our room on the fourth floor, there was a Mario character sitting there, which my son adored. The arcade machines in the lobby are free, and kids were constantly gathered around them. Even adults from the '80s generation would spend ages playing. 3. I thought the 180 RMB buffet was pretty good; all the dishes tasted great. The cured meats like bacon and sausage were very authentic, and there was fermented tofu (Mao Doufu) and many other local specialties. The food was genuinely delicious. After a day of hiking, you're ravenous, and I ate a lot of short ribs, prawns, and warm kudzu powder (with a bit of fried rice, honey, and raisins – a real comfort for my stomach). I especially loved their pie-like pastry; it was so good, with preserved vegetables inside and what seemed like highland barley flour for the crust. My son is 140cm, so he got half price, making it 270 RMB for both of us, which is actually cheaper than ordering à la carte outside. 4. Originally, I wanted to stay at Bright Summit and Baiyun Pavilion to catch the sunrise. However, Danxia Peak near Paiyunlou offers excellent sunrise and sunset views, and crucially, it's less crowded and very close by. The hotel's 'little butler' (concierge) told me the sunrise and sunset times, with a 55% chance of seeing them. We were incredibly lucky during our stay and witnessed both morning and evening, leaving very satisfied. 5. From here, the next day, you can go to the West Sea Grand Canyon, take the small train, and then head down the mountain. Taste: Good Ambiance: Beautiful Service: Attentive
