The hotel upgraded our room, so it's a good idea to specify your room preferences. I put 'view priority' and ended up with a stunning vertical canyon view!
The hotel's spa is quite expensive.
If you plan to have dinner at the hotel, it's best to book it when you reserve your room. Adding dinner last minute is not cost-effective; for two people, with service charge, it came out to about 67 OMR. The dinner wasn't as lavish as I had expected.

Our stay at Anantara was okay but nothing more. To start with something positive, the staff was really friendly and attentive which was great! Breakfast was outstanding as well and the architecture od the hotel was beautiful. Other things, however, were simply not good enough for the price you pay. Firstly, no one was at the entrance to greet us when we arrived with our car. We had to find the parking and get back to the hotel ourselves which is definitely not standard for a 5-star hotel. At check-in, they just assumed that my name (Alexandra) is a male name and didn‘t even talk to me, just to my partner. I would expect for them to get that this is a female name or just ask who uf us this is. The welcome was overall very hectic, the guy who showed us to our room was friendly, but extremely stressed and rushed. There are no showers at the pool which is not very hygenic. In the evening at the bar, they served the red wine way too warm. Also, you never, ever serve 250ml of wine all in one glass. In the same bar, they played really loud party music which was such a pity and quite inappropriate and somehow destroyed the ambiance. How about some discreet music such as jazz, classical music etc. which fits the vibe of the scenery/mood way better? Moving on to our room, the shelf in the shower where you can put your shampoo bottles was broken and losely fixed. Overall, a lot of things were not 5-star hotel like and disappointed us. If you pay $700 for one night, you can expect more. We would not visit again.

The location of IntercityHotel Nizwa is great, situated just off the highway leading into the Nizwa city area. It is located right beside a large mall on one side and a Lulu Hypermarket on the other. The hypermarket features a McDonald's, which was the only fast food outlet open for drive-through at 11am during Ramadan.
Parking is plentiful in front of the hotel. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and we were granted a late check-out upon request. The room is standard but adequate, with no noise issues. Both the shower pressure and water temperature were satisfactory. The air conditioning also worked well. The room that we stayed in has an interesting map of the Nizwa region on the wall behind the bed, which was a nice detail. Bottled water is provided and topped up promptly upon request. This hotel is a good choice for an overnight stay in Nizwa.

LiumengxuanThe hotel is excellent. The architectural style makes you feel as if you're in the Swiss mountains 🇨🇭. It's very convenient for getting around, and there's plenty of parking. It's just a five-minute walk to the mosque, Nizwa Souq, and Nizwa Fort.
The service is top-notch. The front desk staff were very patient and explained all the hotel's amenities. They also invited guests to join the hotel's membership club, which offers a 20% discount on every stay and purchase.
Facilities: The hotel consists of three buildings, with separate areas for men and women. The gym has floor-to-ceiling windows, making for a perfect workout experience 🏋️. I booked a special offer room and, to my surprise, it even included a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The decor is simple, stylish, and highly functional. The hotel also has a lovely fragrance.
Service: Room service was excellent! The staff thoughtfully helped me with my luggage, which I really appreciated ❤️.
Highly recommend bringing family and friends for a gathering here!

The Resort was a very pleasant stay and an excellent stopover on our way to NIZWA.
Host gave us a tour and showed us around the private zoo that he owns and he is an extremely friendly person.
If returning to same area, I would definitely stay again at his place and highly recommend this Resort.

Beautiful location within the reach of a mountain range, generally calm and peaceful but close to a highway. The hotel itself is rather clean but as a whole, it is visibly worn by time. Staff is helpful and kind. Also, the food offered in the restaurant downstairs is really nice.

The hotel is located in a somewhat remote area, and it's clearly an old-fashioned resort hotel. The service was excellent; I called ahead to arrange early check-in, and the hotel cooperated smoothly. The breakfast was also good, but the facilities were a bit outdated, and the shower faucets were rusty.

A magnificent stay at The View. It’s definitely an adventure to get to the hotel through bumpy roads however the location is absolutely breathtaking. For those looking for sublime views after a day of canyoning and adventuring around Jebel Shams. You will not regret your stay. The hotel itself is very well equipped and the food options are diverse especially in the evening when a buffet is available. The staff is so welcoming and helpful, we appreciate especially Richard’s (Manager) help throughout our stay. On top of it all, if you don’t mind a cold swim - one of the most beautiful pools I have ever seen !

The hotel is high up in the mountain, a good place to stay to see Diana view point and it’s rather cold up there.

Except for too many mosquitoes, everything else was very good. There was a female manager in the lounge? Or someone in some other position, but her attitude was a bit strange. The staff in other restaurants and hotels were very nice, and I even bought a drink.
I haven't played indoor rock climbing, but I have completed outdoor rock climbing! Butt slides are useful. If you feel that there is no place to step, just lower your center of gravity and slide down. There was water in the cave, and two Gulf guys in the same group fell down. I slid down steadily. Although my pants were ruined, it was really stable and I didn't fall.
I will come back again! P.S. If you book both Alila and Annatara at the same time, find a driver outside the hotel to pick you up, pay attention to the price. I found a driver to pick me up from Muscat to the foot of the mountain, and another driver from the foot of the mountain to the hotel. The price of this part is reasonable. But the price between the two hotels is slightly higher. It costs 20omn to find Alila to pick up from Annatara to the hotel, and 15 for the driver outside.
