"The DoubleTree by Hilton Christchurch is excellent in every aspect. It's very close to Christchurch city center and the Botanic Gardens, and the surroundings are beautiful. Even though it was winter, you could tell the hotel's maintenance and facilities were very well-kept. The breakfast selection was also quite varied. Overall, I was very satisfied!"

"This is a very luxurious and expansive hotel with many rooms. Staff helped us with our luggage to our room, which was quite a long walk. The room itself was huge, featuring a living room, a dining table, and a small door leading to an outdoor area. The surroundings were lovely with plenty of greenery. Breakfast was standard, but the female server in the restaurant had a very poor attitude, acting flippant and chatting with colleagues throughout her shift. Other staff members, however, were very friendly, and there's a free shuttle service to the airport."

"The hotel is fairly centrally located (about a 15 minute walk), but at the same time in a quiet area. The room was huge, for lack of a better term - it's basically a lounge, a twin room and a double room. Not sure if that's actually the room I booked or an upgrade. At any rate, it was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The outer design is also very nice. There's also afternoon tea for free from 15:30 till 16:30. The price is not particularly low, but all things considered it's value for money (only 25-30% more expensive than a private room in a hostel), especially if more than one person is staying. All in all, a great option, if your budget allows it."

"I had a great stay there. I arrived very early but I could leave my backpack in the reception and also use the facility such as kitchen. The staff was very helpful. Some rooms have very nice view. It was best place to chill. Also you can rent a bike around $5/1h or $15/4h. I enjoyed the ride to the Mt Fyfee carpark and did a little hiking:)"

"This hotel location is superb right opposite The village city central. Everything is good EXCEPT no air con which is really hot in summer month …all 4 of us didn’t sleep well as is too hot- they only provide a standing Fan. I think winter month stay is ok."

When I checked into the hotel that day, the front desk lady was very enthusiastic, introduced the basic situation of the hotel, and specially said that the door was closed at night, how to open the door, and then introduced the parking spot for the Christchurch bus, and walked less.

The grounds are well-maintained, clean, and spacious, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers. The facilities are excellent, with modern amenities including clean bathrooms, well-equipped kitchens, and comfortable communal areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I especially appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the variety of accommodation options available, from powered sites to cozy cabins. Highly recommend this holiday park for anyone visiting Christchurch

We stayed in Tekapo for two days to stargaze and visit Mount Cook, and chose to stay at Godley. Overall, it was a great experience! 👍 The location is fantastic; it's right by the lake, and our room offered lovely lake and mountain views. The Church of the Good Shepherd is also just a stone's throw away. There's a large supermarket within a few minutes' walk, and both the Intercity bus stop and the stargazing shuttle are conveniently located nearby. The room was quite spacious and had heating, which made it wonderfully warm at night. On our first day, the front desk even invited us to the hotel's evening concert, which was a very thoughtful touch, though we couldn't make it due to a schedule conflict. If I ever get the chance to return to this charming town, I'd definitely consider staying here again.

All were good, the location is very near to the city center. Although the parking was a bit narrow, we were able to park in front of our unit safely.
The kitchenette was rather small and dont have a complete utensils like chopping board, but we managed with whatever provided. There was no hood as well so when we were cooking, the smoke alarm went on for a while, we had to open our front door while cooking because the ventilation was not the best. But overall it was fine.

I had a great stay there. I arrived very early but I could leave my backpack in the reception and also use the facility such as kitchen. The staff was very helpful. Some rooms have very nice view. It was best place to chill. Also you can rent a bike around $5/1h or $15/4h. I enjoyed the ride to the Mt Fyfee carpark and did a little hiking:)
