Hotel near Independence Beach,Sihanoukville
With stunning views over the Gulf of Thailand, Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort is a true beachfront haven offering contemporary accommodation, elevated dining with an authentic Khmer touch, and family-focused facilities, as well as direct access to popular and peaceful Independence Beach. Conveniently located for visits to Cambodia's stunning islands and just 2.5 hours from the capital Phnom Penh.

"Novotel Sihanoukville – My Honest Review I recently stayed at Novotel Sihanoukville with my family, and unfortunately, the overall experience was below my expectations. The first issue was the hotel's policy on outside food and drinks. There is a sign clearly stating that outside food and beverages are not allowed. However, it doesn't seem to be enforced. The corridor on my floor was constantly filled with strong food smells, and even my kids' room was affected. The smell became so unpleasant that I had to request the hotel to spray the room. I also noticed that some rooms appeared to have more than five guests staying together. I'm not sure whether the hotel allows this or whether it is being monitored properly. I strictly followed the hotel policy and booked two rooms for my family, so it felt a little unfair if others were not following the same rules. As for the food, both the seafood dinner buffet and breakfast were just average. They were acceptable, but they did not meet the standard I normally expect from an Accor hotel. The room itself was comfortable enough, but the bathroom ventilation needs improvement. Whenever someone used the toilet, the smell spread throughout the entire room because the exhaust ventilation was not effective. The biggest highlight of my stay was definitely the hotel staff. Every team member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. From the reception team to the restaurant staff and the swimming pool bar crew, they consistently provided excellent service. They were the best part of our stay. One major disappointment was the swimming pool. The water did not look clean, and it discouraged me from swimming. This was something I really did not expect from a Novotel property. Overall, I left feeling that the hotel has good potential, especially because of its excellent staff, but the facilities and overall maintenance need improvement. With better enforcement of hotel policies, cleaner facilities, improved ventilation, and higher food quality, I believe the guest experience could be much better. Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars."

"The pros: The room is like an apartment, it has everything including a kitchen and a washing machine, which is great. However, the view of the neighboring hotel just 4 meters away isn't ideal. On the other side, there's a quarry with water and trash, so I recommend getting a sea view. There's a pool on the roof, but nothing else. It's very windy up there, and the pool water is green, which is definitely a negative. Downstairs, there are two shops nearby, but they don't have much selection. There's no restaurant or cafe, and no motorbike rentals, but there are car rentals and responsive staff who will always call a tuk-tuk or taxi for you. I'd suggest the management update the decor a bit, take better care of the pool, add wind screens, maybe a small cafe on the roof, and offer motorbike rentals 👍, as there's nothing else nearby… just a suggestion though… The price was good at 1100 rubles per night 👍"

"Apsara Resort Koh Rong is perfect for those who love a quiet, romantic escape. The atmosphere is very peaceful, especially at night, making it ideal for couples or anyone looking to truly unwind. "This hotel is an absolute paradise, where you can forget all your worries! We were met at the pier and helped with our luggage (even though the hotel is a 3-minute walk from the pier and there's a paved road). Our family room for four was a two-room suite with two double beds. The only downside is that the white, ornate furniture, upon closer inspection, is quite scuffed. Also, the shower is only separated by a partition on one side, so water splashes onto the floor from the other. Otherwise, everything in the room is great. The bedding and towels are clean, there's bottled drinking water, and you can get additional water from the fridge at reception anytime. Each room, as well as the restaurant, has foot showers. The included breakfasts are delicious, offering fried eggs, pancakes or waffles, pastries, ham, cheese, sausages, rice or noodles with vegetables, and a large selection of fruits (mango, pineapple, orange, passion fruit, papaya, dragon fruit, watermelon). Lunches and dinners from the à la carte menu at the restaurant are also very good. The restaurant always has a pleasant atmosphere, sea views, and tables right by the beach. On some evenings, there's live music and a BBQ on the beach. Nearby in the village, there are other cafes of varying standards; the local ones are cheaper and tasty too, but the decor and service suffer. In the second half of our stay, we stopped looking for variety and only ate at the hotel restaurant. The hotel beach is simply magical! Super white sand, turquoise clear water! There were always enough sun loungers. There are free paddleboards and kayaks, table tennis, and giant chess. The pool has plenty of inflatable rings, toys, and armbands for small children, which I saw people also take to the sea. There's also a cool surf club with an artificial wave. It's paid (I think $25 per hour), but we each received a card for a free hour of lessons during specific times. Our teenage son was thrilled. The restaurant has board games. The hotel also offers boat and tuk-tuk excursions. We took a private boat trip with snorkeling, fishing, BBQ, sunset viewing at sea, and glowing plankton. We didn't take the tuk-tuk as we decided there was no better beach than ours here. There's a massage parlor on the beach, with massages starting from $20 per hour, bookings at reception. We really enjoyed the massage. I heard doubts from others about this hotel due to a road running between the hotel and the beach, but it's not at all bothersome, as traffic on this road is minimal. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful with any requests. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel; it's worth the money and has everything for a wonderful and comfortable holiday."

"This hotel was okay but not great value for the price we paid. We ended up shortening the time here and spending another night at a near by hostel - think this shows the level of quality. The location is amazing but as is every beach front hotel/hostel on the strip. The pool here is nice but sun loungers could use an update as are quite dirty. The room is okay and has aircon, door didn’t fully shut so the curtains covering the door is covered with mosquitos trying to get in. We had to spray the gap in the door regularly with spray to keep them out. The shower was mid warm but low pressure and hung on the wall and had to hold in hand to keep up. The service at the front desk was fine but to the lowest standard we’ve had travelling. There was no added niceties or politeness. Check in took a while (20 mins) while there was no comment on why it was taking so long. Our room wasn’t even ready in this time period so we weren’t waiting for the room. Breakfast wasn’t great and they could really do with more staff. The poor waitress was run off her feet trying to clear plates, stock food and drinks back up but there was always big gaps. People were sitting at dirty tables with no cutlery just to sit down and start eating. Not the waitresses fault as she was working very hard just needed 3/4 more people. The privacy is nice but the amenities are worse than the hostels near by."

"The Sokha Beach Resort is an old fashioned 5-star resort hotel in colonial style, situated at the beachfront in Sihanoukville. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are well maintained and are spacious with a balcony . There is a nice nice swimming pool with sufficient sun beds. A good continental breakfast is served. WiFi was working flawless, even at the pool area. However, there are points that made us shorten our stay. The private beach of the hotel is clean daily. Unfortunately; this is not the fault of the hotel, waste water of the city is discharged untreated into the bay so that the water is yellowish, probably contaminated with human waste. There is an unpleasant foul smell everywhere. During day time, permanent noise from a big construction site right next to the hotel is incommoding . In spite of the pleasant big park that belongs to the hotel, the surrounding next to the resort is spoilt by high rise buildings of which some are still under construction or are half-finished. They intend to be mostly casinos. We found this environment unpleasant. No good, typical restaurants could be found in walking distance. Altogether Sihanoukville is a dire place for vacation, unless the visitor is in gambling and casinos."

Everything was perfect for my trip to this resort. It was a weekend, there were a lot of people. The room faced the sea, heard the sound of the waves, the night air was cool, but unfortunately the decorative lamp outside the room was damaged, making it dark around the room. But overall everything was good.

Bit of a mixed bag at this place but with some easy tweaks it could be perfection. Good : Location, beach is clean, food is tasty, bar prices are good and Nas the bar manager makes a great cocktail, breakfast is plentiful and varied, pool is clean, sun beds, towels and paddleboards are available. Bioluminescence plankton is visible but you have to swim out away from the bright resort lights. Bad : Room type Beach View Villa - Lots of mosquitos in the room as the bathroom is not sealed, would be good if they gave you a net for the bed and room spray as I got badly bitten overnight. Wifi is really bad, you only have 1 plug socket for the entire room which isn't next to the bed, the lights are either all on or all off (the wall lights are decoration apparently so aren't wired up) and again the switch isn't near the bed, and you have nowhere to hang clothes or swim wear to dry, a line or rack would be really useful. Basically without tweaks the beachfront villa are overpriced. The staff were incredibly helpful when trying to resolve issues. I would return but would book a Sea View Room which are slightly cheaper, sealed and had great WiFi.

We stayed in “Eden Beach Resort” and want to share our experience. Location is good because hotel has private pier, where the boat will take you from/to Sihanouk Ville. It was comfortable. I was impressed by the hotel green area as well 🌴 The hotel has their own water purification system, we drank tasty and fresh water everyday from reusable glass bottles. Unfortunately we had some inconveniences in the hotel during our stay there. Check in was a long time. We arrived on island 11 a.m. and waited check in 4 hours, 3 p.m. When we asked about a breakfast, we were told that breakfast not included this day, although previous hotels often went to meet us, and it was pleasant. Breakfast costs 12$ per person. Breakfasts was tasty but after few days I tired from it. I would like to pay your attention with strays. Cats and dogs were in diner zone, they are they itched and got in the way. It made Unpleasant impressions. I also want to say about some disadvantages about cleaning up rooms. In the morning time, when we spent time on the beach, our room wasn’t clean. If we went to walk, we asked the staff about cleaning our room. One day we didn’t ask about cleaning and we were left without cleaning 🤷🏾♀️ There were 4 towels in the room: 2 big towels, 2 small towels, which for face and hair (I think) but we used this towels for feet because there were no extra towels. Totally staff working is good. Especially was pleasant administrator from Russian (as well as I remember Alex, but I can mistake). He helped our friends immediately (they had a problem with a safe and ordered double cleaning room because there is a lot of sand). What about attractions? The beach is good, near the hotel is clean but you should be ready for sand flyers. Oh Jesus! We were fully bited by them. Therefore our skin was swollen. At the hotel you can rent a kayak. One day we paid 5 $ per hour. Then we were explained that it is necessary to pay only if there is the queue. During check out we were waiting checking the rooms about 10 minutes. It’s not good 😁 a lot of more hotels refused this process. Our final review. Despite the some disadvantages our weekend in this hotel left a good impression. Place is beautiful, good, calm. There is a small work to improve the part of the service and cleaning, as well as control of the state of the territory and animals.

Our room was just a few metres away from the beach and the food and service here is 5stars. ATTENTION!!! THERE ARE LOTS OF BIG DOGS AT THE HOTEL AND ALL OVER THE ISLAND!!!! IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO WALK AROUND AND RELAX!!! The hotel is located on a long white sandy beach. The rivers near the hotel don't stain the sand, and the sand is soft with no stones or coral fragments. There are no corals or sea urchins near the hotel. Transfer from the pier is arranged. The rooms are clean, with daily housekeeping and towel changes. Wonderful à la carte breakfasts with a wide selection. There's no kettle or fridge in the room, but you can get hot water at the bar. There are a few mosquitoes, but nothing major. There are several cafes and a couple of shops nearby. Next door, there's an ATV rental where you can arrange transfers to other beaches. The beach on the other side of the island has very beautiful corals.

Outstanding Luxury Experience – New Year Celebration (31 Dec 2025 – 1 Jan 2026) I stayed at this hotel to celebrate New Year from 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from all the staff. Every team member was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating, making us feel valued and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel truly feels like a palace. Based on my personal experience, it is much better and more luxurious than Sokha Sihanouk Hotel and Independence Hotel, where I usually stay. It even offers the same level or more luxury than Try Palace in Kep. Every detail reflects quality—from the door handles to the bed, everything feels premium and well-designed. All facilities and equipment are modern, luxurious, and very clean. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, including a separate bathtub, shower/steam room, and toilet, which made the stay even more comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was the generosity: • Soft drinks and fresh fruits were plentiful and completely free • The breakfast for special for the New Year celebration, breakfast manu • They even offered free breakfast for my two children, even though they were over the usual free age limit — a very kind gesture The location is perfect, with what I believe is the best beach in Sihanoukville. The sand is incredibly clean, smooth, and soft—like ground powder—and the beach area is well maintained. I accidentally took their room key, the hotel staff were extremely understanding. They were not upset at all and kindly allowed me to return it on my next visit to Sihanoukville, which shows their trust and professionalism. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It is far more luxurious than Sokha and Independence Hotel, and easily ranks among the best luxury hotels I have stayed at in Cambodia. I will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true luxury experience, especially for special celebrations

My friends told me that this place is not what it used to be. I didn't like the manager's attitude towards me as a tenant. On the first day, I asked to extend my stay for one night, and he came to me without warning. I was eating at the time. Secondly, there is no soundproofing here. Every conversation you have will be heard from the hallway. Also, if for some reason you need to go to bed late, be prepared to be woken up early. The bedding really leaves something to be desired, but I had my own bedding. The kitchen area had good ventilation. All the dishes are provided. There is a pot, but no stove. My sink drain was clogged with someone else's hair. It had been there for so long that mold had formed on it, but no one was going to clean it up, so I did. I'm not a pig, and I'm not going to live in filth. The bathroom is extremely small. Bathrooms like this need a different kind of renovation, not the one that's currently being done. What upset me the most was the moment of my eviction. I notified the manager of my departure time a day in advance. It was fixed. He asked me twice because I wrote a complicated sentence in English. I should have used simpler English. But the next day, when I was checking out, I asked to be escorted to my car because I had a lot of bags. But the manager said he was not at the hotel and there was no one there at the moment. No one could help me. I am a strong girl. It is not difficult for me to cope with this on my own. The problem was that when the car arrived, the security guard said he would not allow me to load my belongings into the car without confirmation of my eviction. And I wasted my time waiting for clarification of the circumstances. On the positive side, I liked that the pool was always warm and very large. There is also a shopping center nearby.
