"This hotel delivers everything you want from a family holiday. Although it is situated away from the centre of the village, we found this to be an advantage for our family, preferring a quiet location. Only 5 mins walk to the Chuo main terminal, where you can catch the free local shuttle bus to the ski fields. Getting to the hotel from Iiyama station was also easy via Nagaden Bus No.9 from bus stop 2, which drops you off right outside the hotel (last stop). We had breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was exceptional with a different Japanese 10-course menu every night. We also added the optional extras which had horse meat one night, and A5 wagyu on other nights. Onsite onsen was great after a full day's worth of skiing. We also found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly, and Yumi was on hand to help with any odd requests. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable holiday experience!"

I also recommend booking the silk bath early; having it to myself for nearly an hour was fantastic.
The hotel's location is also good, not far from Mu Pond Ski Resort, making transportation convenient.
What's worth complaining about is the service, which was genuinely subpar. There aren't many English-speaking staff, and communicating with some of the older female front desk staff felt difficult. Plus, the rooms aren't properly cleaned; the toilet and vanity aren't wiped down. They just make the bed and change some towels.
The hotel is a little old, and the facilities are just okay."

It has been favored and supported by many customers for a long time. The Ikenotaira Hotel will be born in spring 2023. In addition to a FOODHALL-type restaurant, a hot spring facility with a beautiful view of Shirakaba Lake.
"I stayed on the lake side of the 7th floor of the annex building, a renovated Japanese-Western style room. It was a tatami mats and twin beds, and a round low table and cushion by the window. It is a renovation that feels old here and there, and it is better not to see the bath in the room even if you do not use it. I don't use it, but it is a Showa bathroom. There are many families with small children, so it may be good if you are a family with babies that are difficult to travel. We were two middle-aged couples, so everything didn't go well. Next time, I will make a quiet room where I can eat quietly and make a bath hotel that doesn't run around. We stayed without checking well, so it can't be helped. The hotel itself is actively engaged in employment of foreigners, employment of disabled people, employment of locals, and I think we are very researching the menu of Viking dishes. Is it a hotel around Lake Shirakaba alone?"

The hotel room was much bigger than expected. The service was excellent and the Japanese breakfast was most tasty. Being so close to the Snow Monkey Park also helped a lot - after spending the day in the cold, it was nice to return to the hotel and warm up.

Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel & Resort is a perfect place for great views, relaxation and luxury retreat. We stayed on the top of the resort where the view of the Asama Mountain is breathtaking. The room is spacious but cozy. The dinners were very good. We stayed two nights (half board), the two fine-dining French dinners with local ingredients we had were superb. The courses served at the dinners didn’t have any repeat. I will definitely come here again for other seasons.

Guest UserI stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. The hotel was very clean overall, and the food was absolutely delicious! We also played tennis and mini golf, and the courts and greens were in great condition, making it very enjoyable. Plus, the surprise birthday cake I arranged was not only beautiful but also a delicious fruit shortcake that everyone loved. I will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!

The resort hotel on the mountain is not very convenient. You must drive by yourself. There is nothing to eat on the mountain. The most important thing is that the hotel hot spring is not in your own store. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the opposite bath. The hotel room is very old and the toilet is small. Older English design.
