Although the Shangri-La Hotel Fuzhou has been open for many years, it is exceptionally well-maintained. The public areas, corridors, and rooms are all spotless, with no signs of wear or an outdated smell. The entire hotel still carries that distinctive Shangri-La fragrance. Every detail in the room is meticulously cared for! Its elegant and upscale ambiance remains captivating. The TV is large, high-definition, and even has a rewind function, which is quite rare for international brand hotels. The bedding and furniture are very comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious and well-appointed! The swimming pool and gym are large, and the water temperature is perfect! Regarding dining, the Horizon Club's offerings are truly excellent, especially breakfast. Many of the à la carte options are delicious. I had planned to try the Chinese restaurant, Rongfu, but the generous breakfast each day filled me up so much that I couldn't make room for other dining options. All the staff do a fantastic job. The housekeeping aunties diligently clean the rooms every day, and the ladies at the Horizon Club are warm, attentive, and professional! Special mention goes to Cindy Weng, who approaches her work with passion every day, providing the most thoughtful service to guests! On our second day, we had to leave early for another city and didn't return until almost midnight. As the taxi approached, seeing the Shangri-La Hotel lit up brightly gave me a sudden sense of warmth. I knew that as soon as I stepped inside, the day's fatigue and the unease of being in a strange city late at night would instantly disappear. The Shangri-La Hotel's style is unique: noble, elegant, warm, meticulous, and thoughtful! Yes, for me, Shangri-La represents warmth!

I specifically flew to Quanzhou for the local cuisine, so I picked this hotel located on a food street, without breakfast included. It's perfect for solo travelers. There's a great local vermicelli soup shop nearby, which is perfect for breakfast. While the shops on the food street mostly cater to late-night crowds, there are plenty of delicious local specialties in the surrounding blocks. It's in a bustling area with excellent transportation links, making it easy to get to attractions around Zhongshan Street. Even if you're not into sightseeing, staying at the hotel is great too – the rooms are spacious and well-equipped, the lobby on the first floor is quite striking, and the service is very thoughtful. They even let you know in advance if some rooms might be affected by noise at night. It's definitely a hotel with amazing value for money!

The hotel's location is excellent, right on Zhongshan Road, making it very convenient to walk to Zhongshan Road and the Gulangyu ferry terminal. There's a wide variety of shopping and dining options nearby. The room facilities are also great, with a very thoughtful design. The staff are friendly and even escort guests to their rooms to explain how to use the amenities. The only downside is that most rooms don't have proper outward-facing windows; they are either faux windows or face an inner courtyard. Our window faced the inner courtyard and was essentially just for show.

The open-plan suite is located at the two ends of the floor, so it theoretically boasts a 270-degree view, which indeed turned out to be absolutely superb. Don't panic if you see a long queue in the lobby; you can check in at the executive lounge. Just head straight to the 33rd floor, where the enthusiastic lounge staff will bring you your preferred drinks. You can relax for a while, taking in the best panoramic view in all of Fuzhou, while the hotel takes care of all the check-in formalities for you, before you return to your room. The soft furnishings in both the room and public areas are very well-maintained. The room itself is spacious enough, and the sofa and bed are top-quality. All amenities are well-stocked and impeccable. The staff are all very warm and professional; both the housekeeping and lounge teams operate at a high standard for hotels of this caliber. Special mention goes to Xiao Sun from guest services, who was incredibly enthusiastic, thoughtful, and responsible, resolving all guest issues very quickly. The happy hour at the lounge offers enough food to fill you up completely. Although breakfast can be busy, it's well-managed with staff guiding guests to tables. They offer Fuzhou specialties like fish balls and 'rouyan' (meat swallows). The breakfast is among the most lavish I've seen for hotels of this standard – it's worth setting an alarm to get up early for. The laundry service for ironing clothes was incredibly fast. The gentleman who delivered my clothes back was always smiling, polite, and graceful; just seeing him could brighten your entire day.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Jinjiang Bridge, making it convenient to reach all the tourist attractions. It's situated within Quanzhou Taihe Plaza, so you can enjoy the night view of Jinjiang Bridge right from your bed. The front desk staff, especially the lovely lady, was incredibly thoughtful and efficient, quickly processing my check-in and patiently explaining all the hotel's facilities and services. The breakfast was fantastic! Besides the usual Western hotel breakfast, they offered a wonderful selection of delicious Quanzhou local specialties. I was very satisfied with my stay.

The old city and other scenic spots are pretty much the same – cars are restricted at certain times, so you have to walk over a hundred meters from where you get off to the hotel. Within my budget, this was the closest and best-value hotel. All the staff I encountered during my stay were really nice, and the cleaning ladies spoke so gently. The cleanliness was spot on. The room had great amenities, including disposable bathtub liners and toilet seat covers. A unique feature of this room type must be the small tea table. Are the chairs specially designed? I found it more comfortable to curl up and lean back in them. For Zhangzhou Old City, a day or two is enough to explore. After dropping off my luggage, I'd go out, and when I got tired, I'd come back to the hotel to rest before heading out again. For ginger duck, Lin Gen Hua's is good. For 'si guo tang' (four fruit dessert), the one next to the popular 'triangle guo' stall is excellent. As for 'tu sun dong' (sea worm jelly), I personally think the smaller ones taste better; the chopped-up worms in the larger ones don't have as good a texture as the whole, smaller ones.

The room was great, just like the pictures and videos I saw online. The hotel is quite large, so we had to take a shuttle whenever we went out, but the staff provided excellent service – the shuttle arrived promptly every time we called. The hotel's breakfast buffet is definitely worth mentioning; although the variety wasn't extensive, the food was delicious!

The room was clean and tidy, with a large window. The front desk staff were very friendly and arranged a high-floor room with a sea view for us. We didn't have time to try the complimentary late-night snack, but the breakfast was delicious. The Shacha noodles were particularly tasty and varied, really capturing the local flavor. They even had freshly ground coffee! The hotel is also conveniently located close to some popular spots in Jimei District. It was very quiet at night, and they even have robots delivering takeout.

We booked a 270° river view room. When we arrived, the previous guests had just checked out, and the front desk upgraded us to a suite directly. It was a bit of a shame, actually, because I originally wanted to book a suite when I made the reservation, specifically for the river view from that particular room. Luckily, everything else went smoothly. The elevator system in the hotel is a bit cumbersome; you have to go from the underground parking to the ground floor, then from the ground floor up to the 40th floor to check in, and then switch elevators again to go up to the 54th floor. However, there's a dedicated service for delivering food orders directly to your room. Another reason I booked this hotel was for the gym, but due to my schedule, I couldn't make it there, which was a bit disappointing. I missed out on the 'sky gym.' I didn't try the hotel breakfast, so I can't comment on its quality. The hotel's surroundings are very convenient, making it easy to get to various places. Every single staff member at the hotel is exceptionally good. No matter who it was or where they were, if they saw you carrying something, they would proactively ask and offer help. The turndown service was also excellent. Setting aside the hardware, their service awareness surpasses even the Waldorf Astoria in Xiamen. Attendant Xiao Yang's service was excellent and very thoughtful. The housekeeping auntie also had an outstanding service attitude; towel replenishment was prompt, and trash was collected in a timely manner. Really excellent. Special praise for the 'sky shower' – the water pressure was impressive. It was a very comfortable trip overall. However, there might be a significant mite problem with the hotel bedding. My baby developed rashes, which was a bit upsetting. Everything else was quite good.

This is genuinely the first time I've actively and wholeheartedly given a positive review. The hotel environment is absolutely fantastic, perfect for families with kids – they'll be entertained from morning till night. The hotel also offered so many perks that we couldn't even use them all. Plus, the hotel has a grand layout, which really sets it apart from other family-friendly hotels. The hotel upgraded our room to a waterside room in the main building. This is the first hotel I've ever encountered where you can pack up your buffet breakfast to go! It was incredibly convenient! One morning, the main building restaurant was full with a long queue, so I asked the butler if we could go to the Shuiyuan Restaurant instead. They agreed without hesitation and even arranged for a late check-out. Oh, and adult socks for the kids' club are provided for free! Many other family hotels charge 5 yuan per pair! This really shows their superior approach! We didn't have time to use the complimentary afternoon tea on the day it was offered, but they kindly extended it for us multiple times! Every detail, every request we had, was immediately addressed! They also provided swimming rings and sand toys. In short, with all these thoughtful details, the hotel truly has a big heart and a grand vision! My expectations for family hotels have definitely been raised! Now, for a couple of very minor personal suggestions that I think could be improved: The hotel is very large and primarily caters to families, so the kids' club could be even bigger, perhaps 1500 sq m, 2000 sq m, or even larger, aiming to be the largest kids' club among family hotels in China. I noticed that kids especially love the trampoline, but there's only one, which can lead to older kids without family supervision competing with younger children for it. Other than that, I have no more suggestions; the hotel has done an outstanding job.
