"The room itself was great, clean and tidy. I arrived on an early flight and didn't expect to be able to check in early, but was told I could come back at 11 AM to check in. Happy, I stored my luggage and went out to explore. When I returned to the hotel at 10:30 AM, I was told there would be an extra charge for early check-in. I then reminded the front desk that they had agreed to let me check in at 11 AM earlier that morning, and only then was I asked to wait a bit longer for check-in. This little hiccup was the only thing that dampened my mood, but everything else was really good. There are two large supermarkets around the hotel, and on the ground floor, there's a bakery and a Japanese dessert shop, so breakfast was easily sorted. The breakfast and lunch at the bakery were excellent; I ate there twice. The Japanese desserts were also delicious, and two people don't need to order too much. From the hotel room, you can see the mosque, which is truly beautiful."

"The hotel is located quite far from the city center, but it does provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is also not very close to the sea; however, this is not a major issue since swimming is prohibited at the nearby beaches anyway. Additionally, there are no cafes or shops within walking distance of the hotel, which makes the location even less convenient. The prices at the hotel’s cafe are overpriced. The hotel’s design feels somewhat outdated, but nothing critical. What was truly disappointing, however, was the service. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star property, yet it is surprisingly strict about a very basic necessity — drinking water. Guests are provided with only one bottle of water per person per day. There is coffee and tea available in the room, but to boil the kettle you need additional drinking water, which the staff refused to provide. They insisted that water had already been supplied during housekeeping and that no more was allowed. We had to keep asking for it as if they were personally paying for it themselves. That was extremely unpleasant. The tap water is yellow, and there were also issues with the hot water. Only one person works at the reception desk, which is clearly insufficient for a hotel with this many rooms, resulting in long waiting times. The reception staff are not knowledgeable about nearby attractions and do not assist with arranging tours, suggesting that guests find everything out on their own. Unfortunately, the overall service was extremely disappointing."

"We enjoyed our one-night stay with my friends. We stayed there for our hiking trip. They granted us a late check-out until 1:00 PM. Breakfast was alright. I wish they had soup options like corn or mushroom, and more fruit selections—there was only watermelon (not sweet) However, the main courses were delicious. Wi-Fi on Level 5 was not stable. The swimming pool was closed for some reason. We called the reception 3x, but no one picked up. Other than that, we were happy with our stay and would recommend it."

"When we arrived, the hotel offered a free shuttle service to the night market if we booked through them, which was super helpful! On the way back, they even took us to two mosques so we could get some great photos of the illuminations ✨ It was truly amazing service, I was so impressed! 🤩 Regarding breakfast... I wanted to try some local food, so I didn't book breakfast. When I asked the hotel staff for recommendations, they happily gave me a ton of suggestions for breakfast spots (and even wrote them down for me!)"

"The Empire Brunei truly exceeded my expectations, highly recommended! The breakfast buffet offered an incredible variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, all made with fresh, delicious ingredients – every meal was incredibly satisfying. The room was spacious and elegantly decorated, clean, and comfortably laid out, making for a truly relaxing stay. The hotel grounds are huge, with lush greenery and stunning ocean views. It's a quiet and therapeutic environment. The outdoor pool has crystal clear water and faces the sea directly, perfect for swimming and photos. Just a few steps away is the beach, ideal for leisurely walks and watching the sunset. My entire stay was flawless, with thoughtful service and excellent facilities. You absolutely must stay here if you visit Brunei!"

"The location was great. There's a decent-sized supermarket in the hotel's basement, which was super convenient since it's open late. "Excellent stay! The location is perfect—only a 5-minute drive from the airport—and the hotel provides complimentary airport transfers at any time of day, no matter when your flight arrives or departs, which is incredibly convenient. The staff were also outstanding: friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. Breakfast options are not extensive, but considering the very reasonable price, the quality and value are more than satisfactory. If there were a coin laundry facility available, the hotel would be even better. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay, especially for travelers needing quick airport access."
