I was informed by email in advance that there was a large event at the bar downstairs that day, but I didn't think it was so noisy. Rather than sound, the deep bass sound is very loud, and earplugs and noise canceling are really meaningless. I have cancer from 12:00 to 3:30 in the middle of the night. It was really painful. If you receive an email saying that there is a large event, cancellation is free, so we recommend cancellation.
The location is near a freight train hub, but it didn't bother us. The room was spacious and quite clean. The hotel owners cut corners on the decor: the walls in the hallway and parts of the room, as well as the ceilings, are bare concrete, not even plastered. Now they call it an 'original style' (chuckles). It's inconvenient that the sink is in the room, not in the bathroom. The room has bathrobes and slippers, but no disposable toothbrushes. There's a small electric kettle and a capsule coffee machine, but not even a single bottle of drinking water... Unexpected for a hotel that isn't exactly cheap. When booking, it wasn't mentioned anywhere that the hotel's underground parking costs 12 euros per night, which was also a surprise. Breakfasts are quite substantial, but there wasn't even simple oatmeal... The available food isn't very suitable for someone with gastritis...
The hotel’s location was perfect being infront of the central station and the tram stop. Its a few mins walk from the park and the pick up point of most tours going outside of Zagreb.
The room is a bit dated and there was only one elevator for the entire hotel which was also tiny and can accommodate just two people with luggage.
Our only unpleasant experience was during the buffet breakfast when a kitchen attendant was rude instead of being helpful.
The hote is an excellent location in central Zagreb. The rooms facing the street are really large and quite nice. There is a nice roof-top patio with views of some of the sites of the city. The breakfast was excellent. I appreciate that the staff were polite, responsive, and helpful. I would stay there again.
In need of refurbishment from a cosmetic perspective, as the carpet in my hotel room was worn and tired. No body wash and had to ring housekeeping for refill… perhaps this should be checked regularly with cleaning. Cannot fault the care demonstrated towards guests and breakfast quality. A grand old lady of Zagreb that will always draw me to her. Fantastic location. Highly recommended.
Hotel Madison in Zagreb is a great place! The hotel is very clean, and the staff is very kind, thank you Igor, very welcoming, and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Zagreb.
I highly recommend
The room was not bad, although a little small, but all aspects of health were very good. The bedding is not easy to be allergic.
The hotel sells a bit expensive drinks, but the convenience store at the gas station at the door can solve this problem.
Friends with pets have to add 15 euros. Although the bed in the room is specially designed to be unable to get into the bottom of the bed, the bedside may get in and find the cat for two hours.
It's a bit far from the center but the hotel is in good condition
You need to adjust your check-in time by phone or email in advance (*******************************************
I recommend a steamed beer restaurant nearby ~
First things I like to express my appreciation to Toni at front desk who's very friendly welcoming my first day check in and helping me when I have problem with rental car. He really put his effort making so many calls when the rental car didn't response well, but finally all problem solved. And he sent his regard throe his friend at front desk on my second check in after 7 days traveling to Split and Dubrovnik, his name also Tony and he also very friendly.
Thanks to both of you Toni & Tony ( I hope I didn't wrong spelling your name )
It's highly recommend for all type of traveler, the room is very quite, I can't hear anything from next room or outside, sleep like a baby. I love the spacious shower room and all luxury amenities. If not mistaken I think this is a brand new hotel.
Since i drive a car, for me location is not important, 8 minutes drive to the old town, not too far. I like the neighborhood is so quite.
Breakfast has many menus and tasty too.
Overall is perfect , one thing I don't like is the dimming lights.
If they have a brighter light, I will be so happy.
