The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite Shazhou Night Market. The room decor is also very nice. I forgot to take pictures of breakfast, but they had a great selection of cold dishes, hot dishes, fruits, and drinks. There's parking available right in front of the hotel and also an underground garage. In the evening, after visiting Crescent Spring, we took the free shuttle bus that drops you near the hotel, and it was only a 7-8 minute walk back to rest. So convenient! Plus, the room even has a bathtub, perfect for the kids to soak in after a tiring day. From its location to its service, this hotel is simply perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dunhuang!!

If life is a never-ending journey, then the camping trip at the Desert Star Hotel is undoubtedly a highlight of my journey. When I arrived at the campsite, the first thing that attracted me was the unique tent house. Unlike regular tents, the top of the tent is made of special transparent materials, like a huge viewing platform, which builds a bridge of communication between me and the vast galaxy. As night fell, I couldn't wait to lie on the soft bed, and when I looked up, the bright starry sky was presented to me without reservation. The stars twinkled, like gems inlaid on the black sky, beautiful as a dream. At that moment, the world seemed to press the mute button, and the impetuousness and noise in my heart were instantly soothed. The unique beauty of this quietness made me intoxicated. It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff is very considerate. After placing the order, the customer service guy at the front desk added our contact information and gave us some local travel tips, which saved us a lot of time. From the warm reception at check-in, to the careful guidance during the activities, to the warm greetings at night, every detail made people feel cared for. They not only provided me with thoughtful service, but also made me feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the desert people. This desert camping trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the desert, but also experienced exciting and interesting activities, which became an eternal and beautiful memory in my heart.

I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home. The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you. The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning. The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes. Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels. My classmate and I stayed at this newly opened B&B while he was in Dunhuang for a marathon, and it was such a pleasant surprise! **Facilities:** Everything is brand new, the room amenities are complete, and the hardware quality is excellent – it was a real pleasure to use. **Cleanliness:** The room was meticulously cleaned, the entire place was spotless and odor-free, making for a very comfortable stay. The bathroom, in particular, felt incredibly welcoming upon entering. My first impression was how exceptionally clean it was. As someone who's a bit of a clean freak, I absolutely loved this. **Ambiance:** The B&B is absolutely beautiful, exactly the kind of vibe I like – a desert Silk Road style. The environment is quiet and serene, with no noise, making for a truly relaxing stay. **Service:** The service was thoughtful and attentive. They even prepared臊子面 (Sauteed Noodles with Minced Pork) for breakfast, homemade by the proprietress. It tasted just like home cooking; I haven't had anything this delicious in ages! The owner was incredibly warm and enthusiastic, responding to any requests immediately. The service was exceptional. What made me happiest was that the owner upgraded our room and even gave us some local fruit for free! Highly recommend! Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up!

Extraordinary host. Picked us up at the trainstation, drove us to the Nightmarket and back and organized us breakfast. Very recommendable! The location is somewhat out of the city center, but with the helpful host not a problem.

Stepping into Nashali is like entering an immersive Silk Road aesthetic museum. The entire courtyard boasts antique and elegant architecture, with every step revealing a new scene, and every window framing a picturesque view. It naturally exudes a profound Western cultural essence, so you don't need to hunt for the perfect photo spot; every corner offers a sophisticated ambiance that's both tranquil and photogenic. The biggest surprise was the incredibly spacious private orchard in the courtyard! Lush fruit trees laden with heavy, fresh fruits abound: sweet and crisp pears, intensely fragrant apples, soft and juicy 'May Red' plums, and the authentic Li Guang apricots, a specialty of Dunhuang. With fruit scents changing through the seasons, staying here allows you to personally pick fresh fruits nurtured by the desert, tasting the sunshine of the Northwest with every bite. The breakfast menu was different for all three days – Jiangxi rice noodles, clay pot soup, handmade wontons – each dish thoughtfully prepared. The guest rooms are decorated like exquisite art galleries, impeccably clean and fresh throughout, with smooth and soft bedding. The hygiene is faultless, making for an exceptionally peaceful and reassuring stay.

Staying at Yunbo International Hotel in Dunhuang was a fantastic experience – a 5-star recommendation! The location is superb, within walking distance of Shazhou Night Market, making it incredibly convenient for eating, drinking, and sightseeing. It's also very close to Mingsha Mountain. The rooms were clean, spacious, and had fresh air. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was smart, with plenty of hot water, and the facilities were new and in great working order. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, providing quick check-in and meticulous service, even proactively helping with luggage – the attention to detail was incredibly heartwarming. The hotel also features a rooftop garden and a self-service laundry room, making it extremely convenient for getting around. Excellent value for money – the top choice for any trip to Dunhuang, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

Zhagana, which went to the off-season of the May 1st holiday, chose this Mid-Levels B&B based on the recommendation of XHS. The overall experience can be said to exceed expectations. Location: Located halfway up the mountain between the two core attractions of Fairy Beach and the first line of Tiantian, you can drive directly from the visitor center. The visitor center itself is not allowed to go to the mountain by private car. There are guests staying in the hotel or dining guests who can drive up. After the owner of the hotel confirmed that the staff guarding the entrance will be released. From the homestay, the physically fit students arrive at the first line of Tianhe and Fairy Beach for about 30 minutes, and there is no need to consider the horse riding plan. Facilities: There is a parking lot, and there is no parking problem in the off-season. The room is equipped with water heaters, air conditioners, wifi, hair dryers, electric blankets, etc. It has been cold these two days. The boss also added an electric heating to us. In the case of a large temperature difference between morning and evening, there is no need to worry about the low temperature. Environment: I have a small courtyard and rooftop, facing several core villages such as Dongwa Village. The scenery is first-class. You can shoot the starry sky on the rooftop at night. The sanitary level of the room is OK and the quality of the bed is good. Service: The boss and his family are very enthusiastic and are a big plus. Not only provide planning suggestions and help on the itinerary. The self-operated restaurant tastes authentic Sichuan cuisine, and has a lunch and dinner in the store. Compared with some so-called local dishes or net red restaurants eaten in the village, it can be said to be very cost-effective. Breakfast is porridge or Sichuan rice noodles, with eggs, steamed buns and pickles, can be full and warm.

When booking the hotel, I specifically checked other guests' reviews. It still exceeded my expectations. The guesthouse isn't located on the main street, but in an alley, near the Wuzelinka ******* Restaurant. We arrived at the guesthouse on the evening of the 2nd, and it was snowing that night. The owners and their family came out to pick us up—they were incredibly friendly! The two-story rooms were both very clean. Our electric blanket broke, and they bought us a new one the next day. They also always let us know before we went out or when we returned. Breakfast was home-style, with millet porridge, white eggs, etc. On my second day, I caught a cold and experienced some altitude sickness, and the guesthouse owner gave us medicine! In short, I recommend this guesthouse to everyone visiting Xiahe! The only downside was that our trip was a bit rushed, so I didn't take many photos of the guesthouse.

Our stay at Colorful Danxia Flower House Hotel was truly exceptional—easily a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even personally helping us carry our luggage upstairs. His hospitality didn’t stop there—he kindly assisted us in booking tickets for a local show and even drove us there himself, which made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable. The room was spotless, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain high standards. We also really appreciated the free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful during our travels. The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless. To top it all off, the owner even prepared thoughtful departing gifts for us, which was such a warm and memorable touch. His kindness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. If you’re visiting the area, this hotel is an outstanding choice.
