"We loved our stay at Spark by Hilton in Freeport, ME. Everything was immaculate and new. Beds were comfortable and spotless. Bathrooms well cleaned and the location was superb (not too close and not too far from downtown). No complain there.
Conversely, the breakfast was plain (yogurt, cold hard boiled eggs, monotonous bagels) and not a continental buffet (sausage, eggs, waffles, etc.). This description needs to be fixed on all third party sites including Trip.com."

"Although the location is not in the city, it does not matter as a self-driving tourist. The most commendable thing about this hotel is that it is cheap! The breakfast at this price is quite rich. "The hotel room is large, the sanitary conditions are OK, the bathroom has a bath heater to keep warm, the facilities are not very complete, the room does not have a coffee machine, if you want to drink coffee or warm water to the outside service desk. This hotel seems to be opened by Indians, there is no breakfast (but there is breakfast on Ctrip), because the hotel at this price after the epidemic basically does not include breakfast."

"Embassy Suites by Hilton adjacent to the Portland Maine Jetport provide comfort and convenience. Suite rooms (with two Queen beds) are comfortable but the a/c is quirky and can be hard to set and is noisy. (we turned the bedroom a/c on before going to sleep just leave the a/c in the living room on to cool down, and problem solved.
The breakfast bar was the bomb! I loved the omelet Joe made was excellent, fast, efficient, and delicious."

"The rooms are modernly furnished. The location is cheap, since a large shop is located in a foot distance, where you can also eat cheap at night.
The breakfast is typical of American: plastic boxes and boxes, waffles, toast, yoghurt, packed sweet cakes, flakes and bananas and mandarins. On drinks there were tea and various coffee varieties as well as juices from a machine.
The staff was very friendly."

GGuest UserWe just came back from our 4 nights stay. The Inn looked clean and offered a good breakfast, although in a different building. That is pretty much it.
Our stay was not the most pleasant though. We booked a room for 3 people (we were traveling with our teenage kid) and at the time of booking I specified that I needed a room large enough for three people and an additional bed for our son. I called the Inn twice in the week prior to our arrival to make sure we had the room we needed and to let them know that we were arriving late in the evening. We arrived on Thursday night at 9 pm to find out that the room we were given was incredibly small and there was no place for an additional bed. The receptionist, a foreign student, called the manager who told her to add a cot to the already small room. We asked for another room and we were offered a room on the third story that was identical to the one we were given but with an awful smell and we declined it. The receptionist told us to either take the room we were assigned or leave. Little caveat, we had already prepaid a non refundable rate and at this time of the year there are no rooms available on Old Orchard Beach without a reservation. The receptionist did not seem to understand the conundrum of the prepaid non refundable stay and did not want to call the manager a second time to try to help us out. We did not want to lose the money we had already disbursed for our vacation so we had no choice but to take the room we were given, move the furniture around to fit a cot bed between our bed and a bureau (which then we could not use because his bed was right against the drawers). Every night we had to move all the luggage against the door to have enough space for the three of us to get to the tiniest bathroom you can think of (a closet repurposed as a bathroom). I do not understand why they accepted the reservation and ended up messing up with our vacation. They could have rejected the reservation saying that they did not have a room for us and I would have booked a room somewhere else. This small room could have worked for a couple but did not work for a family. The room service is offered every other day which meant leaving wet towels from 3 people's showers on the bathroom for an entire day. On one day, I asked for a garbage bag and put the wet towels outside the floor for someone to pick up. Same for the garbage. They sat there in the hallway until the next day. How do they expect people to shower every day, without a change of towels, especially after spending a day at the beach? There are a lot of things that could have been done better. We have been at OOB several times and other motels offer a much better service. I think there is a lot of potential but they need better management.
Will not stay there again.

Door between adjoining room would not lock took three people to lock it
Direct Tv only worked sometimes kept rebooting then finally no signal had to get another remote from front desk still did not work gave up
No tongs for buffet when told front desk they argued there was we showed him that there where not any for the two food warmers and he goes over to the bread and says yes here is one When we tell him that is unsanitary he finally admits they broke a day or so again and they have not replaced them
The public restroom on the first floor at 6 30 am the men's room had no toilet paper or towels and ladies room was locked with no one using it feels like they where just waiting for housekeeping to do it but remember continental breakfast was being served
The front desk personal where dismissive and to check out sign said to jut put key cards on counter there where already half dozen pretty lazy and unprofessional when asked for receipt told they cant print one because booked thru third party out but did not offer the other ways that he could give me a receipt, reprinting check-in and marking paid or giving me itemized bill for room for the stay the front desk clerk was either unknowledgeable or lazy

__fengsuixindong_I booked a twin room and got a twin suite, which was very large. Across the road was the Holiday Inn (expensive), where there was a lawn where you could watch the sunrise. Just a few minutes drive to Acadia National Park, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and delicious food.

EEmily Rose LThis hotel was overbooked so they moved us to the Marriott Residence instead, so this review is for this property.
The bedding and bed were very comfortable- high off the floor for kids but perfect for tall people like me. I liked the white linens and the pillow top mattress.
The shower was great and the toiletries were adequate. There were tons of towels and washcloths. I did not use the kitchenette but it seemed well appointed for quick needs- a full sized refrigerator, coffee maker with coffee and tea choices, dish towel, etc.
The sitting area and desk were nice touches- the furniture was a bit dated looking but clean and unmarked by stains or heavy wear.
The hotel was very quiet but included fifth floor parking in the nearby garage and proximity to lots of bars, restaurants, and shopping. Great location!

If I could suggest anything, it would be that they would explain when asked about being pet friendly that they don’t allow pets to stay in the room while you’re not there and charge a $250 fine if you leave the room. We were confused because in other hotels that we stayed, we were allowed to leave the dogs. This makes it rather difficult when you arrive at the location and you’re an hour and a half away from your house that you have to now find a dog sitter or a dog daycare while you go out of your hotel room to me it defeats the purpose because I know I would’ve left them with the dog sitter at home either that or they clarify their stance on such issues like “do you have a dog here well as long as he stays quiet, it’s OK“ something to that effect.

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn Ellsworth/Bar Harbor! The hotel was spotless, our room was comfortable and quiet, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The complimentary breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices to start the day, and the location was perfect for exploring Ellsworth, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor. It was nice to come back each evening to a clean, relaxing room after a day of sightseeing.
We especially appreciated the friendly service and how well the property was maintained. If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient place to stay while visiting the Downeast Maine area, we highly recommend the Hampton Inn Ellsworth/Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again!

My daughter love the pool. But that's always the selling point for the kids. And I like to check out is at noon later than the other hotels in the area.
