"The hotel is brand new, so the interiors were impeccably clean. I was really impressed with the facilities; you wouldn't expect such a well-equipped place from the modest entrance on the first floor. They had everything you could need, like a self-service convenience store, water dispensers, and a gym. I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Matsue, and I'd recommend it to my friends too."

"Old and famous ryokan in town, with old and very nice Japanese garden with its own history. This hotel provide a very large outdoor public hot bath pond which both men and women could use together. Nearby the hotel is a drainage canal with cherry blossom trees along both sides made a wonderful view."

"Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu was our 5th hotel in this journey, and honestly, it set the bar pretty high. The location was hard to beat — right opposite Matsue Station, and it could be easily reached through an underpass, which was especially helpful when travelling with big luggage or during bad weather. One big surprise for us was the check-in experience. We arrived at the hotel at around 11.30am, fully expecting to leave our luggage and return later, but we were told that our room was already ready and we could occupy it immediately instead of waiting until the usual 3pm check-in time. It also seemed that they upgraded our booking to a Standard Double Room, which made the experience even better. Two thumbs up for this hotel. Even though we had booked a Standard Single Room, the space genuinely surprised us. The room came with a queen bed and was more than comfortable for two of us. We were able to fully open our large suitcases without feeling cramped — something that is not always guaranteed in Japanese hotels. The room layout was practical and well thought out, with a proper TV console and work desk with a chair, a single sofa with a small table, an air purifier, and a fridge. The TV model was a bit outdated, though it did not affect our stay. The bathroom was also spacious, with a proper bathtub that allowed us to stretch our legs comfortably after long days out. The bed was very comfy, and they provided two pillows for each of us, which made our sleep even better. Amenities and bottled water were provided at the lobby area, which we found convenient. We paid around SGD159 (JPY19,000) for two nights, and it was excellent value. Overall, it was one of the best hotels in this journey, and we would gladly stay here again."

"very nice! There is a Family Mart nearby and it is a short walk to Izumo Taisha Shrine and the Izumo Historical Museum! The receptionist was very nice. Dinner and breakfast were all buffets. They were delicious. The hot springs were very comfortable. However, there were too many people and I didn’t have the chance to soak in a private hot spring. There were also free ramen and kimono rentals. It was a good choice to go to Izumo Taisha Shrine~ It’s close to the Izumo tram station. It’s a little far away from the main shrine but the road is quite easy to walk!"

"I was driving myself, so I'm not sure about other public transportation options. The service at check-in was excellent. Being from Hong Kong, I specifically requested a ********* staff member to serve me during meals. They were incredibly attentive, explaining each dish meticulously. On another day at breakfast, this same ********* staff member also arranged for friends and family staying in different rooms to sit together. As for the hot springs, there were different areas and types to choose from. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely come again."

"The room was large with 13 tatami mats, and the large window overlooked Lake Jinsai and the cherry blossoms on the lakeside, and the bird watching with the binoculars borrowed at the front desk was enjoyed. It was a pity that the bath could not be used at 0 〜 6 o'clock, but during that period I was able to relax with a free massage chair, so I was able to eliminate fatigue and stress. The food is very satisfying with the taste and the number of items, and the children are especially delighted with the desserts that can be selected. Even for breakfast, I replaced all the miso soup of shrimp. However, there are few trains that stop at the nearest station (Konan Station on the Sanin Line), and you may lose time that you don't think you will have to calculate access to that point. There is no taxi at Gangnam Station (unmanned station), but the inn came to pick me up and was very helpful."

"Suitenkaku was our first stay in a Ryokan. Those who want to visit Tottori, Izumo and Sakaiminato will find Matsue well located, while the Ryokan is next door to the Ichibata railway deserving the Izumo Taisha. The room was renovated and very spacious, offering a direct view to the lake. Above all, the staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. Real Omotenashi ! We are fully satisfied with our stay. Will repeat for our next stay in the area."

"When you leave the station, don't rely on Google Maps for directions as it might send you on a long detour. Instead, just turn left and the bus stop is right there. The hotel rooms are quite spacious, and they even offer hot spring services, which is a fantastic perk! The front desk staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful."

"The hotel environment is clean, the corridors on each floor are bright and spacious, the public space has a 24-hour beverage area to pick up, the breakfast is delicious, although the room is not cleaned every day, but the towels will be changed and the garbage will be cleaned, and the environment will be maintained very clean."

"Expansive hotel. Breakfast is nice but crowded.  Nice ice cream sticks and drinks. Hot Spring is great and clean."
