"Hotel front desk staffs were all super friendly, able to communicate well in English, helpful and professional. We came to the front desk at 1pm (outside check in time) but the staff kindly let us check in early without even being asked. Our room was clean, has good layout, even though it feels a bit tight if you have multiple big luggages but that's typical for all business hotels in Japan. The hotel is close to Sendai station (5 mins walk) where you have endless food choices. There is a 7-11 right at the ground floor of hotel. Yodobashi shopping centre is just across the hotel where you can find large supermarket Lopia, Daiso, Uniqlo, GU, Matsukiyoshi, sport stores and everything else you need. I would happily stay in this hotel again if I got a chance to visit Sendai again."

"It's close to the highway and next to the hotel is Aeon Town, so it's convenient for shopping. The price is reasonable, so it's a good deal. Breakfast was included, and it was quite delicious. I wish the toilet in the room had a washlet."

"This hotel is supposedly the best in Sendai, so when I visited, I booked two nights to experience it. It's a bit far from Sendai Station, which isn't ideal if you're lugging luggage. We ended up taking a taxi from the station. Since we arrived before check-in, we were able to store our bags on the first floor. Later, after we checked in, a staff member brought them directly to our room. My room type offered a nice view, with a distant glimpse of the Great Kannon statue. The room itself was spacious, but it definitely felt old; many facilities are in need of repair and updating."

Guest UserA very nice and convenient hotel. About 8 min walk from sendai main station. The hotel entrance along the road can bit a bit of challenge to find but just keep a eye on it. The room is large and spacious by japanese standard. I did not try the breakfast but they provide free starbuck coffee at lounge from 1400 to 2200hrs. Would be good if they can change that hrs to morning onwards. They provide two type of pillows, one hard and one soft..which is good.

ShejianshangdejiasitingFacilities: From the hotel lobby to the rooms, everything felt comfortable, elegant, and grand.
Environment: It's a convenient 5-10 minute walk from Sendai Station, and there's a 7-Eleven right on the first floor. Plus, the famous Gyutan (beef tongue) restaurant, Zenjirou, is right next door. Sendai Morning Market is also just around the corner.
Service: The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast service was top-notch.

Reception at 5 pm was efficient and I didn’t have to wait. Street level provides access to two lifts that take you to the second floor reception area.
Wifi worked well and the air conditioning was good especially in the cold weather. Rooms are not huge but adequate size. I booked a larger room of which there are a few.
House keeping was also good, though guests need to request daily services by placing a card on the room door otherwise daily service is not provided. The two lifts can be slow especially during busy times such as morning checking out.
The location is good being about 15 minutes walk from the main Shinkansen station. Being in a built up area there aren’t any views of parks etc. The hotel is five minutes walk to the covered main shopping mall-street which are common in Japan. There are major shopping malls in the central train station area.
There are also many nearby restaurants that should suit most people’s budget and type of food. Beef tongue is a specialty in Sendai and many restaurants offer it at various prices.
Buses and subway stations are nearby and provide access to various parts of the city. There are several attractions within 30 minutes of the hotel such as temples and museums.
Overall a pleasant stay and happy to visit again.

The room was not bad, the service was very good, the standard Japanese-style economy hotel, Japanese-style service, would not disappoint. Surrounded by residential areas, it is quiet. Although it is a little far from Sendai Railway Station, I have walked past it. It is fine to go.

Guest UserI absolutely loved this chain hotel. It's conveniently located very close to the station, though I'd recommend using navigation for the most straightforward route. Upon exiting the station, the easiest way is to head up to the second floor, walk a short distance, cross the street, and then take the stairs down. The room was a good size, and the layout was very practical.

tinazhao888The hotel's location is excellent. The reception is on the 4th floor of the building, which also houses the Shinkansen and JR stations. Inside the building, you'll find plenty of dining options, a supermarket, and shops. The surrounding area is bustling with even more shopping malls. It's incredibly convenient on a rainy day, as you can spend half the day exploring without even stepping outside. It's also super easy for train travel; just go downstairs, and you're there, saving time on commuting and waiting. The breakfast is also quite diverse.

HuisikaodemaoI booked a non-smoking single room, and smoking was allowed in the downstairs parking lot. The environment was great for a solo stay. For breakfast, you might have to queue depending on the number of diners and the time, but the mapo tofu is truly excellent and a must-have in the morning. It's very close to Sendai Station, with plenty of dining options nearby and many convenience stores.

MSMDGreat stay. Everything was great, self-check-in machine was very convenient and easy to use.
I had actually left my luggage at the hotel before checking in. When I came back, my luggage was already waiting for me in my room. I was honestly so surprised by this service.
The room was very clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed. The room was compact, but the space was used very efficiently. There were two bottles of water provided, and there was storage space under the bed.
The location isn’t very close to a JR station, but it’s surrounded by restaurants, and shopping street. I really loved this hotel and would definitely stay at a Mitsui hotel again!

Pang Cheng HianWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Monterey Sendai. The location is excellent, just a short 3-minute walk from JR Sendai Station, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and exploring the city.
The hotel has a unique European-inspired charm, with elegant décor, antique-style furnishings, and beautiful wooden floors that create a warm and sophisticated atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with a flat-screen TV offering a good selection of satellite channels.
One of the highlights of our stay was the natural hot spring spa, which was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Sendai. The hotel also offers several dining options, providing a good variety of choices without having to leave the property.
Overall, Hotel Monterey Sendai combines an excellent location, distinctive character, comfortable accommodations, and relaxing hot spring facilities. We would happily stay here again on our next visit to Sendai.
