ART HOTEL Kagoshima is the perfect place to relax after a busy day of travel or work. Unwind and refresh in the property’s hot spring facilities, or treat yourself to a relaxing spa experience during your stay. Enjoy delicious Japanese-style cuisine at any of the hotel’s three on-site restaurants. Vending machines are also available for guests’ convenience. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk with service available in three languages, including Japanese. For added convenience, the property also offers complimentary luggage storage, dry cleaning, and laundry services. Guests arriving by car may use the on-site parking facilities.

"I originally wanted to book the highly recommended Shiroyama Hotel, mainly to see the active volcano scenery in Kagoshima! But I booked too late. I saw that this art hotel was also said to offer good value for money. The only downside is that it's a bit far from Kagoshima-Chuo, so you'll need to take a taxi, otherwise, the bus ride takes over half an hour. The room with a view is indeed outstanding. However, the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. Plus, there's no hot spring, and the only swimming pool is closed in winter. There's also an outdoor spa that requires advance booking and a swimsuit, which I unfortunately didn't bring, so I had to give it a miss. The front desk staff spoke good English. The only issue was that on weekends, breakfast was super crowded, and we had to queue for half an hour 😮💨. However, the breakfast spread was quite rich. Overall, it's not bad, especially suitable for those traveling by car."

"As for cleanliness, the hotel is still new, so the room was very clean. One thing that bothered me was, was it a mistake by the cleaning staff? There were tea bags on the shelf in the room, but there was one tea bag on the shelf above it, which was neatly propped up. Are there two per room...? The location is a bit of a walk from Yanigawa (about an 8-minute walk), but it might be good for multiple people! The location is not complicated, so you can find it easily. However, since it is outside the downtown area, there is nothing around...just another hotel or a ******** parlor! It is a bit dark, so it might be a bit scary for a woman to walk there alone. There is no convenience store nearby, so be careful! The necessary facilities and amenities are available. There were separate pajamas for top and bottom. The bath was a type without a bathtub. In terms of service, I had booked a single non-smoking room, but they upgraded me to a double room because there was a vacancy ^ ^"

Located in the centre of Kagoshima, a 1-minute walk from Takamibaba Station on the Kagoshima City Tram and a 6-minute walk from the Temmonkan bus stop on the Kagoshima Airport Limousine Bus. It is also conveniently located within walking distance of the popular downtown area of Temmonkan. The hotel has a restaurant on the top floor with a view of Sakurajima, a bar with an adult atmosphere, a large bath with an artificial carbonated spring and a fitness room. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The entire building is non-smoking, and if smoking is required, there is a smoking area on the second floor. The hotel also offers a variety of room types to suit all purposes, from functional double rooms to junior suites for special occasions. A welcome drink for guests is available at the reception on the second floor (coffee machine, water server, four types of black tea, green tea and hojicha) and there is a convenience store nearby for a comfortable hotel experience.

"This hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan area, with the tram stop directly in front. It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel."

GGuest UserThe hotel was very clean and the hospitality was excellent. It was a shame that it rained heavily on our first day, but perhaps because of that, we were able to check in earlier than expected, which allowed us to relax comfortably. The complimentary ice cream and ramen were a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very attentive and polite, making for a truly enjoyable holiday. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!

SSeng Hock ChangRichmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

GGuest UserGood points: - Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop. - A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room. - There's a large public bath and a sauna. - Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away. - The hotel staff are friendly. Not-so-good points: - The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep. - The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old. While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

IIkegami KI really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

MMyra Regner⭐⭐⭐½ — Pricia Resort Yoron, Japan My stay at Pricia Resort on Yoron Island was a mixed but overall pleasant experience. The location is undeniably stunning — crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and the kind of tropical scenery that makes you feel completely removed from the everyday hustle. The standout of the entire trip was without a doubt the staff - Tana, Takumi, Hoshi. From check-in to check-out, every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my stay special. They went above and beyond with local recommendations and were always on hand with a smile. Breakfast is great with lots of choices on buffet. There is also all day lounge to get free drinks and nuts. The resort itself has real charm and a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s clear that the facilities are showing their age. Several areas would benefit significantly from renovation — from the rooms to the common areas, a refresh would bring the physical experience in line with the exceptional service and natural beauty surrounding it. That said, if you’re looking for a peaceful island escape with a welcoming team and breathtaking scenery, Pricia Resort still delivers. With some investment in the property, this could easily be one of the best resort experiences in southern Japan. Recommended for: nature lovers, snorkeling enthusiasts, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Japanese island escape. A must visit - Yurigahama Beach! Uninhabited place and this is the iconic beach of Yoron.

GGuest UserThe scenery was amazing, and we were even able to go down to the beach. The sand was sparkling and soft, and we could even dip our feet in the sea and play. The view from the open-air bath was also fantastic, the gentle breeze felt wonderful, and we were able to see the first star of the night.

GGuest UserI was very satisfied with this hotel. Right outside the hotel entrance, there's a large A-Coop supermarket that offers discounts in the evening. Across the street, you'll find Sukiya, FamilyMart, and a drugstore. The hotel also has a restaurant bar on the first floor. From my room, I had a fantastic, wide-open view of Sakurajima volcano! What's particularly great is the shuttle bus service that runs every half hour between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the hotel – super convenient! A little tip: the shuttle pick-up point at Kagoshima-Chuo Station can be tricky to find. It's best to exit from the East Exit, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road, then enter through the ground floor entrance and walk through the lobby – you'll see the stop there. The hotel breakfast was also very good, though you might have to queue a bit during peak hours. The hotel staff also helped me call a taxi, and it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Tenmonkan area.

XXingzheyouwujiangThe hotel's location is excellent; you can reach it via an underground passage directly from Kagoshima-Chuo Station. It might be a bit tricky to find the first time, but you can also use the pedestrian bridge above ground. The hotel breakfast features many local specialties, highly recommended! There are convenience stores, Don Quijote, and various restaurants nearby, which is super convenient. I was also happy to see Sakurajima from my room! The only downside was that the room was quite dusty. I'm not sure if it was due to inadequate cleaning or if it's a common issue in Kagoshima itself. Also, there wasn't much in terms of service; both check-in and check-out were self-service.
