"This hotel easily meets a four-star standard. The facilities are great, and the rooms are very new. They offer free parking and the location is convenient. "Great location right in the center of Reykjavik. Clean bedding and a private room all to myself. A bonus was the coffee and tea available downstairs, and there's also a microwave. The building is quite old, but if you need a decent place to sleep at a reasonable price and don't like dorm rooms, I recommend it. On the downside, the coffee and tea room was closed on Sunday morning. We also had a fire alarm go off at 2 AM, but it turned out to be nothing."

"The breakfast was really delicious, the service from every employee in the hotel was wonderful. The beds were not that great, and the rooms were too warm. I also wish they had better room darkening window coverings as it was very bright in the room. I was also a bit disappointed in the art, they advertise as an art hotel but there were multiple copies of the same picture in the hallways and there wasn't as much art as I expected. The huge bathtub was nice, but the small bathroom was hard to manage."

"We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during our trip to Iceland. The room had a small kitchenette, which was perfect for making a few simple meals. The facilities in the room were complete, and the mattress was very comfortable. The best part is its quiet yet central location – it's within walking distance of the cathedral, Bonus supermarket, and the 'smiley face' supermarket, which was incredibly convenient. The only downside was that the bathroom tended to overflow a bit when using the handheld shower. Overall, we were very satisfied."

"Admittedly I only spent a few hours in a single room in this guesthouse. It is one of the closest and best priced options next to the Bus Station (BSI) where the Keflavik Airport Flybus stops (10 mins walk away on flat terrain). It was not easy to get there but Google Maps guided me well. I slept here before taking a domestic flight from Reykjavik Domestic to Akureyri in the morning (30 mins walk away on flat terrain). The room is very spartan - bed, desk and chair plus lampshade, clothes rack and small water sink. Toilet and shower rooms (separate) were right opposite my room. Self-checkin since I was quite late. Bed was very comfortable. Room very warm. Good curtains to keep out the midnight sun.."

Guest UserHonestly, this hotel was a bit of a letdown. The first room was incredibly small – so small you couldn't even open a 20-inch suitcase anywhere but by the door. There was no desk, and the bedside table was comically large, also doubling as a clothes hanger. There was a friendly Chinese lady at the front desk, which was a plus. However, in that particular room (I forget the number), there was an inner window that not only wouldn't open but faced directly onto the hallway, so you could hear every little noise. Not ideal if you're sensitive to sound. Also, they provide no toiletries whatsoever; you have to bring everything yourself.
On the upside, the location is convenient. Turn left out of the hotel for a supermarket, and turn right for the sea. It's also an easy walk to the Rainbow Street in the city center. Secondly, there's the price. In Iceland, where hotels typically start at 1,000 ISK, finding a place for around 900 ISK with a private bathroom is rare. It's suitable for budget travelers or those on daily tours who don't spend much time in their room. One more thing: luggage storage costs money, around 5 euros, and requires a QR code payment. I tried to pay with cash, and the front desk guy seemed quite flustered, like he wasn't used to it.

Chew LemonThis was the first hotel of our 8-day Iceland trip. It was a nice hotel, clean, and conveniently located for shopping and dining.
The breakfast was delicious, especially the pastries and bread selection. The only thing I did not like was that the bathroom sink was a little too small. Other than that, everything was good.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

Hands down the best hostel in Iceland! The common areas are incredibly clean, and the private bathrooms with showers are a huge plus. It's super warm inside – almost too warm! The bedding is really soft, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking.

Service provided by Ginta was excellent! Initially we were assigned to a room on the 3rd floor, which would have been impossible for us as there was no elevator and we had two big luggages. Ginta was very helpful and accommodating to our request, she called her manager and helped us to change rooms to the first floor.
We also had to leave early by 7:30am the next day for a tour, but breakfast officially only starts at 7:30am. Ginta helped to arrange and ensure we had breakfast before we left.
Location is great, less than a 5 minute walk to bus stop #8 and Hallgrimskirkja church. It was also easy to walk to Rainbow street, Laugavegur and other attractions.

Guest UserThe room was in the basement, and while the window could open, it faced the parking lot and trash collection point on the first floor. The top right corner of the window had a clear view of the trash area, and my head was right next to that corner when in bed. I immediately requested a room change and had to pay €30 to upgrade to a room on the 3rd floor. The hotel staff claimed it was Trip.com's arrangement and told me to contact Trip.com directly to complain. Just thinking about that room makes me nauseous.

Guest UserExtremely satisfied with this hotel! First off, the staff were all very polite and friendly. Also, before checking into this hotel, we had just finished an 8-day, 7-night island tour. Since there were luggage size restrictions on the tour, it was a huge relief that this hotel allowed us to store some of our luggage while we were away.
Upon entering the room, the facilities were even better than expected. There was plenty of space to put our belongings and hang clothes. The lotion provided was also very useful, especially given how dry it can be in the room.
I will definitely book this hotel again if I come back to Iceland!

Shanghai based coupleA once-in-a-lifetime trip made more meaningful and charming by world-leading staff and service.
We messaged ahead and told them that we were on our honeymoon. Iceland is a unique place on Earth, but almost as surprising as the geology, geography and weather was just how remarkable and excellent this hotel was. Its location was outstanding right in the old city centre and an easy walk to boat trips (for organised bus trips, which all use the same bus stop numbering, the nearest bus stop is number 5, about 5 minutes’ walk away), the breakfast was splendid and the room was unbelievably cosy, which was particularly welcome after a winter’s day adventuring amongst the ice and snow and especially the epic and cold wind.
This once-in-a-lifetime trip was made extraordinarily special by the outstanding and attentive staff who really impressed with their thoughtfulness and commitment to excellence throughout. We cannot thank the whole team enough, both everyone we met as well as everyone who worked behind the scenes, for delivering a world-leading stay.
