"Firstly, the staff we encountered were lovely, very accommodating and helpful. The reception entrance was promising, being bright and modern with a very pleasant receptionist and smooth check in. However, our room lacked appeal, comfort or anything that made one wish to stay in it for longer than a night. To be fair, we were asked twice on check in, if we would like to move to a different floor. I jokingly asked if there was a problem with the room we'd been allocated but was told no. We were allocated Room 7. Whilst it appeared clean to the best the facilities allowed, it was unpleasant. The bottom of the bathroom door appeared water damaged and rotten. The sink was cracked. The radiator was rusted by urine splashes as situated beside the toilet and the shower was situated in a recess with no curtain or screen, so quickly spilled on to the floor making the bath mat soaked. The lock on the bathroom door didn't work. There was no hair dryer. Only one USB point within the very small TV which only charged if it was on. Being on the ground floor, our window opened out on to the narrow walk way and one poor man walked into it on his way to reception. SatNav instructions take you to a dead end further down the road and several attempts at finding our way around the God awful roundabout eventually led us to a very small parking area at the front of the hotel. Breakfast at 9.00 pm was initially disappointing. One plate was available, no bread for the toaster, no milk for the cereals. One sausage, no beans, no bacon. More food did eventually appear, as did plates, and it was very nice. The croissants and pastries were lovely too. The coffee machine was good. As mentioned, the staff were very good and we requested an iron which was bought to us quickly with a board by a lovely young man. The bed was awful. Rock hard and not much comfort from a meagre duvet that was so thin that initially we thought it had been forgotten. Anyway, one night, cheap and basic. Served its purpose but would look elsewhere and pay more. Think we were just unlucky."

"The hotel was simple and clean. The room had a double and two singles as booked. The water was hot and there was plenty of it. The road was a bit noisy outside our window but no plane noise to keep us awake. I was very disappointed that despite being an airport hotel there is no shuttle between the hotel and the departure terminal UNLESS you book car parking at car park 7 specifically. Therefore I had to book a taxi to take me to departures at £15 one way for a 2 mile trip at 5am. This left me a 10minute walk outside the terminal, though I could have paid drop off parking charges to get closer. Apparently this is a new issue between the airport and Travelodge. If I had known this at the time I would not have been so keen on the Travelodge price (which on its own was very reasonable) but needs to have a £20 supplement for travel to the airport added."

"The hotel was fine. More ‘interesting’ than anything because it is like entering a time warp to the 80’s with its decor. Almost museum like. However it was clean and the staff were friendly. Decent food in the restaurant too."

"Pool and changing rooms were a little bit ‘tired’ looking. Rusty lockers. Tiles in the pool slippery and a bit dirty. Staff at pool was lovely and friendly. Very helpful and welcoming.  Breakfast and bar food were delicious. Breakfast staff very helpful, polite and attentive. We loved the air conditioning in the room. Thank you for a lovely stay."

"Myself and my 12 year old daughter were given room 44 on Monday 30th March which we didn't realise was right above the Restaurant. Even after calling Reception to query the loud Ed Sheeran music that could be heard very loudly above the TV in our room, they turned it down a little but we heard the music all night until 11pm and then was woken again at 6:45am by the Breakfast piano music. The room appeared to have zero or minimal sound proofing resulting in a very poor nights sleep and a pointless stay. The facilities offered and breakfast options were also not very family friendly with only small cereal boxes aimed at children. Adding pancakes or waffles to the menu would be a good addition to compliment the range of breakfast toppings."

"The room is neat, spacious and facilities are good but I feel they could have put water or jug in the room for the guest but overall, I'm satisfied with their service. Hope to visit again soon."

"I always look forward to staying at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and always remember me. IThis has become my no.1 hotel to stay whenever I'm visiting Birmingham. Breakfast has an amazing array of things from muffins to hot English breakfast to salad selection, cold meats selection, cereals and selection of breads. Topped off with hot drinks or juices. This hotel is amazing."

"The price is not expensive, the hotel is self-driving, the location may not be convenient for ordinary tourists. More general hotel, the decoration is also old. Hotel environment is good, useless for passengers, suitable for slow travel, leisure."

"I enjoyed, the views of the city, and the ability to see my car in the car park below, the room was clean, the wifi was easy to connect to, and the bed although, firm, was comfortable. Breakfast was good with a varied choice, I did have to swap out my chair at the table however as the one I had felt much too low for eating.."
