GillyBA great hotel in a good location for visitors to Sheffield. The advantage of staying slightly out of the city centre for free parking and a peaceful location. The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet in lovely grounds. We had 4 rooms with our party which were booked at a reasonable price and 2 were upgraded on arrival which was a bonus. The staff were friendly and welcoming especially the lady on reception. Would happily stay here again

CostinaWE HAD A FRIDGE
The toilet sit had some soap smudge on it and initially thought is something else but if foamed when tried to clean it (I always have sanitizer with me as is only human to miss a spot and do a mistake. Didn't kill me cleaning that myself. Housekeeping job ain't easy. Bless you all. Just keep a better eye to avoid Karen type❤️) The receptionists were all friendly and happy to assist me with both check in and check out. We absolutely loved our room and the view was magnificent. The dawn was heavenly seen from our window❤️ What I loved the most was the fact that in the room we had a FRIDGE. Many hotels don't have that anymore and imagine having a room without a fridge with this heatwave going on 🥵 I will attach a photo with our beautiful view🤩 This hotel will be my top choice whenever I'll need a room around the area. Clean room, clean hallway, clean reception area. Please keep an eye for the accessible rooms. Read all description and detail before booking as they have special rooms for people with a health condition and the room will have some things at a low level to the ground. Will be your fault for not choosing the right room not the hotel's as you need to read description always. Don't take it out to the staff for your own mistake😊 Seen a lot complaining about that, as I've seen also about the rooms accessible and didn't understand the term initially, until I went through the details. After reading the details I knew exactly what room I need to book and what would not be convenient for me🙌 Bless you all and hope this review will be of help to some of you at least 😊

I was in Sheffield for 2 nights.
V comfy bed. Shower and separate bath.
Had an embarrassing issue with toilet as it's flush was almost non existent, but was resolved easy.
Location fantastic re town and train station, and exotic garden in a fantastic structure.
Pool, sauna and steam room great.
Didn't fancy the ice igloo!
Aroma room (a fragrant steam room). Was out of action.
Work being done taking up large part of reception, which was a shame, but really didn't affect my stay at all.
Didn't eat/drink in hotel so can't comment on those areas.

Dust monkeys 2026This is the 2ed time staying here for 2 nights the price is ok the room is clean you get free tea and coffee in your room the breakfast is good value for money I believe it’s 15 pounds per person there is lots of fresh fruit cereal, a cooked breakfast as much tea and coffee as you like we didn’t go into the park this time as I have been in the wildlife Park before with my daughter this time we were visiting family the wildlife Park is amazing the staff at the Hex Hotel are super friendly . And professional. The only thing I would say negative about the hotel is checking after 4 pm. And you have to be out of the room by 10 am. I think check-in should be from 2 pm then that gives you a little bit longer in the room and maybe check out 11 am but apart from that I can’t fault this place but if you want to do an earlier check-in, they charge you £30. And if you want to upgrade your room, they charge you £15 per night to upgrade. . The shower is absolutely amazing. You have a rain shower and a smaller shower. You get two massive bath towels, two hand towels also shower gel body cream soap. That are individually. I will definitely be coming back and staying again. A short taxi ride into Doncaster town Centre where there is lots of bars that play music if you’re into that there’s also a designer outlet not far from the hex hotel. .

Guest UserThe location is good, the room was pleasant and spacious. But the staff were a little slow, it took a long time to check in even though there were three staff on reception and one person before me, two were on the phone together. I understand busy times but they weren’t particularly in a hurry to help, explain or apologise. Also had a drink at the bar and again, the staff were a little slow to help. They were fine and adequate but not particularly friendly.
I have worked in customer facing roles and I’m not expecting the world but some hotels go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the staff here could definitely improve in this area. There was nothing wrong at this hotel and it was adequate for my needs but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again.

Guest UserI recently stayed at the Rutland Hotel in Sheffield and had a wonderful experience.
The hotel is in an excellent location near the hospital, local shops and eateries and near a bus route which takes you directly into the town centre / railway station etc.
The room was very spacious with lots of storage space, tea and coffee making facilities and the bathroom was modern and clean.
The king size bed was really comfortable but one small criticism would be the pillows which could do with upgrading.
That being said I have travelled extensively here and across the world and the one thing that always makes me want to revisit a hotel is the quality of service received.
The staff at the Rutland hotel are simply exceptional from Alison who lifted my spirits by sorting out my restaurant order so I could eat in my room as I was exhausted after spending hours at my mums hospital bedside to Zoe the lovely lady who went into service my room and found my purse and rushed down to reception to return it to me.
I will definitely return to this hotel and this is largely due to the lovely staff.

Forge Ahead Forge AheadThis hotel needs to be cheaper as asylum seekers live here, people on benefits live here, it's just accommodation so the costs needs to be reduced as there's no other anemities apart from a room to rest your head.

Guest UserThe hotel is closeish to the station and was close to where I was working for a few days. It's in the city center with a tram stop a very short walk away.
The reception looks bright, but they have an expensive coffee machine there, which I soon learnt meant I didn't have a kettle in my room.
Check in was quick, friendly and simple. I had booked for two, ended up on my own. I got to my room and immediately noticed it was tiny with no desk, just a small path around the bed and a small bathroom. For the price paid, I expected a normal hotel experience.
When I used the bathroom, I noticed a long hair in the sink, which washed away with the slightest trickle when I started washing my hands which told me it hadn't been cleaned. That made me then look at the floor and noticed that hadn't been swept, either.

SoulfulExplorerThis isn't my first stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, the customer service hasn't improved. Even ordering a simple drink from the bar was met with a frown. I stay here only because it's convenient for my business needs, but it's disappointing that the staff seems so disengaged, which leaves a negative impression. The breakfast was dry and unappetizing, almost like eating rocks. Given the standards of Ibis hotels, I'm quite shocked at the poor condition and service here.
