"The room was very spacious, with a large bed and a sofa bed separated by a wall, creating two distinct areas. It had large floor-to-ceiling windows, directly facing a beautiful church building across the road. The bathroom was also very roomy, with both a shower and a bathtub, each in its own independent space. The bathroom also had a heated towel rail, which was very convenient for drying clothes overnight. Breakfast was quite extensive, offering various breads, fried eggs, roasted tomatoes, green salads, and drinks like different coffees, juices, and hot milk. It was a full English breakfast, and staff would assign you a table. I even forgot to take photos!"

It's very close to the train station, making it convenient for getting around. The room was spacious and very comfortable to stay in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel's food tasted great."

By travelling out of the city a little, we're able to bring you all the mod cons with none of the excessive, costly extras that you don't need. But don't worry, you won't be out on a limb: there are ample and regular transport links directly into the city (Salford Quays metro stop is a mere four-minute walk from our door), so that you can enjoy the best of Manchester's vibrant city centre at prices that suit your pocket.

"A wonderful, pocket friendly hotel in Salford Quays. I was there for just one night and I was impressed by the cleanliness and room layout. An extremely practical room with everything you need in the right place. Beds were clean, TV was working and even a simple air blower in the room which helps keep the room cool as well as a window that opens. The location was easy to find with fast food, restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Don't let the exterior fool you as it is an old building and definitely needs a coat of paint. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a budget stay at Salford Quays."

The Reach is where the pulse of Manchester meets the calm of the canal.

"I booked two rooms and specifically requested high-floor rooms beforehand. During check-in, the first front desk agent had a noticeably lukewarm attitude. It took a long time for them to find my reservation, and it was quite a hassle to get one room sorted, and it was on a low floor. Then, the second front desk agent helped us check into the other room; their attitude was much better, and they gave us a high-floor room. We paid a £10 deposit upon check-in. The hotel's location and environment are good. There's a small river behind it, and it's a very short walk from Piccadilly Station, just around one corner. It's also within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping areas in the city center. We booked a suite, which was quite spacious. It came with toiletries, slippers, and a small balcony. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; you could order one hot dish, and then help yourself to bread, cereal, fruit, etc. Everything was fine, except for the first front desk agent."

"The hotel is very close to Piccadilly train station, but I wouldn't recommend using the overhead bridge – it actually makes it a longer walk. My room, at least, was spacious, and the bed even bigger. What I loved most was that the hangers could be taken down, and they even provided slippers! I stayed for two nights, and it was generally very quiet, much better than my experiences in Edinburgh and London. The mini-fridge had food and water, along with tea bags and a capsule coffee machine, all of which I confirmed were complimentary. However, because they took a £52 pre-authorization upon check-in, I didn't touch anything in the fridge to be on the safe side. The restaurant is on the right side of the lobby on the ground floor and is very standard for a Western-style restaurant. Below are some personal cons: 1. Manchester isn't as warm as London, and my room was shaded. Even on sunny days, it felt a bit cool inside, and the air conditioning's heating seemed pretty ineffective. 2. The bathroom floor was extremely slippery; you absolutely need to use the non-slip mat provided by the hotel. 3. The toilet flush button was very stiff; I couldn't press it with my left hand and had to use my right. Oh, and they gave me hot scones at check-in, as shown in picture 6."

"The air con is the only and main problem of the hotel, the lowest room temp is 26 average, the window can’t open and the central air con. auto off at midnight.  Our family keep waking up (over 10 times) at night bec of too hot.  Second night asked front desk a fan to improve a bit.  To the hotel, keep a comfortable room temp is the key to have a good rest, never turn off the air con for your client in a room without fresh air."

My rating: 7/10 Overall, I would rate this hotel 7 out of 10. There were many things I really liked, but there are also a few areas that could be improved. The first thing that impressed me was the lobby. It looks modern, stylish, and very welcoming. The seating area near the bar is beautiful, with comfortable sofas where you can relax or wait if you have a train to catch. The dining area is also lovely, with a modern and pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. It was served as a buffet with a great variety of food. There were crispy potatoes, scrambled eggs and fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, sausages, bacon, fresh vegetables, different juices, and a coffee machine with several coffee options. There were also cereals with yogurt, jams, chocolate pastries, Nutella, toast, sliced cheese, and a selection of cold meats. There was plenty of choice, and everything was very enjoyable. The lift was also very impressive. It looked elegant, modern, and gave the hotel a luxurious feel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The white bed linen looked fresh, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable, so we slept well. The bathroom was modern, spacious, and very practical. We also appreciated having tea, coffee, sugar, cream, and a kettle in the room. However, there were a few things that could be improved. We travelled as a family of three, and there wasn't enough storage space for our clothes. A proper wardrobe with shelves would make a big difference. Only I could unpack my things, while my children had to keep theirs in their backpacks. Another issue was that the window could not be opened. Without the air conditioning running, the room felt stuffy. The kettle also didn't switch off automatically after boiling, so it should definitely be checked or replaced. If I could suggest improvements, I would add a small coffee machine, such as a Dolce Gusto or similar, with enough coffee pods for the number of guests and the length of their stay. I think many people would really appreciate that. It would also be helpful to have a separate entrance or easier access for wheelchair users, as the revolving entrance door may not be convenient for everyone. In addition, a secure place to store bicycles would be a great feature for guests travelling by bike. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a beautiful design, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, and a lovely atmosphere. With a few improvements, it could easily become an even better place to stay.

Outstanding hospitality and superb facilities As someone who travels frequently for business, I am used to standard hotel procedures, but the team at The Manchester Deansgate Hotel completely blew me away for this leisure stay. They responded brilliantly to our pre-arrival requests, upgrading us to a beautiful King Skyline room and adding thoughtful touches like a welcome note from the manager and complimentary drinks. The hotel’s physical assets are in top shape, the 2nd-floor pool and sauna are peaceful and high-quality, and the breakfast service was seamless despite a busy weekend. Exceptional execution by the management and front-desk team.

The location of this property is excellent and was easily the highlight of our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues that affected our overall experience. The blackout blinds do not fully cover the windows, allowing daylight through the sides from very early in the morning, which made it difficult to sleep. We initially had to change rooms due to cleanliness concerns. In the first apartment, we found some soiled items in the bathroom bin and a heavily rusted tin opener. In the second apartment, there were unpleasant smells coming from the fridge and the cupboard under the sink, and while the tin opener was in better condition than the first, it also showed signs of rust. Some areas also appeared to have been missed during cleaning, including around the fridge hinge. The biggest disappointment was the comfort. The sofa beds were uncomfortable to sit on, with the cushions constantly sliding forward. The main bed was even more disappointing. It appeared to be two beds pushed together, was noisy whenever you moved, and provided one of the poorest nights’ sleep I’ve had in accommodation. By the end of our stay I was waking up with a sore, stiff back, which was particularly frustrating as this trip was supposed to be a break after several weeks of physically demanding decorating work at home. For a bed advertised as a large double, it also felt surprisingly short. We also experienced an issue with our room key after arranging a late checkout, which meant an unnecessary trip back to reception to have it reprogrammed. Noise from furniture being dragged around in the apartment above was noticeable during our stay as well. Overall, the apartment had the facilities we needed and the location is hard to fault, but the comfort, maintenance and attention to detail fell below expectations. While I appreciate the friendliness of the staff, I would think carefully before choosing to stay here again.

The room is quite spacious with no strange odors, and the bathroom is very clean. However, I wouldn't recommend booking a windowless room in the summer as it can get a bit stuffy, though they do provide a fan. The staff here are all very nice and polite, and the location is excellent with their own bar next door – perfect for watching the World Cup, which was a great bonus!

The room was clean and cosy and front-desk was friendly and responsive. We booked mainly to check out the pool, spa and gym as advertised by the hotel. So it was really disappointing when we found out that these facilities were closed on Xmas day and on other days operated at limited hours when we were there. The pool, sauna, steam room and gym are operated by a separate company from the hotel. That meant operating hours of those facilities are not catered for hotel guests at all. And it also meant sharing the facilities with members of the gym. So if you’re thinking of staying here and using the gym or pool, just bear those things in mind. Breakfast selection was quite limited. Very bare selection of any salads or greens. Quite embarrassing as well to see that clean plates were not available several times when there were less than 20 covers at breakfast. I understand it was the holiday season and the hotel is understaffed. But I’m sure this is not the first Christmas or NYE the hotel has encountered.

no parking at this establishment and no dropping off available at times as their maintenance and delivery vans might take up the small space cut into the front pavement. They do provide you with a discount voucher at nearby public carparks. Rooms are clean but the decorating is a patch up job throughout. The noise from the tram it is horrible and through the night as windows are not soundproof. In our room the heating was out of order and oil filled radiators were put up instead. Television sets have either the option for TV channels or to connect to your phone: bad aerial prevented viewing most channels and TV only connected to the staff's androids and not to our iphones. There was no options for apps such as youtube or netflix and kids have to entertain themselves on their tablet. Swimming pool is the size of a private one in a residential home. Staff is courteous and the breakfast is way and beyond satisfactory. The majestic hall from their photos was nowhere to be seen. Would go again if no other options shall be available at the time.
