"Super convenient location - only a ten minute drive from the airport and about fifteen minutes from the train station. It's also easy walking distance from the Ancient City, and all the major tourist locations are easily accessible by taxi or bus.
The room was well kept, and the staff were very helpful in helping me to plan my activities. They even went the extra mile and helped me to get back some jewellery I left in the room after check out.

"We booked this hotel for a 4-day May Day holiday trip. We have to say it was pretty awesome. The room was very spacious, had a great view of downtown and best of all was centrally located in Jinghong City. As a foreigner there were plenty of shops, a McDonald’s and Starbucks across the street. My friend being Chinese, loved all the local food places and the night market just outside with several souvenir shops. The staff was very helpful, they helped us plan trips as well. There is a public shuttle station nearby for tourists that provides a cheap alternative to taxis. All amenities were included and the bath tub was a pleasant surprise. I’d highly recommend this hotel!"

The couple who runs the establishment brings with them the unique cultural heritage of the northwest region of Yunnan Province. The male owner is a Konba man from Shangri-La, while the female owner is a native Naxi person. They have spent years working in the mountains, herding sheep, and mining.The guesthouse is located in the core area of Huama Street and Longhuatan, and it is just a 10-minute walk from the North Gate of the Lijiang Ancient City to the big waterwheel. It enjoys a convenient location in the ancient city. The courtyard is designed with a distinctive "one mountain, one tree, one large white" aerial viewing courtyard, offering a wide and soothing view, making it a unique aesthetic spot for photo-taking.
All the rooms in the house are well-equipped and follow a high-standard, meticulous hygiene management. The entire house is equipped with an intelligent guest control system. The comfort level during stay is comparable to that of a hotel. The exclusive viewing area on the top floor has an unobstructed view. It caters to both comfortable accommodation and the local cultural atmosphere.
"The staff here are incredibly welcoming and personable! We stayed for three days and two nights, and on our second day, we met some friends from the US. We all chatted together about how enthusiastic the guesthouse staff were, and how amazing the breakfast and afternoon tea spreads were! You can see the snow-capped mountains from both the rooms and the common areas! It's hard to believe this price includes so much – excellent value for money! I can totally understand why so many foreigners choose to stay here! During our three-day stay, we met people from Thailand, the US, and Russia.
Usually, guesthouses don't include lunch or dinner, but during one of our afternoon tea sessions, we asked the staff, and they mentioned that if we needed it, we could just let them know in advance.
It's a shame it rained during our visit; otherwise, the scenery would have been even more stunning! Due to the weather, we also asked the staff for advice on some of our activities. When we ran into issues buying tickets for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, they proactively offered to help us sort it out.
If you're a social butterfly, this place is highly recommended! You can strike up conversations during afternoon tea. At first, the staff seemed a bit reserved, and honestly, so were we, haha. From their perspective, they probably weren't sure if guests wanted to chat. So, if you're looking to connect, feel free to be a bit more proactive – we certainly got to know them better over afternoon tea!"

"We were a family of two adults and one child. The butler noticed our child was a bit big, so they kindly upgraded us for free to the Pomegranate Room (which has a pomegranate tree inside!) – it was such a pleasant surprise!
The hotel service was incredibly warm and welcoming. They helped us with our luggage when we arrived and when we checked out. Whenever we went out, they'd proactively ask if we needed more bottled water. They also helped us plan our sightseeing route based on our schedule. Since we only had one day, we chose to take a pig-trough boat in Langfang Village to see the 'water-loving catkins,' ride electric scooters in Daloshui, and enjoy the panoramic view from the Lige Observation Deck.
We were really lucky with the weather this time; after several cloudy days, it suddenly cleared up. Combined with the room's unbeatable view, our photos turned out absolutely stunning.
It's worth mentioning that all the flowers in the room were fresh-cut. Both the room and the common areas were decorated with great taste, and the cleanliness was excellent!
The breakfast was a combination of à la carte and buffet, which was well-designed and delicious. Overall, our stay was a fantastic experience. We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Lugu Lake!"

LLize from South AfricaWe thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at Hidden Mist (listed on Trip.com as Santorini National Tide Sea View Resort). If you are looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful lake views, outstanding hospitality, and easy access to the Dreamland Resort area, I would happily recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Location:
The hotel is located within Dreamland Resort on the eastern side of Dali, approximately 20 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the railway station, and around an hour from Dali Ancient City. We stayed near the Ancient City first before moving here, which I would recommend for anyone wanting to explore both sides of Dali.
The resort is large, beautifully maintained, and very walkable. Complimentary golf cart shuttles regularly transport guests around the resort, while taxis are easy to arrange from the main entrance. There are quite a few staircases throughout the property, so it may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility.
Service:
The service was exceptional and one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Before we even arrived, the hotel contacted us by email and created a dedicated WeChat group with staff from different departments so we could ask questions or request assistance at any time. Everything felt organised, personal, and effortless.
From the moment we arrived, a golf cart was waiting to collect us from the resort entrance. Throughout our stay, the staff regularly checked in to ensure everything was going well and genuinely cared that we were comfortable. The handwritten welcome note, housekeeping notes after each room clean, and staff asking what time would be most convenient to service our room were thoughtful touches that made us feel truly looked after.
Although our booking only included a complimentary airport or railway station pickup, the hotel kindly arranged an airport drop-off instead because we had arrived from another part of Dali. This was greatly appreciated.
Room & Cleanliness:
We booked a room with a private garden overlooking Erhai Lake, and it was absolutely worth it. Waking up to the peaceful lake view each morning quickly became one of our favourite parts of the stay.
The room and bathroom were spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Everything still feels new and exceptionally clean. The large soaking bath, with bath milk replenished daily, was perfect after a day of exploring.
The shower had excellent water pressure. As someone with very long hair, I found the shampoo and conditioner a little drying, so I would recommend bringing your own. The secure WiFi was reliable and fast enough for both my husband and me to work during our stay.
Breakfast & Dining:
Breakfast was excellent, with a choice between a Western breakfast and a local Yunnan set menu. We tried both, and every meal was fresh, well presented, and delicious.
As we had an early flight on our final morning, the hotel prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, another thoughtful gesture that reflected the level of service throughout our stay.
Our booking also included complimentary afternoon tea with cakes and fresh fruit. It would have been even better if guests could also choose a complimentary tea or coffee. The room includes quality tea, a premium kettle, and a mini fridge, although adding coffee would be a welcome touch, especially in Yunnan.
Facilities & Surroundings:
The hotel has a convenient power bank rental station in the lobby, and Dreamland Resort is full of beautiful cafés, viewpoints, and photo spots. Flomis Garden is less than a five-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for visitors.
Our booking also included a traditional tea ceremony experience, which unfortunately we did not have time to attend. We also received a beautiful woodblock print as a farewell gift, which was a lovely surprise.

XXiaozhaiginoThis French-style courtyard hotel in Lijiang perfectly met all my needs! 🏡 It's just a twenty-minute walk to the Big Waterwheel, so I didn't have to deal with the crowds at the Old Town entrance. Being off the main thoroughfare meant I could explore the Old Town at my leisure, avoiding all the noise. The moment I stepped through the gate, the street noise just vanished. This perfectly solved the common problem of Old Town guesthouses being noisy due to their proximity to the street and constant tourist traffic. The suite was spacious and didn't feel cramped, unlike many other guesthouses. While the room itself didn't offer a snow-capped mountain view, the exclusive rooftop terrace was perfect for relaxing, enjoying the breeze, and gazing at the distant, continuous mountain range – truly a cure for travel fatigue. The concierge was incredibly thoughtful and attentive throughout my stay, promptly responding to any requests, which saved me the hassle of worrying about everything when I went out. The breakfast was decent and convenient, so I didn't have to search for food elsewhere. The soundproofing in the room was excellent; the outside tourist noise didn't disturb my rest at all. It truly offered a tranquil escape amidst the hustle and bustle. Both the location, comfort, and service were ideal. I'll definitely be choosing this courtyard again on my next trip to Lijiang.

Rraymond200909On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new.
On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp.
Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

GGuest UserThis hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Dukezong Ancient Town. Its Wabi-sabi style decor is tasteful and chic, and the quality truly rivals hotels that cost 2,000 RMB a night. My friend and I stayed for two nights and we honestly didn't want to check out. We've already promised each other we'll come back to Shangri-La just for this hotel. Hope it continues to thrive!

It's full of Southeast Asian charm, surrounded by lush rainforest greenery, and the pool light show creates an incredible atmosphere. The room was spacious and smart, with a Dyson hairdryer and Atelier Cologne toiletries, which really elevated the experience. The balcony offered a super relaxing view. The butler service was attentive, and they even offered pick-up and drop-off. The Dai-style rice noodles for breakfast were amazing. Absolutely fantastic value for money, definitely my top choice for accommodation in Banna!

Seriously, I'm so grateful! The biggest surprise of my Dali trip wasn't the ancient city or Erhai Lake, but this forest B&B nestled halfway up Cangshan Mountain 🌿. As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind.
🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨.
🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. Every day was spent petting cats, gazing at the mountains, and simply daydreaming – my phone stayed at 90% battery, I didn't even want to touch it.

RRalph D.SWe initially only had 3 days visiting Dali, but rarely does a hotel ever influence me in staying longer in a particular city. Dont get me wrong, Dali is VERY BEAUTIFUL. Its got enough offerings for it to convince me to stay longer. But since this is a review of this hotel, I will keep it that way.
For starters, the staff: there are 3 whom we've had the pleasure of meeting
1.) The front desk/lobby gentleman who is very accommodating and knowledgeable. He made sure we were happy with everything and even offered to give my party of 5 credits for our ”didi” rides, one of China's largest ride share.
2.) The young lady housekeeper/tea/greeter/everything, she will provide you with all the necessities you may require. Disposable towels it works, give it a shot before knocking it, bottled water, soap, laundry detergent, anything. She also has the sweetest personality and although I didn't speak Mandarin all too well, we somehow understood each other. Shes simply amazing.
3.) The owner, she is a person of faith. If she senses anything wrong with you, she wont hesitate to offer medicine and food free of charge to make you feel better.
All of the above 3 staff rescued my mom in law when she felt unwell due to altitude sickness. Oxygen bottles were ready at 18rmb each, they even offered to try it first to see if it works before paying. It just goes to show the lengths they are willing to go to ensure their guests are well taken care of.
Now for the hotel: I might have to copy and paste this review because I actually booked 2 rooms. One for my family and another for my inlaws.
I booked the largest two bedroom with bunk bed and really tall ceilings equipped with a living room, and another was a panoramic view of both Cangshan mountain and Erhai lake on the 3rd floor corner. I forgot what it was called but the place was dreamy and well equipped. Not to mention all rooms were decked out with ZEN like decorations beyond compare.
How can I say this in the best way possible...
The location isnt the closest to the ancient city, meaning you cant walk it, but didi is quite affordable that this did not matter to us. The school bells and songs that play during specific hours are oddly satisfying and did not cause any disturbance. Cars will be cars, especially in China, so wherever you stay, hearing horns here and there is inevitable. But the windows, curtains and walls are great for sound absorption.
Combined with the beauty and serene touches this place had to offer like the koi pond, zen garden, traditional pagoda and courtyard aesthetics, along with the decor of each room that surpassed my expectations, I cancelled a more expensive hotel to stay here with the intent of trying only for a night and moving to another. With the cherry on top being served by the most humble staff, our 3 nights in Dali became 5 nights.
The distance to each attraction was never an issue thanks to the affordability of ride share programs in China. Being slightly away from the busy areas, we were welcomed with peace, quiet, and a community like vibe. We walked the back streets, visited a Buddhist temple about 5 minutes away, and dined at actual local restaurants.
The vacation became an eye opener, especially for a westerner like myself.
My family and I, even though we still have 2 nights left, already look forward to our next trip to Dali. And when that time comes, this place will be where we stay without hesitation.
I cancel a lot of hotel bookings because they rarely match what is shown on the app. You know that feeling. But this place, we were brought here for a reason.

DDenisStaying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! Our butler, Ms. Su, was incredibly attentive and helpful, assisting with itinerary planning and recommending off-the-beaten-path attractions. From breakfast and evening sweet soup, the attention to detail was impeccable. The complimentary travel photography experience was also excellent; the photographer was very professional, taking photos in the public areas that turned out beautifully, and the rooftop camera position for panoramic views of Erhai Lake was absolutely stunning.
