Instead if going home and paying additional tolls I chose to stay here because of the cost. I got this place on on of those discount sites and it was the cheapest around, so I wasn't expecting much. The check-in was easy and my room was in the front and easy access. The bed was comfortable, although it felt kinda dated. It was clean and everything was fine. They had a continental breakfast too.

This is the cleanest & most comfortable hotel on route 60, hands down. We’ve stayed at several hotels in this area. Our Mom still lives here. It’s maybe $10 or so more than others but well worth it. We upgraded this time to a king room with fridge. Excellent choice. They have cable TV w HBO, good coffee in the lobby and Jon has a fantastic beard ;-)
Red Roof Inn Parkersburg

My wife and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Parkersburg, West Virginia while visiting the region on a multi-state fall color trip. We arrived at about 7:15 p.m. on a Tuesday evening, and as it was after sunset, one of the most helpful features was that the property's red-lit Red Roof Inn sign was very prominent upon exiting US-50 onto 7th Street at night. It made it very easy to find. The front desk staff, both upon check in and checking out in the morning, were very friendly and engaging in conversation. The room was on the small side and furnishings were generally in somewhat worn condition in need of updating, but for the price our expectations were not high. There also seemed to be regular noise from running water from an adjacent room that I could hear easily during the night. However, it met our needs for what turned out to be a less than 12-hour stay during which we never did see the small city of Parkersburg during daylight. We got an early start the next morning and left before sunrise to explore the beautiful West Virginia foliage.
Days Inn by Wyndham Charles Town

My friend who lives in Harpers Ferry has a July celebration every year. It is about 90 minutes from my home so I chose to stay in a hotel overnight because I am tired after the celebration. This year I chose the Days Inn by Wyndham Charles Town/Harpers Ferry because it had a decent price and was relatively close to my friend’s house. I arrived at my friend’s house at 2:45PM to drop off some bar-b-que ribs that I prepared for the gathering and then I promptly went to the Days Inn to check-in. The check in time was 3:00 PM as documented on the confirmation email. There were not any rooms available for check-in. I told the clerk that I did not need access to the room until later in the evening and I asked if she could assign me a room and some keys now. She told me that was no problem and assigned me room 127 anlong with the keys. For context, I have a prosthetic limb and I currently have an iron deficiency issue, which has left me short of breath for even small walks. I am working with my doctors to remedy the problem, otherwise I am still living my normal life with some challenges. I arrive around midnight at the Days Inn after the event. I parked in an available spot, and went to my room, which was located at the far end of the parking lot away from the hotel office. To my dismay, the key they provided did not open the door at room 127. I grabbed my luggage and walked across the entire parking lot to the hotel office. There, I explained to the clerk that my keys did not work. Admittedly, I was tired and annoyed. He shot me mean looks as if I had done something wrong, but then provided new keys to room 127. I left the office and went across the parking lot to the back of the building. I was very tired and short of breath, but happy to finally be able to access my room. The keys did not work. I tried them over and over again, and then I heard voices coming from inside of the room. An older couple started yelling at me through the window. “This is our room!” they yelled. I showed them the key envelope for 127 that the front desk clerk gave me. Exasperated, I then began another walk from the back of the parking lot to the hotel office. I was not happy. This time the hotel clerk met me halfway in the parking lot as I am sure the startled couple called him and reported a man banging on their door. He apologized, and said he would be right back with new room keys. I stood in the parking lot until he returned. He apologized, and then stated that they would provide a discount for my stay for the inconvenience. The room was still in the back of the parking lot. I walked back again and finally got into a room. This morning I went to check out and I wanted to accomplish (2) things: I wanted to recount my experience from last night and check on the discount that the evening clerk said would be provided. I was greeted by an older man. I started to explain what happened last night, but he just cut me off and kept saying,”it

I had been all around the country driving and was looking for a place to stay and the Red Roof was a great location right off the highway. I was greeted by Mark and he was so helpful and kind that I instantly felt relaxed after such a stressful day. The room was very clean and I had a great night’s sleep!
