Best Western Oak Meadows Inn

I booked a room at the Oak Meadows in St Helens Oregon to take my son to a fishing trip which we had to get up very early for the next day, the reasoning for booking the room. At about 1:30 a.m. the fire alarm went off and we were all told to leave the building, it took over two hours for them to realize that the batteries weren't changed in one of the fire detectors... sounds like a shortcut on maintenance. We ended up having to cancel our fishing trip because we were up from 1:30 in the morning on which is a lot earlier than we intended on getting up. Upon talking to the manager on-site the only thing they would give us would be a 15% room discount, which was like pulling teeth just to get that. Beware if you stay there as their maintenance practices aren't the best.

Michele went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. She is a valuable asset to your company. Thank you Michele!! Our room was clean and neat. The faux fireplace was a nice bonus! Overall it was a great experience and we loved our stay.
Sweet Breeze Inn Grants Pass

We love this hotel and everything was perfect, except for two things... First, there was no soap, which I'm sure was just an oversight by the cleaning crew. It was easy to call the desk and get more. Second, and this was the much bigger problem: the shower was built incorrectly. It only had one temperature (as hot as possible!) and an on-off valve. It was impossible to take a shower without getting scalded by the water. We didn't have this problem in another room last time we stayed here, so I don't know why this room had this problem. The shower in room 121 needs to be looked at by a professional plumber to figure out how to put the right kind of control on it.

Stayed overnight to finally see the Oregon caves. It was the perfect stop from Sacramento. Th lobby was clean and staff was welcoming. We arrived past 8 pm and was happy that they had hot water for tea and regular and decaffeinated coffee around the clock. I can’t say anything about breakfast since we slept through it. Our room was surprisingly spacious, linens were nice and clean. The room had a TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a safe. There were face, hand and bath towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel and hand soap. Definitely one I will go back to should I need to stay overnight in the area.

The view is FANTASTIC. The room is in great need of updating/blowing up and starting over. There was dog hair on the couch when we arrived, they vacuumed it off after we complained. The tub/shower was plugged up the first night, so had to get up early the next day for plumber. The sink was plugged up last day...decent kitchenette. One bed in bedroom, one bed in living room (2 TV's), and one couch pull out bed that was more comfortable to sleep on as a couch. But, there were enough sleeping places for the 5 of us, and it wasn't a bad price. We'd stay there again, but I'm sure when they're done with remodel it will be much better.

Stayed here for one night to take a break from driving down to California from Seattle. The motel is pretty basic, but comfortable. Price was reasonable. Looks like the room has been recently renovated. Everything was clean, which I really appreciate. The room had a musty smell coming from the air conditioner. Like maybe some of the internal components were getting moldy. Someone had put an air freshener on the vent, but it didn't help very much. It didn't bother me much since I was only there for a few hours, but probably something that needs to be addressed. The location is excellent. Right in downtown Medford. A great little brew pub within walking distance. A really good breakfast restaurant next door.

While on a road trip, we stopped in Ashland, OR at this hotel. Customer service was super - even though it was around 11 pm. Our receptionist, Tiffany, offered us the lowest rate with my veteran discount. She explained where our room was and some of the other really neat shops and restaurants in town. And what a great attitude and enthusiasm! The parking lot was very full at this time and Tiffany moved her own car so we could have her parking spot. The hotel was well kept, very clean and in a lovely location. Our room was spacious and clean and no odors. Continental breakfast in the morning was also good. Upon checking out around 11 am, we met Isaiah at the front desk who was as equally friendly and helpful as Tiffany. Please commend these two individuals for having such a great attitude and personality and being so eager to assist two Veterans. We felt welcome and comfortable.

Place stunk so badly that we could not stay there. Starting from the smoke odor lobby to the smoke odor room. We knew going in that this would be a dive but we just needed a cheap place to crash for one night and we'd be out before dawn. After check in we drove to our room. My spouse was giving a pep talk on the way reminding me of much worse places we've stayed and how we can ”do this”. I said sure but we aren't leaving our things in the room before we leave to visit family. If I had to describe the whole exterior in one word it would be Sketchy. So we open our door and were knocked back by the dank smell of cigarettes. When we came to, we saw how dinky the room was. They should be called a Microhotel. One full-sized bed and a tiny wooden table that had seen better days. A tv on the wall. 2 steps and the bathroom was just a tiny closet of rusted sink and shower. At least I think it was rust. A recent murder maybe? The shower looked like you would need a shower after your shower. We would not know as we did not take a shower in that rusted ashtray. We did not sleep there either as the brave hubby of mere minutes ago said NO WAY. I said ”come on” and he said NO and I said ”we can do this” and he got mad at me and pouted half the night until he told all my family of the horrors we seen and then they all ganged up on me and refused to let us return to said Motel Hell. And no, we didn't ask for a refund as that should have happened right away, not 6 hours later. Funny story, but it was later learned that a few years ago, my brother, who smokes, checked into the same sleeze hotel and as soon as he saw his room, demanded a refund. They pushed back but he pushed harder and got a refund. Even a smoker couldn't take it.
Silver Sands

Silver Sands has been a staple stay for my family over 30 years, but I haven't been there since COVID in 2020. I assumed the swimming pool would still be there and my two daughters were extremely disappointed. It was too cold on the beach so swimming outside wasn't an option either. I wont trust pictures on Trip Adisor and other apps for current facilities.
