The overall environment was decent, but there was a smoky smell when the air conditioning was on. The facilities were a bit old, including the door locks, and the soundproofing wasn't great. However, it was reassuring to see staff at all entrances and exits, which helped ease security concerns. The hotel breakfast quality wasn't very good; aside from the freshly stir-fried side dishes, which were okay, some of the gluten-based items had turned sour from sitting out too long, which I recommend they improve. A great plus is that each room has its own parking space, making access very convenient!
Such a charming room! My kids loved it! We'll definitely come back again! Every corner was adorable and very comfortable. It's really convenient, close to the HSR (High-Speed Rail) and Gloria Outlets. Plus, breakfast from a local eatery is included!
This time I came to Taiwan for a 15-day self-driving tour, and I mostly stayed in motels. This motel was the most satisfying of my trip. The parking garage was large, there was an independent elevator to the room, and the bedroom and bathroom were completely separated. Clean and smoke-free. Stayed for three nights and had the best sleep quality. I don't like others to enter the room to clean. I asked to put the daily supplements outside the door. The supplements were very sufficient. It is worth praising. The staff has a good service attitude There is no laundry room, but it is only 5 minutes away by car to the self-service laundry. Only paper cups are provided indoors. Tenants remember to bring their own plastic cups to enjoy hot drinks. The breakfast portion is too small. Fortunately, the hotel has two paper-packaged cup noodles. The first breakfast was just two thin slices of bread, and on the second day I had porridge and some paper-wrapped instant noodles to fill my stomach.

Right across from the 'Hongshulin' MRT station exit, cross the road and walk straight up the 'Wooden Plank Road' stairs (uphill). Then, turn left and walk for about 3 minutes, and you'll arrive. The entrance guardhouse also serves as the check-in and luggage storage counter. Inside the room, there's an entryway with a shoe-changing area and two doors (very safe and quiet). This time, I unexpectedly stayed in a corner triple room (a super large double bed + a single bed), and the space was incredibly spacious and comfortable. It featured wooden floors, a satin sofa, and a marble coffee table. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, a marble-tiled shower, a washstand, and a super large, comfortable silver-white jetted tub (with lights that gradually change colors above, creating a dreamy ambiance – soaking in the tub while listening to the birds in the garden was pure bliss!). Each area had its own independent space. Breakfast is included and served in time slots; it was nutritious, delicious, and tasty.
We booked two rooms, one large family room and one couple room. The prior one is spacious, very well designed and it even has an amazing sauna room which was a nice touch to the stay. The kids had loads of fun and laughter. The beds are huge so it can easily fit 4 and maybe even 5 for younger kids. The later is a bit worn down with wallpaper coming off, stains around the tub and just an overall worn down feel to it. So if you can afford a few hundred NT$ more, I would suggest staying at the bigger room to enjoy a good full stay. Breakfast is delicious 😋
The room was super spacious, the bed was just right in terms of softness, and the pillows were comfortable. Even though it's by a main road, it's not noisy at all once you close the windows! We got upgraded to a family room with play facilities (room 205), which was a shame since the kids weren't with us. They even had little slippers for children and a step stool for the sink, which was incredibly thoughtful. There was plenty of drinking water, drinks, instant noodles, and biscuits, so you definitely won't go hungry at night. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it included braised pork rice, congee, soup, vegetarian dishes, breakfast sausages, fried items, fries, as well as a salad bar, biscuits, milk, coffee, and other drinks... You're guaranteed to be full until noon. The weekday price is really sweet, definitely recommended!
Aside from a slight smell of smoke—despite being advertised as a smoke-free environment, the smell of smoke was still overwhelming!—everything else was really good. The breakfast was decent, with vegetables and fruit. I really liked the large bathroom in the room, and they even provided snacks and instant noodles, which was great value!
Hotel location is too far from Tainan city
And the remote control and the jacuzzi sometimes are a little faulty
Although the hotel staff was soon ready, I was still not satisfied with the experience.

JJodieGThe staff were really lovely and I'm sure that had I have spoken Chinese, the things I'm about to say would've been different as I would've been able to explain them over the phone and get them rectified.
CONS: I didn't get there until almost 1 am due to a flight delay and then missing the last MTR, so by the time I did get there all I wanted was a hot bath and a quiet night's sleep.
Firstly, the room had definitely had smokers in it previously. They may have done a treatment but it was still noticeable.
Secondly, there was 'hair' in the bathtub from a previous occupant. So I definitely didn't use it.
Thirdly, I got almost no sleep – even though the bed was really comfortable – because the smoke alarm in the room needed its battery replaced and spent all night making that very loud high-pitched sound that you cannot ignore!
Now again, had I've been able to pick up the phone and ask them to come and sort it, it could have been a different story, but...
PROS: the room was a great size, and the bathroom had both a spa bath and a walk-in shower. It also was very large and is well set up for customers to drive their vehicle into the ground floor of the unit then go up the stairs to the first floor where the actual room is. The staff were very nice and welcoming even though I arrived so late and even gave me some instant noodle cups. I also got a voucher for breakfast, but didn't end up getting to use it as I was too tired to get out of bed and go there before it finished.
I may not be the target clientele for this establishment, and while this particular stay had farcical elements, now that I know what it's like and how it works, I probably would stay there again simply due to how nice the staff were. It's not their fault that I don't speak Chinese.

GGuest UserWe needed a place that accepted check-in late at night near Zuoying Station, so this was the deciding factor for my booking this motel. It took about 10min to walk from the HSR station to the motel.
Too bad we don't have a car, because we had a parking space! Check in was easy and our room was spacious... It did smell like old cigarette smoke, but the sheets and bathroom were definitely clean. The floor directly outside of the bathroom was very warped from water damage, but it held up under our feet. The interesting chair was interesting, but not put to use.
Breakfast was set outside the room shortly after I rang for it. Very dry sandwich, but edible.
I did make use of the teas and coffee provided, much appreciated.
It's a functional place.
GGuest UserI stayed at Discovery Motel Nan’gang for three nights. While the pricing is reasonable and the included simple breakfast is appreciated, it’s important to note that this motel is designed with couples in mind and is not suitable for families or those seeking a more traditional hotel experience.
The key advantage is its convenience for those traveling by car — each room has a dedicated parking spot right in front of the door, which makes access very easy. The location is relatively accessible by car, but may not be ideal for guests relying on public transportation.
Overall, it offers good value for specific types of travelers, especially couples or solo drivers, but I would not recommend it for family stays.

GGuest UserThe room is a bit old, but it's cheap and comes with breakfast! There is nothing to complain about~ the service staff are enthusiastic! The location is pretty good. Across the river is the Wen Zhang Beef Soup Restaurant. It's also good to walk over and eat leisurely.
CCHU~The exterior and its proximity to the places we visited were quite good! The front desk service was also excellent, and they recommended dining options. The complimentary breakfast was simple yet substantial. However, the bathroom facilities in the room were a bit old, especially the water damage on the walls. Nevertheless, it's a friendly hotel for families with children 😊
