My check in and room were perfect by the absolutely lovely front desk woman who works 7pm when I checked in I wish I remembered her name… the very next day, I was overcharged $50 by a morning front desk employee who informed me they were “ sold out” and my “ only option would be to book through her” and she accepted 200 CASH “as long as I did the $25 deposit on a credit or debit card in my name”…. I was pressed for time and simply believed what I was being told in good faith as I’ve had never had an issue w a Hilton property over reservation charges and I am a Honors member for many years and much travel… suffice to say… I found availability for that night hours later when I had the time to review and attempt to book my third night…. Rooms were still(!) available online at rates lower that the 224 I was charged …. Third night I saved over fifty dollars by booking on Third party…. My suggestion is that prospective travelers Book Prior to stay and not reserve at front desk… this is common knowledge, but to tell me they were SOLD oUt and she was “ doing me a favor by extending my stay and allowing me to pay cash “( or perhaps ripping off both me and perhaps Hilton hotels ? I’m speculating on that… wish she had been accurate on my options if not outright LIE …. And I do not want to take Anything away from the great exp I had at check in ….the hotel is very comfortable without being modern in that way that NYC boutique hotels are… I find that sp**** mod look for hotel rather cold and pretentious…. Great smart TV w all access a clean room and all the amenities are what make this hotel a must if traveling to the area… just look thru Google hotels to find ur Very best rate .. and enjoy! Great value for the money. Simple but clean rooms, plenty of towels for one person, very pleasant and helpful staff. Only 2 downsides; 1 minor, 1 major. Minor: the bed is comfortable, but you only get one blanket. So bring an extra, if that's your thing. Major: I saw a couple of cockroaches. I wasn't surprised, because previous reviews had mentioned them. They weren't everywhere, but still best not to leave any of your stuff on the floor. The irony is that the building was being power washed while I was there - maybe put some of that money into better insect control.

Red Roof Inn Neptune - Jersey Shore is one of the best non-smoking budget hotels in Neptune, NJ that is right off of Route 33 with easy access to the Garden State Parkway and Route 18. This is one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. First off, the staff members here are about as useful as a Walmart door greeter. They stand there and ignore you until you start making enough noise. Then they take a sigh and serve you and first give you an attitude then give you your keys. The rooms are filthy and smelly. With the price you pay, you would think this place is a palace. This place is a dump and I’m surprised it’s still in business. I will always have a bad feeling about this place from the couple of times I’ve stayed here. I had an equally lousy stay last year. You think I’d learn, but the manager promised to make it up to me if I ever came back to town. Well, I did and their offer was not worth all the trouble we dealt with. We will NEVER stay at this nightmare hotel again. Do yourselves a favor and stay at the Hampton Inn down the street. Much better service and quality for about the same price as this hotel

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to do this because we had such a good experience at this hotel and some of the recent negative reviews don’t make sense with that. The staff was really helpful during our stay—polite and accommodating. Thank you to Charles, Latoya, Shannon and the rest of the team. The room was renovated, modern and spotless (and I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties). The breakfast was plentiful and often replenished. Waffles, eggs, muffins, etc. The location was quiet but centrally located. It’s a great place for families or business professionals to stay. Renovations are almost completed, but any work being done did not affect us.

Let's start with the positives. The location is great! It's near the ocean in a cute downtown area of Ocean Grove. The nearby City of Asbury is amazing with restaurants and shopping and the boardwalk along the beach offers guests a chance to get some fun, clean exercise. Also, the hotel was reasonably clean. Now the negatives. We stayed in room 17 on the fourth floor. The room was not great at all. The shower only ran warm water for 5 minutes before turning cold. It was horrible to come back to a warm/cold shower after being gone all day or first thing in the morning. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the duvet/comforter was weird. The comforter would go to the bottom of the duvet every night while we were sleeping which left us with just the duvet to keep warm. There is no fan in the bathroom just FYI. Also, the stairs to the different floors are steep and narrow so hard to take your luggage up and down. Finally, housekeeping is so-so. We just asked for towels most days to use with our cold shower, but the one day we did ask to have the room cleaned, we didn't get any service at all. Overall, I would NOT recommend this hotel. There are a lot better hotels options in the area.
